          ;)

        • +1, bought MacBook Air, transaction showed up within an hour.

        • What am I doing wrong for it to not track? Adblock was off and TCB chrome extension reported the cashback as active for the purchase >3 hrs ago.

          • +1

@SwarleyAUS: Why have Adblock installed on a cashback browser at all as they’ve been proven to block cookies even when you believe it’s off. Always use a clean browser or the TCB app. Did you have numerous tabs open? Really difficult to know without actually being in front of you.

            • @tightarse: because I only use one browser? Yeah I had multiple tabs open but didn't click on any others after clicking the pink button for one, and for two, the chrome extension said it was active so to me that would indicate any purchases I make will be tracked.

Edit: I guess I will use the app going forward. Using this method, when I do click on a merchant in the app it takes me to their website in Chrome (outside of the app). Is this expected behaviour and will orders track? I assume so but this differs to how the Shopback app operates, for example. Cheers.

Proven where/by who? Could you please post a link?

I couldn't find any mention of this on tech/security news sites or anywhere else for that matter.

If browser extensions can continue running even after being disabled… well that's quite a serious issue and something that needs to be reported to Google, Mozilla, etc.

              • -1

@HomeAlone: I did a quick Google and bam here's evidence of uBlock Origin still applying rules when it's off.

                • @Clear: The extension isn't disabled in the example you linked to. It's still running. They just turned off blocking for a specific website.

I'm looking for something that shows that the extension can remain active in memory after the extension has been disabled. That's something that should not be possible unless there is a huge security flaw in the browsers.

                  From your link:

Description: This issue is in keep with recent user reports on social media stating that even after turning off uBlock for a specific website it is still being detected, very likely as a direct result of this bug that is causing the extension to still apply blocking rules for websites it was turned off.

                  .

I have it turned off for youtube.com, for example

                  .

Expected behavior: When uBlock is turned of for a specific website no blocking rules should be applied

Actual behavior: When uBlock is turned of for a specific website, blocking rules are still being applied

                  • -1

TA said when it's off and you're saying when it's disabled. These are two different things.

So as per my link when turning off adblock for a specific website the blocking rules can still apply. Thus the risk of the affiliate network's tracking being blocked is still possible and the transaction won't be tracked. Disabling the add-on would prevent this entirely.

Same things actually, but if your argument has now devolved into semantics then I suggest you take a look at uBlock and count the occurrences of the word "off". Let me know how many you find.

Click to disable uBlock for this site.

                      • -1

@HomeAlone: Have you used uBlock Origin before? You can turn it off for individual sites or you can disable the add-on altogether. When there are bugs in some releases it's possible that the blocking rules still apply when it's "off".

Despite having it off for cashback and sites I visit it'll often come up with a blocked page due to it using several different global ad blocklists and telling me not to proceed. So then I need to manually approve it and click through again.

                          @Clear:

Have you used uBlock Origin before?

The answer to that should be rather obvious if you read my previous comment.

Go hover your mouse over the power button in uBlock Origin and tell me what it says.

Despite having it off for cashback and sites I visit it'll often come up with a blocked page due to it using several different global ad blocklists and telling me not to proceed. So then I need to manually approve it and click through again.

That's user error on your part if you don't disable it completely.

Why have Adblock installed on a cashback browser at all as they’ve been proven to block cookies even when you believe it’s off.

That's a copout statement from TCB trying to shift the blame on the user. If you disable the extension, for all functional purposes it's the same as not having it installed.

Installing a different browser just for cashback purposes isn't required.

  • Would be super nice if you also got price protection from latitude card.

Btw, any iPhone 16pro preorder? :p

Maybe not everyone are power user.

  • +1

I'm a bit worried about the tracking - after clicking through, the Chrome extension says only 5% cashback is applied and only for new customers. All ad blockers are disabled. I'm not willing to risk spending big on anything if I'm not confident about the tracking…

    • Same!!

      • +3

It's nothing to worry about, and is caused by this. The Notifier is picking up the Groceries URL and reporting cashback based on what it sees. So click out from here, ignore what the Notifier rate is showing for this retailer and you'll be fine :)

  • Hey guys, so the deal has just started now?

    • +1

The deal was on already. The cashback was uncapped until 9am and after 9am, there's a $700 cashback cap per member

  • "everyday market" is just the name for their online store? this applies to normal grocery purchases too?

  • Does this item qualify for the 35% cashback?

better than nothing, but >100% mark ups is still rip off. know which items are cheaper at woolies and get those further discounted.

things like long life milk, peanut butter, some cuts of meat, etc.

fruit and veg quite expensive in general at woolies, tomatoes especially, i get them $2.50/kg at local shop.

    • +7

Why would you be buying groceries from a third party seller lol

OzBargainers are buying other stuff like electronics, DJI to name a few :)

      • -2

Didn't open the link, just fake news from me.

    • +2

      Clueless….

  • Is the cap on the spend or on the cashback? Eyeing new iphone….

    • Cap limit is on your TopCashback account - regardless how many transactions it is capped at $700 per member

      • Yes, but it's up to $700 cashback? So I could buy a new iphone for up to $2100 and get up to $700 cashback?

        • +1

          YES!

        • Which iPhone?

          • @Modesty: The 15 pro is fantastic, but only 128gb. Might get a refurbished one for my kid (iphone 13)

Hi OP and TA, can we use gift card as payment and still qualify for 35% cashback? Thanks

    • +4

Definitely not. Clearly stated in the terms and in the OP. Cheers.

      • EMNEW10 can we use this code, it is listed on the woolie market

    • +1

      Helps to read OP’s description…

    • Cashback is ineligible on purchase of gift cards and/or use of gift cards for payment.

      Don't risk it

  • +3

Anything im interested in even with 35% back its only on par with prices can easily get elsewhere. Crazy.

    • That’s the point of these businesses.

    • Same, I won’t ever shop at that marketplace again everything is overpriced

  • +1

Shame that there's nothing worth buying on there even with 35% cashback.

  • Cap is $700 now.

Anyone know how long it takes to track?

    • Answered above by TA

    • I placed an order earlier and it took ~45minutes to track

    • I ordered 1 hr 10 minutes ago, hasn't tracked yet, so YMMV.

  • Anyone else having problems signing in to Woolworths after choosing what you want to order?

  • +1

    Thanks!
I've been eyeing off a new wifi access point, picked up a TP-Link EAP772, $201 after cashback. Cheapest I've seen it elsewhere is $275 after codes on ebay.

  • +1

Does cashback work with the 10$ off first order Code from everyday marketplace??

  • +1

    Thanks Op!

    Bought OLED steam deck 512gb

Cash back tracked email as well received.

All up $786 for this is insane hehe

    • You likely won't get cashback on the GST component so it will be $825, not $786.

      • Nope, can confirm it calculates with the GST

Bought something before the 9am uncap limit and it tracked at the full 35%

        • Mine tracked as well for the steam deck oled, also calculated with the GST. We'll see if that's the case, am happy either way.

    • -1

want to get the 1TB, then claim price protection

  • Is using everyday rewards dollar count as purchasing by gift card ?

  • +1

so much stuff to look through dammit

  • if I search for a drone, the results shown are for drinks lol how tf do you search this rewards market? lol

  • From a UI prospective, it's such a pain searching for anything on the website. It's slow and clunky. And keyword searches show a lot of irrelevant results.

  • Any recommendations for buying an ipad for kids?

  • TCB pink 'get cashback' button doesn't forward me to woolworths' site, will cashback still track?

  • I don't seem to have gotten any notice about my transaction tracking after ~2 hours. Should I report a missing transaction if it doesn't pop up over the next few hours?

  • stopped looking for now but the gamesmen and gameology are on the everyday market, that's hours of looking.

    • Yeah, I ended up buying something from The Gamesmen. Everything I saw at Gameology's looked to have a huge markup. Gamesmen have some markup but it's nowhere near as bad.

      • Actually it is still better than their 42th bday 10% off.

But first you have to risk if TCB can successfully track your cashback or not.

        • -1

Yeah, I basically treat cashback as a bonus. It's great but, if I don't get it it's not the end of the world. I don't understand the people that are going for $200 let alone $700 cashback. What if it doesn't track?

Seems like a bait and switch deal. Offer a big cash back and then cut it down when they realise they aren’t able to keep their end of the deal and they’re losing money.

    • +3

Woolworths has been losing money from the get go anyway when TopCashback/ShopBack/Cashrewards offer 20%+ cashback

But we have some form of confidence when we have a rep like TA who will back us if it gets declined

      • +3

The point stands that this is literally a bait and switch deal. Why is it being offered to us if those behind it aren’t able to support it.

        • +2

Maybe they haven’t considered how massive the purchases are going to be when OzBargain community hops onto it :)

Not really a fair neg to my comment when I didn’t even neg your comments that negged the deal…

      • +6

Actually TCB earns my trust only because TA is there.

        • +1

Agreed - I got (profanity) over by Cashrewards when they’re refusing to pay my Optus transaction

      • losing money? customer acquisition and marketing. cost of doing business.

        • More so to get awareness I think - once they have achieved this, we may see lower cashback rate going forward

  • +1

    $50 cap from 1PM soon

    • +8

All orders will attract a 35% surcharge from 3pm.

    • 25 after 2pm

  • +1

    The number keeps falling down…

  • Got a stand mixer before 11am. Let’s see if it tracks.

  • was looking for something else but just realised I reach the cap now

  • +2

Bait and switch. Almost pulled the trigger and noticed it had been reduced to $200

  • everyday market is really a joke, I tried to order a few things a couple of times, and all of them were cancelled.

    • I agree it's a joke. Most products marked up to stupid prices and navigating and searching is awful. I guess that's why Woolworths have to pay us to use it.

However, I ordered something from the Gamesmen using the previous 25% Topcashback deal and it tracked and was shipped quickly. I guess look for the decent sellers like Gamesmen and Wireless1.

  • So at the current $200 cap, the optimal max spend is ~$570?

  • Is there anything that can be done if the seller cancels without any reason? I had Wireless1 cancel an order even though it's still listed on Everyday Market

  • +4

    Thanks! Cashback tracked perfectly!

Picked up something from The Gamesmen I’ve wanted for a while. Paid about half what it’s retailing for elsewhere - ripper deal!

    • +1

Mines not tracked yet. Same from gamesmen.

      When did you order?

      • +1

Also curious. My order was 2 hours ago and still not tracked. I've taken screenshots of everything just in case I need proof, but hopefully I'm just being paranoid — haha, I spent a LOOT of money that I wouldn't have normally spent…

        • Mine is 08:15 and still not tracked.

          And I'm starting panicking.
