Hi again guys. Apologies, but we've just been instructed to drop this to $200 capped cashback per member effective 11am AEST. Sorry, but totally out of our control. Regards, TA.

@Hamza, @bargaingrabber please update the post accordingly. Thank you.

    • +2

What happens to the earlier purchases? I.e. I got a steam deck during the $700 cap? Will future purchases within the cashback period still track but at $200 cap instead, or did I use up all my available cashback?

      • +2

@tightarse has this question been answered? Kinda important…

    • +14

I know this isn’t you or TCB, but this is a really bad look

      • +6

This is just standard TCB operation since way before they expanded to Aus. Back then they frequently change terms without notice until you try and claim missing cashback, then they will say "oh our partner changed it retroactively so go kick rocks".

At least here they have tightarse announcing things beforehand, but TCB seems to still have zero respect in the industry and partners do whatever they want.

        • -5

Not true at all as you’re not on the other end of emails. We had no choice here.

          • +15

@tightarse: Why would I need to be in your emails when I'm commenting on TCB's global/UK state of affairs from experience?

Oh wow nice ninja edit, so you realized that first draft was rude and inappropriate as a PR manager. You're also missing the point. I'm exactly saying that maybe TCB would've had a choice if partners didn't push it around so easily.

            • +12

@xrailgun: My apologies. My initial response was a shade aggressive and borne out of frustration more than anything. I more than anyone don't like to make changes to deals mid stream but we have to comply with our clients requests. Hope you understand :)

              • +1

@tightarse: All good. I know you take this role very seriously and appreciate you for that. I was/am in no way attacking you as an individual nor at your professional role. I was sharing my frustrations of dealing with TCB in general. As I mentioned, it's better now that they have you to announce stuff in advance, rather than wait for angry cashback claims to retroactively change the terms.

                • +1

                  @xrailgun: Thank you :)

                  • @tightarse: Wow you have great counterpart PMs at Everyday Market who seem to change their mind very often !! I have often seen this as a problem with Woolworths group having change of mind on cashback terms or taking the store off cashback entirely

              • @tightarse: Thanks @tightarse This is still a great offer at 35% cashback capped at $200 for those spending less than $570. Cashback seems to include GST.

          • @tightarse: Can we pay with Woolworths dollars for a partial payment?

              • @Repstar: How about using the $10 off code for the first ever purchase?

                • @MR-AM: I can’t see the code listed on TCB website, so no.

What will stop me getting my cashback

Cashback is ineligible on use of any codes not approved and posted by TopCashback.

    • I made a purchase of $853.87 at 10:55am, this will track at $298.85 cashback, correct?

      • I made a purchase earlier around 8:59am and got tracked at the uncapped rate

    • Thanks for saving my money lol

    • +9

that's why i wont join TopCashback, keep changing condition , cashback uncapped for whole day, then keep falling. what's next? $20 before 1pm?

Don't play the game if you can't afford it.

      • +8

Don't play the game if you can't afford it.

Wise words to share to Woolworths. If you can't afford to pay your partners cashback (TopCashback) don't offer it at all.

35% with $200 cap is better than 0%.

    • +1

Fark. Glad I came back to check before purchasing. Most stuff I was looking at is basically $200 more expensive in woolies than elsewhere.

    • Damn, went into a meeting, came back out and the cap drops from $700 to $200? lol

    • got downvoted quite a bit when I questioned the economic sense of unlimited 35% cashback earlier this morning. Looks like Woolworths started to realise it too.

      • +6

We're here for bargains, not pondering over the "economic sense" of big corps lol

Do your research, there's likely plenty of opportunities.

I was living in Germany but working in UK some years ago. Jabra headsets were not valued in the UK, but highly sought after in Germany. So I bought up a whole bunch of used Jabra headsets from ebay UK, took them back to Germany and sold them on ebay DE. I made about 2000EUR.

Not sure why you're being negged on this… everyone is happy - the seller in one country sells their product, the buyer in another country gets access to the product they want. It's not like you're stocking up on something that's in limited supply…

      • Thanks. Yeah I did a bit of research but surprisingly not many candidates with good margins that are in demand here in NZ. Small market I guess, and shipping isn't cheap.

  • Sony A6400 Body - Black will be less than 1k…

    • It's under $1k without cashback on some shops

  • +3

Some of the prices being thrown around here aren't factoring GST being excluded from cashback so just be aware it may cost a bit more than quoted in this thread, approx $40 extra for something like the steamdeck

    • +2

That's because EM includes the GST.

      • +1

Good job whoever negged me. Think before you vote. If you buy a $100 item on EM, @ 35% cashback it will track at $35. They don’t take GST out before calculating cashback.

        • +2

          Upvoted. No more neg!

  • EMNEW10 probably not worth the risk?

    • I used it and it tracked

  • Does this work for buying multiple products, or can it be used more than once?

    • +9

It's owned by Woolworths mate. They just made a billion dollar profit. They are pumping money into their new marketplace. Enjoy the mega cashbacks while they last.

I've been eyeing off the Canon EOS R6 Mark II for some time now, so this might be a good deal given it's not a direct import.. does anyone know I could stack this with the $600 vouchers provided from Canon when purchasing directly with retailers? and not DigiDirect via Woolworths Marketplace?

    Price: $3,989.00
    Price without GST: $3,626.36

    Total Cashback: $1,269.22
    TRS Refund: $362.64

    Final Price: $2,357.54

    • +1

This looks like a “buy now ask later” situation, otherwise at 9am you’re only getting $700 cashback.
Considering your unlimited cashback is well over the $600 voucher you’ll receive, think quick!

Digidirect do have the $600 voucher listed on there site so there’s a chance.

    • -1

I assume you live in are coming back to Australia, so you will need to pay GST when returning if claiming TRS. It’s for tourists not locals. Unless you want to roll the dice but I hear they flag it when claiming it

      • TRS is also for Australians. Stated clearly on the website: https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/touris…

You need to declare it when you return because it’s over $900 (https://www.abf.gov.au/entering-and-leaving-australia/duty-f….) but as long as you’re bringing it back in used (in not in packaging with a few photos taken), no one is going to pull you up on it. You may have trouble if you bring in a whole lot of other new stuff that needs to be declared.

They don’t flag anything… perhaps they can look it up if you give them reason to be suspicious, but unlikely for a single camera!

        • I live in South America.. have done it a few times without issues!

  • Any standout coffee machines? Looking at the Breville Barista Touch after the one yesterday got cancelled due to being OOS.

Another thing I'm in the market for is a cheap stock vacuum. Any advice on these would be much appreciated.

  • PS5 slim digital edition $454

    • +1

And then stuck with the digital tax for new releases and not being able to resell. Ultimately costing you more, very shortly after too.

  • This includes all the pantry items and normal groceries?

    • Are they from Everyday Market partners?

      • +1

Ah got it - so only to items sold by 3rd party partners. That makes sense. Cheers

  • Can anyone recommend my any good electric bikes? They range between $1K - 3K and i have no idea on the brands.

    • +2

Probably one of the few things I'd recommend not buying some random brand and one to get from the bike store even if it's bit more expensive.

    • That 15 pro price is wild

      • Yep still incredibly expensive even after cashback. Insane.

  • Can you use rewards dollars without affecting the cash back? Didn't see it mentioned in the description.

    • +2

Also keen to know this too.
@tightarse does the use of everyday rewards dollars affect cashback at all, or does the cashback get calculated minus the amount of everyday rewards dollars redeemed?
Also, shopback approves the use of all promo codes, so can I double check whether there are any codes at all (eg. the first order promo code EMNEW10) that are permitted?

    • +2

Used reward dollar and shows cashback calculated from total spending including reward dollars.

      • Doesn't mean it'll be approved but yeah would be good to have clarification.

  • Are the Apple products grey imports?

    • Some yes some no - dependent on the 3rd party seller

  • Will they honor it for sure ? Gamesmen have Xbox series x not sure how much will be exactly minus gst and other tax but looks like just over 500 mark

    • Yea I want to know too :) looks like a good deal

    • It's part of Everyday Market, so yes

    • -6

Gosh I'm tempted, 35% off is pretty great. I feel like I could even just buy it, then sell it, and make a profit.

  • Does anyone have any experience with refurbished iPhones? Looking at getting the iPhone 13 mini for my daughter, Is it unrealistic to expect it to last a few years? It wouldn't be used much just mostly for a medical app. Cheers

    https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/1075562014…

    • +1

I just bought a couple of refurb iphones for my parents from green gadgets. Both have perfect screens, no major damage (corner scuffs).
I did ensure to purchase phones listed with new battery installed, which is the biggest risk - if you happen to get a phone with close to 80% battery remaining then there’s not a lot of battery life left.

You’ll get plenty of life out of an iphone 13 mini provided the battery is good!

If it’s not going to be used much, you could consider iphone 12 mini instead (significantly cheaper). Iphone 12 still has plenty of life in it too.

      • +1

Thanks for that, very good point on the 12 mini, I think I'll be getting that one. Luckily they have a pink case as well 😅

        • +1

I was using a mini-12 until earlier this year. I upgraded to iphone-15, but only because my daughter needed a new phone so she got my mini-12. I don't see significant difference in the performance between the mini-12 and the iphone-15 in terms of performance or functionality (only bigger screen and bigger battery), and I can't comfortably use the bigger phone in one hand.

          • @braddsey: Okay thanks, I'm going to lock in the 12 mini in that case, hopefully no issues with cashback tracking!

    • +1

I have used my 13 mini for over 3 yrs now and I believe it can last another 2 or more at least. But I don't use it a lot and take great care of the battery use.

      • +1

After using the “mini” iPhone for years, i finally got a regular iPhone this year (and my daughter inherited my mini 12). The battery of the bigger phone is noticeably better - i no longer get battery anxiety!

        • +1

Yep it is… Even with minimal use and around 94% battery health during the summer it won't last long outside maybe due to heat or something… But my hands are too small so the mini does feel much better for one hand use~ And it looks cute haha

Hey guys. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control, we need to limit cashback to $700 per member from 9:00am AEST. So in summary, from 9am the offer will be 35% cashback capped at $700 per member account. This will end at 11:59pm AEST. If you have multiple transactions totalling more than $700 cashback, these will be adjusted down in the next day or so. @BargainsGrabber please update the post accordingly. Thanks for your support as always.

    • Is this limit being applied only for all new orders from 9am, or will it also be retroactively applied to orders placed before 9am?

    • Good to know thanks. Does this imply we can do multiple transactions up to the $700 limit? Or only one order for a single item?

    • Thanks for the update TA, mods have updated post accordingly post 9am

    • +3

Will you honour uncapped cashback from my purchase at 7am?
      https://www.woolworths.com.au/shop/productdetails/1074297630…

      • +1

From the way that TA wrote the comment, we have until 9am for uncapped cashback and any orders placed before 9am should be honoured

      • +4

If your cashback tracks and gets paid successfully, it will probably be the biggest individual cashback amount paid by TopCashback :D

        • -2

Just want to clarify that I didn't pull the trigger, thanks guys taking my joke seriously, however if any car makers can make some car listings there and combine with "monthly" cashback promotion, I see many people will be heavily interested, including me ;-)

        • I wonder what happened for TCB to implement this LOL.

  • +2

Very much relying on the cashback tracking properly - no change-of-mind returns on the lens I bought from Digidirect…

    • +4

Looks like it's tracked successfully! Ripper deal, thanks OP - after cashback and price protection claims, I'll have managed to score a new Canon RF 28-70mm f2.0 for $2240, brilliant!

      • That's a ridiculously good price, how did you manage that? Even with the uncapped cashback I calculated it to be around $3k total…

        • Price protection will bring it down quite a lot - might also find some extra discounts for myself by selling the lenses this one will replace!

  • How long to track and receive cash back?

    • Estimated 7 days

      • +4

From what I'm seeing so far today, transactions are currently reporting to members within 2-3 hours.
