150k points on the one above but 12k spend in 12 months and minimum 15k limit. Good for someone with a mortgage and paying package fee. 2 lounge passes a year and free insurance perks etc

Card fee will be waved off if you have a home loan package

    • 150k points on the one above but 12k spend in 12 months and minimum 15k limit.

For this card, the 1st year annual fee is $99 , if you have a St. George account.

      • +3

Also keep in mind that if you want the bonus points you HAVE to pay that first year annual fee. I have a home loan with St George and still had to pay the $49 or forego the bonus points

        • I guess we can’t go wrong even after paying 99 to get ~650$ worth of gift cards after 12k spend in 12 months + lounge access + award points on $ spend + insurances

    • Question in the lounge passes, if I already have cashed in the priority pass membership with another card does this one apply? Do I have to keep the card to access the lounge as well after I have signed up?

      • This card has PP?

As usual, offer not available if you’ve held a St.George, Bank of Melbourne or BankSA rewards card in the last 12 months. New cards only. T&Cs Apply.

    • What if you've held a Qantas rewards card (rather than an Amplify rewards card)?

  • Can you get this offer if you have Westpac Altitude Rewards?

    • Yes

NAB is 60k points with 1k spend in 60 days.
Virgin Money is 60k points with 1.5k spend per month for 2 months.

NAB is definitely the easiest option here, the $0 annual fee is good for St George though

    • NAB is a good one, though I'm still in my 18 month period before I can reapply for bonus points. I've just ticked over 12 months from holding a St George card so will most likely apply for this one.

Actually curious how people keep track of how long it's been since they've held a cc with a bank, do you guys just keep a spreadsheet of the dates or enquire from the bank if you get the sign up bonus?

        • +5

I have a google drive spreadsheet that tracks cc name, apply date, closure date, bonus details etc, best redemption items and estimated future re-apply date.
(I also have a spreadsheet for all gift card balances)

          • @RTY: Would you mind sharing a copy?

        • +1

just keep track of each card cancel date and you know in 12 months you can apply again - i do about 4-5 cards a year depending on how quickly they credit the qantas points and cancel immediately

          • @jabroni: So here's the thing right, I've cancelled my NAB card months ago, but they still send me letters about my balance and when I contacted them about this, they said that it's in case and transactions happen, in that circumstances, which would be the actual closing date?

Probably a better question to ask NAB themselves but, eh.

            • +1

@ilikeblue: yeah i had one where they forgot to cancel it in their system [St George affiliate bank] then after they fixed it up they said it wont affect my original 12 month cancel date

usually they send a closure letter or it will say closed in the app then you know its good to go

    • Think its 60k points for $2k spend in 60 Days: https://www.nab.com.au/personal/credit-cards/qantas-rewards/…

Might be better off with NAB Qantas Rewards Signature Card - 90,000 bonus points when you spend $3,000 on everyday purchases within the first 60 days. Further 30k points if you hold it for 12 months: https://www.nab.com.au/personal/credit-cards/qantas-rewards/…

Or ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum with 75k points, $100 back with $2500 spend in first 3 months with $295 annual fee: https://www.anz.com.au/personal/credit-cards/frequent-flyer-…

More options here: https://cardsandbanking.qantas.com/compare-credit-cards and here https://www.pointhacks.com.au/credit-cards/#qantas-frequent-…

  • Have just checked - BankSA also are doing this offer for those who want to open an account with them
    https://www.banksa.com.au/personal/credit-cards/rewards/ampl…

  • Bit odd they ask you for bank statements when you actually bank with them… Provided them anyway. Applied and conditionally approved for over a week and they keep asking for verification of income. Yesterday they asked for last year's tax return. Bankwest i applied and same day approved. Digital card available next day and physical card arrived 2 days after that.

    • I applied on Thursday, accepted today - providing only payslips. Now have to wait for physical card, considering i haven't received the debit card yet, looks like I'll be waiting at least a week or two

  • Whats 100k amplify rewards points worth ?

    • This is from the bank's website:

That could be worth up to $450 in eGift cards<, when you spend $3k+ on eligible purchases within 90 days of new card approval*

    • $450 in gift cards or if converted to Velocity you'd be looking at about ~1.5c per point so about $750

      • Seems the airline points are like stocks, only going up. It's been ~1c per point just a year ago.

      • so you would need to convert to velocity points and sell em on ozb for 1.5c?

  • I’m currently an overseas worker on a 482 visa and have an ANZ credit card with a $6,000 limit. I earn a three-digit income and have no debts, plus I’ve always paid my dues on time. Given my savings and good payment history, I’m wondering how much the bank might allow me to borrow if I apply for another card with $6k limit? Is it advisable to go for an additional ANZ card, or should I hold off for now? Any insights would be appreciated!

three digit income heh!! did you mean 000 at the back of a number? is that weekly/monthly?

      • Haha Sorry my bad, I was drunk posting, I have an avg income means above $100k/year.

    • Three digit income? Or do you mean six figures starting with a 3? Or five figures starting with a 3? Or literally $999?

      • Haha Sorry my bad, I was drunk posting, I have an avg income means above $100k/year.

  • Cancelled this card a few months ago. Is there any info on how long before we can get the deal again. Assuming it would be 1 year?

    • 12 months.

  • Am I correct in understanding that 100,000 amplify points can be converted to 200,000 velocity points?

    • +1

No, you have it the wrong way around. It's 100,000 amplify points to 50,000 velocity points.

      • Thanks very much. Seems this is an okay deal for existing st George members, but not any more competitive than other options right now.

  • This is the same as the Bank of Melbourne card on here as well.

    • BankSA also has the same offer

What's it worth in Woolies giftcard value?

  • What's this worth in terms of Qantas Frequent Flyer points value?

    • +1

      no qff for this product.

  • Are St George, Bank of Melbourne and Bank SA part of the same group? ie if you've had a card with one back in the last 12 months, you can't get the same card with another bank?

Does anyone have a list of the banking groups for credit card purposes?

    • yeah they are the same group

  • +2

Horrible bank, horrible credit cards team, like pulling teeth dealing with them.

  • There's a bug where some cards can't be added to google pay atm for anyone who only uses tap payments.

  • Used to be good when it was 2:1 to krisflyer.
