JB Hifi (Brisbane) - Pure - Contour (ID68687) List price $299 Toady only $64.02. It has quietly been reduced to $106 which is a great price but for today on the Wacky Wednesday they have 40% off making it $64.02. Only today at this price. This seems to be a walk in only and I have tested it in 2 JB Hifi stores in Brisbane. Unsure if it works elsewhere. Suggest if you want one to be quick.

How does this work in regards to streaming music from my server? I assume you use the connector app but do you also have to install something on the server?
It can stream music from your PC/Mac. You need to use some UPnP software (Pure has some you can download from their site). It also has Internet radio. (built in WiFi)
Thank you. Got one from Midland in Perth. They have it listed for $299. Initially the salesperson insisted it was $299. I asked him to check the website, where it was listed for $127. Then he checked with PDA, and found it was listed for $64.02
They had 4 more left.
There was a smaller unit selling for $15x at the store.
My advice; Don't bother calling. Check on their website to ensure they have stock at the store nearby, and go in.
At midland now they're telling me they've only got the little one left :( We're they on the shelf when you were here or out the back ?
I remember commenting in a previous posting of this unit. This is now officially in the 'Holy Crap Batman/Seriously Amazing' bargain territory!
i bought one at $100 or so, i had to swap it out as the first one failed and the replacement isn't drastically better. All of a sudden decides it wants to be on max volume and scares the CRAP out of me.

Seriously, sorry to hear that (as are you). I have a Pure unit I bought a few years ago and occasionally the OLED display switches to crazy maximum brightness for awhile for no good reason, but the sound thing is a touch more serious.
It's almost Christmas. Have you considered a re-gift to a relative you don't like - who may nonetheless have left you in their will? Just a thought …
The sound issue should be something they can resolve via a firmware update. I connected mine up to the wireless router, and it downloaded / installed firmware v1.8. The unit was shipped with v1.2
Also, it has a decent 2 year warranty.

Only saw the little one at JB Prahran (VIC). Brighton (VIC) had the big one but had it at list price $299 minus the 40%…didn't think to ask about it like xutiq (wasn't totally sure whether a dock is what I wanted to get someone for christmas, so I figured oh well don't worry about it) probly should've asked n grabbed it if I could then though, since such a bargain..
Just bought the last one at JB HiFi Ringwood and Forest Hill (both display models, got them for $60 each). Can I just say - this is a whopping bargain!! Cheers to the OP - just tested the sound quality - almost as good as (or even on par) with the Bose iPod docks!!

Issue is doing the firmware update. Its stuck on installing now for the last few hours..
Can the dock screw up unplugging it during installation?
The Pure streaming content is pointless for Australia as Pure do not have the service here. Otherwise still a great deal
