LCD screens are unusable after using OLED
But you could probably say the same about pancake vs fresnel lenses.
Yep, the only difference with LCD and OLED is visual, while there's a big tradeoff in comfort going from pancake lenses to fresnel lenses. I hate the feeling of looking through a pair of binoculars with a small sweet spot and warped edges.

Checked with my local store, they checked the 'discount list', they couldn't find the VR2 as discounted, will check another store later today

Called up my local, and they're doing the sale. Guy on the phone said "I've been selling a lot today, so you need to be quick". He said he wasn't sure why the price wasn't showing up online, said it "might be an in-store only sale".
What store was this? I've checked three different stores in my area and no dice - they are only doing it at $879

Set Liverpool as the store on the website, and you’ll see its all OOS. Unlikely for a store to just completely run out of stock despite being in stock yesterday and this morning, unless… there was a sale.
Just seems like my local started the deal too early.
I went to my local store. The worker said he was aware of this sale coming but its not running yet. He assumes those workers read their sheet wrong and will get in significant trouble if its still up. He said it is a sale that should be coming fairly soon!

Checked my local EBgames today, employee wasn't aware of it & double checked for me, told me the price might take affect within a couple days depending on which state you're in.
Definitely no sale on currently. No way you're getting it for this price.
is psvr2 pretty much the same lens as quest 2 but OLED?
I had q2 but sold due to trouble finding that sweet spot all the time and screen been blurry most of the time
I hear this is not an issue with q3 but with q3 the trade off is not OLED screenhopefully meta can make q3 pro with OLED which would solve all the issues it seems?
Issue is the clearer pancake lenses of the Q3 allows only 12.5% of the displays light through them, which means they're incompatible with OLED display currently. The solution to this is micro oled but they're so expensive they're not expected to be in a meta product until the Quest 5.
Right now the only option is clarity or Oled.
i really hated q2 display, not sure i can go back to that but they say psvr2 has eye tracing that fixes the blurry image problem.

Im currently in the market for pcvr and going with Q3. The portability alone is worth it.
I guarantee this is a temporary sale with other retailers as well just as Sony has done in other regions. It isn't happening today but seeing as though the sale is supposed to end September 1st, surely it will kick off tomorrow?
yep I went to one store (chadstone) and the guy said to check midnight or tomorrow morning . Went to a second store (Doncaster) and they were useless - tried to convince me they had no idea and weren’t aware of any sale lol.

EB doesn’t have per store sales. Looks like the store OP posted broke the deadline early , I imagine every other store should go live at midnight to tomorrow morning

Bought it for ~$900 at launch but only played for roughly 1 hour by now…
Yeah that will be the bulk experience of most people that purchase. Along with drones and treadmills.
For drones you look it up online and everything is good (official websites or anything close to it for public paths).
You get there, and no drone sign is up.
Caught out too many times, that it gets annoying.
Yeah there's too many restrictions with drones that it discourages you.
Likelihood of other games been released for VR? Seems like Sony has abandoned this
It'll be awesome if they paired the new AstroBot game with the PSVR2.
Zero chance for a Sony developed game. Third party sees to be strong though. Of course you can also get those games on a Quest 3 or PC.
