Are these any good? Haven't been able to find many reviews from my usual trusted sources..
Honestly not sure, haven’t followed in a long time.
But turns out I have the g pro mouse and not the superlight. Same same but older.
Considering newer and hopefully slightly better, and different more ergonomic shape, I pulled the trigger on model D 2 pro.
We shall see I guess…
They're quite good. I've used Glorious mice, Delux Mice, Attack Shark mice, Logitech mice, pretty much any brand I've used. I started getting into mice with a Glorious Model D and I've had this specific mouse too, but I ended up selling it for a Delux M900 Pro (similar shape) which was cheaper (till now) and comes in White (main reason I switched), as well as 6000 Hz wireless polling (on average but it can reach 8000 Hz as a high point though).
Glorious mice were basically a meme in the enthusiast mice sphere since like 2019 (known for a while as overpriced and catering to casuals) and they weren't really a serious brand till they brought out these Model D 2 Pro and Model O 2 Pro mice last year for the enthusiast crowd. The Model D 2 Pro here is a 1000 Hz variant, there's also a 4000 Hz wireless/8000 Hz wired variant for $89 on PCCG. The Model D 2 Pro is essentially a Zowie EC2 or Razer Deathadder alternative, it's got a decent coating, good shape for right handed ambi users and generally good performance (was top of the line last year), decent battery too unlike previous Glorious wireless mice. Biggest complaint I can give is that it feels a bit cheap compared to Deathadder V3, but a solid and cheap alternative now with okay-ish QC. There are white variants of these coming, Glorious has teased them on their website and such, so I assume PCCG will stock them eventually.
In summary you can't really go wrong if you're holding out for a Deathadder V3 Pro, go out and get one of these at this price, you get local warranty. Running at 4000Hz polling isn't really needed for competitive gaming and will need to be charged more often. At $59 I can recommend these, thats pretty cheap, these are a chuck job if anything goes wrong out of the warranty and you buy a new one. To put this into perspective you can buy like 3 of these for the price of one Deathadder V3 Pro and if you wanted a Deathadder V3 the wired version they go for like $79, which will perform better but if you're like me and you love wireless then get this. Some people recommend the Attack Shark R1 as a cheap alternative to these ($28) with a similar shape, but with a worse sensor and terrible QC/firmware from Attack Shark (the unit I got is defective and the wireless doesn't work where the mouse skips around) I cannot recommend the R1 from Attack Shark personally.
As for my Delux M900 Pro, they're like $67 on AliExpress, very good mouse and great bang for buck alternative to a Deathadder, but when I switched the Model D 2 was like a $140 mouse. But considering this is cheaper and from a local store, I'd get the Glorious over that unless you really want a certain colour like me and higher polling. If you want a very, very good alternative with a similar shape to either of these that's a bit more pricey but is basically Razer quality at a cheaper price, buy the ATK Z1 Ultra on AliExpress, $100-ish dollars for a top sensor, amazing coating, top of the line battery life and software, 8000 Hz wireless polling if you want it and at a very cheap price. Even the ATK Z1 Pro Max is outstanding at $92, it just uses the regular 3950 sensor not the 3950 Ultra like the Z1 Ultra does, which has higher DPI options which you probably won't need.
Hope that answers your question.
TL;DR: Good for this price, was a terrible deal at $160 like it was at launch. Cheaper than some alternatives and decent quality. Can't really go wrong at $59. White units are on the way too. If you want something better with a similar shape for 80% more, buy ATK Z1 on AliExpress.
Have you tried Lamzu? Specifically Lamzu Thorn…I have seen that mouse praised a fair bit in various forums/reviews but after reading your comment I am very keen to get your thoughts on it if you have tried it. Thanks.
@Shaun Prawn: Tried it, shape is different to other ergos that I listed here, it's also a smaller mouse than the other ergos too. So if you have big hands, don't buy it, very uncomfortable imo. If you're an ambi user, it's closer to an ambi than an ergo, but I think it's like an awkward in between sort of shape that doesn't know what it wants to be. I'm a small guy but my hands are big, so I found it bad to use and the shape didn't gel with me.
Mind you I'm not an exclusive ergo user, I've used the VXE R1 which is an ambi mouse and found it useable and I've also use the Darmoshark M3-S just fine, bit smaller but useable, the Thorn just I wanted it off my desk ASAP which I can't say of the ambi mice. I also think the specs are kind of old now for the price Lamzu commands, I guess that's what happens when it's a year old. I mean like I said Delux M900 Pro is like $67 and has better polling and the same sensor for like 1/2 the price, pretty much the M900 Pro is a better mouse or similar for cheaper. And the Glorious is cheap despite being capped at 1000 Hz, just for the local warranty and the price alone, I'd pick it over the Thorn, shape is better too imo.
Lamzu make good mice, if they were half the price I'd recommend them, but their pricing really hurts them. Just like Pulsar, solid mice from Pulsar as well but the price is "premium" and not exactly worth it, when I know VXE or VGN or ATK or Delux will bring out the same shape for way cheaper with the same quality (or better). The Thorn's coating's nice, as is the performance when it came out, but Lamzu can't exactly compete anymore and they've lost their place in the market, just like G.Wolves did. G.Wolves at one point was the enthusiast mouse company like Finalmouse was, but when you ask people for $180 AUD for that kind of price I'd just go Logitech or Razer, far more solid options and at least they get the shapes and QC right, not to mention warranty, service and availability is better. Plus, I just found G.Wolves started making mice too slowly to keep up with the standards, same with Finalmouse. Eventually the Chinese factories outpaced them, VGN/VXE/ATK are super solid these days that I basically recommend them, you get a top tier mouse for half the price with good shape options, decently good at reading what the market wants, good software and good QC. Maybe one day that will change but for now, there's no reason to look beyond VGN/VXE/ATK for the budget options unless you're going for Razer or Logitech. All the other companies just ask too much in terms of price now. Unless you have a niche mouse like WLMouse with the Beast X where you have a good magnesium shell or Finalmouse with their carbon UltralightX mouse you can't command a price above $100 AUD really.
My biggest gripe other than price with Lamzu is that Lamzu makes weird shapes which just never gel with me, the Thorn didn't gel with me, the Maya didn't either, the Atlantis was too small too for me but it was a good shape at least. I have not tried the Lamzu Paro which is closer to a traditional Ergo, so maybe look into that, but it's small too. But I pretty much gave up on Lamzu like I gave up on G.Wolves or Pulsar, too expensive, low stock on release, meh QC and cheaper options from other Chinese mice factories come along that are worth waiting for. I just find Pulsar and Lamzu were too slow with their releases. Like if you wanted a good ambi Viper clone last year, I would've said just buy the Delux M800 Ultra it's basically a Viper Pro but cheaper. If you wanted an amazing ambi for the price last year too I would've just pointed to the VXE R1 or the VGN F1, rather than buying a Pulsar X2. As for ergos last year there weren't many Pulsar waited till like November/December for the Xlite V3 which was supposed to come out in March so they bungled it. The Thorn was probably the only option last year other than the DaV3, so my recommendation would've been the DaV3, but now there's way more options to the point where I don't recommend Razer any more for ergo users.
In fact, mice have become hyper competitive to the point where there's so many now that you basically can just buy a budget one and get an incredible mouse and a few years ago that wasn't true, but yeah my recommendation is this:
$40-50 VXE R1 for budget ambi users
$59 - Glorious D 2 for local warranty and cheap price for ergo option, if the price increases just go with M900 Pro I don't like Attack Shark R1 for the poor QC, bad firmware and lower end sensor. Maybe you can get the M900 non pro from Delux but the sensor is a massive downgrade to the same on the Attack Shark R1.
$69 - M900 Pro for ergo mid range or budget users
$90-$100 - ATK Z1 For enthusiast ergo users on a budget
$90-120 - ATK F1/X1 for enthusiast ambi users on a budgetPremium options:
Razer DaV3 Pro for ergo users
Razer Viper V3 Pro or Logitech Superlight 2 for ambi usersCan't really go wrong with those options.
@KARMAAA: Hi mate,
I previous got deathadder V2 which is kinda perfect fit , now I replaced it by v3 but my pinky finger keeps touching mousepad.
Any recommendations for big hand palm grip?
@GY666: Honestly, that's one of the biggest mice on the market, it's actually larger than the Deathadder V2 and even then the shape hasn't changed that much esopecially on the pinky side, your hands must be huge. My best bet is to try and find a new grip like getting comfortable with claw grip or slightly modify your palm grip so that your pinky is not on the mousepad. Most mice these days are small mice that come out and the DaV3 is one of the largest mice on the market, there's not really any better options. Xlite V3 Large is basically the same size so…. Yeah grip change is your best bet or regress to the Deathadder V2 if that somehow helps your pinky not hit the mousepad.
@KARMAAA: Thanks a lot!!
I might check out Xlite V3 Large and give it a go.
Have a great day ahead !
@KARMAAA: Wow 😅. I see you know your mouses well. Thanks for all that information.
found the /r/mousereview user
ok is this better than Logitech gamming mouses?
Ah not sure mate but it more compared to super light it looks like and person above sounds like what they are talking about and seem to say they are alright.
Tempted to try it out for $59 but i do enjoy my basilisk ultimate. Probably shouldn't!
Yeah, I vote recent cheap 3395/3950 mice.
I dont recommend the mouse at all. If you are just using the mouse for the basic hardware its good. The software on the other hand is completely broken.
Macro, reassigning buttons etc are the worst experience ever.Yeah… I'm using this mouse and the mouse itself is Great but so many problems with software. For some reason mine doesn't charge with pc off or even with charger if pc isn't connected so I have to make sure to charge it while I'm on my pc…
The software is completely broken.
I have the glorious keyboard and version 2.0 is missing keys for remapping that the previous version (which I am using again) has, like.I could imagine the mouse portion to be not that much better.
glorious mice have bad build quality, wouldnt recommend
I've been using the Model O Pro 4K/8K since April. Got it to replace my busted Razer Viper since they have a very similar shape and honestly I was chomping at the bit to be free of Synapse. Pretty impressed overall. Solid construction and no creaking. With firmware updated zero sensor issues. Battery life is respectable. Few people here seem to have issues with the software but I'm not one of them. It is lightweight, unintrusive and gets the job done for me. I only got the 4K/8K version since they were the same price on amazon at the time. I honestly haven't really noticed a difference between the standard 1k polling rate. For $59 I think its a pretty great pickup.
this or a keychron M3 mouse hmmm.
Ive had 2 of these mice break , one after 2 weeks and one after a year ! I wouldn't be recommending them to anyone else sadly .
this exact mouse? or diff glorius
This model isn't a year old so probably different model. I've used a model D (original wired) for 2 years now and really like it so just picked this up to ditch the wire as most reviews seemed to reckon it was better QC than older models. (Forge D pro has terrible QC)
are you still using the glorious mouse
@dwjjaidwoks: Yeah still using the model D wired. The shape seems to work for my hands but obviously mice are extremely personal preference. Does sound like the wireless variety have software issues sometimes but decided I'd still try ordering this anyways as I don't want to gamble a new shape.
true you are right,it was a different model , the glorious model O i think , either way it doesnt fill me with confidence
Doesnt have enough buttons on the side :/ need at least 6
If I didn't already have the Model D Pro I'd jump on this, apparently it's just a better version of the predecessor which is already an excellent mouse. Still might buy it anyway lol. Only con from the original is a creaking noise when squeezing the mouse and software is awful, not a big issue for me though.
Tempting but this doesn't have bluetooth mode?
nah, alot of mice dont have bluetooth think its more latency iirc
One of these days I'm going to finally convince myself that no matter how good my gear is, I still won't beat a 12 year old at Fortnite in build mode.
Tempting, but I'll still be stuck fighting in silver
Already have superlight but still so tempted…
