  • I was able grab Phillips 4300 fully automatic machine from Amazon yesterday. The price last for few mins before it reverted to $657.
I reckon it was great price.

  • Sounds like you’ve had a lot of experience with it at work - what’s the coffee like?

Have a Nespresso at the moment and want to upgrade, but can’t be arsed with a proper espresso machine. Hoping this lies somewhere in between.

I'll be upfront—it's not perfect, but it does a pretty solid job. I don’t think there’s a flawless coffee machine out there, to be honest.

We used to have an Aldi pod machine at work that finally gave out after 8 years, so it was time for an upgrade. I needed something man-child friendly for our office of five, something that didn’t require a degree to operate. Like you, I wasn’t interested in dealing with the hassle of a full espresso machine.

We've been using this one for over a year now, making about 10-15 coffees a day. Occasionally, I'll get an error, but a quick empty of the coffee grounds bin and a rinse of the infuser usually fixes it. I did have to get the infuser unit replaced under warranty recently, but considering the volume of coffees it churns out daily, I’m pretty satisfied with it. It seemed like the perfect choice to replace the Aldi pod machine we had at home.

The coffee quality is fantastic, especially compared to any pod machine. Of course, it depends on the beans you use, but having freshly ground coffee makes a huge difference, and being able to control the amount of coffee grounds is awesome.

We only use the machine for espresso and skip the milk frother. It works well, but I find it a bit too much hassle. I just add a splash of milk straight into my cup once the coffee’s done.

Is it worth upgrading from a pod machine? Absolutely.
