Sometimes they need a coke raspberry to remind people of classic coke

Alright I'll be the one to ask:

Do you think this is due to overstocking the game expecting it to fly off the shelves and it didn't due to the reputation it received?

    • +5

At least for the playstation it could be, as it was part of PS+ so I imagine a lot of people on PS didn't need to buy the physical?

    • +11

I think this is the marketing/sales team realising the only way they are even going to make a cent with this game is by aggressively slopping it out to the masses and hoping they create some fans of Dragon Age and/or Bioware. Leaving this game at $110 or whatever RRP is would just be leaving this game to die a meaningless death.

    • +1

Its probably that Anthem and Andromeda caused the bulk of gamers to no longer trust Bioware as a brand. When the reviews and audience were lukewarm about it on release, and then it was part of PS plus, I assume a lot of people thought they would just wait to get it for free. But yea, I assume retailers did not forecast it not selling cause even Andromeda sold over $100mil worth.

    • +2

I mean they havent even broken even with this game, they definitely had higher hopes for it, the amount of marketing this game received was insane.

    • Yes.

    • I think it might be because the game suck

  • +13

$109 for controller and game. Or approx $40 for the game, really. It's not really a deal imho unless it's a freebie for something you were about to buy anyway

  • +9

    Cost to Coaster

    • It's cheaper for them to ship it to you so you can throw it into your own bin.

  • +15

It's this meant to be an incentive or disincentive?

      @ironworthy

      It’s Ironic worthy

Some people hate the game, but love commenting on anything that involves it. Does Freud explain?!

When you wanted to see an old friend again, only to realise that your friend is dead and there's a twisted monster wearing their corpse as a skinsuit, you'd cheer when that monster burns.

  • +2

Cheers, this is a great deal for me

  • +1

I saw a sign for this at EB today as well maybe it’s a Sony thing?

    • JB is also doing this deal.

I guess they're doing anything they can to get rid of their stock. Its also on sale for $44 at JB.

"PLEASE TAKE IT, YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THE BARV ANYMORE"

Probably cheaper to give them away then to send it back to ea headquarters, just imagine all the millions of unsold copies going back to ea.

    • +6

They'll all get buried next to the ET games.

My wife's boyfriend bought me this game and I love it. Definitely recommended!

    • +4

      I thought you'd appreciate it.

    • +1

Funny enough also my wife’s girlfriend brough me one too!

    • I didn't realise it was on Switch.

    "This will sell our console!"

  • +8

Not that I don't appreciate a gaming bargain, but time is a more important price than the monetary value of games for me. I already have a backlog of games that I'm struggling to get enough time to play. No way would I spend valuable time on this slop.

I hate to admit it, but I think Bioware is dead. It has become a Ship of Theseus that is helmed by Captain Cringe.

    • +4

      Stop insulting slop

    I really do.

Just like I don’t like this Game.

I replaced my broken controller (drift stick) under warranty last week and the JBHIFI guy gave me this game for free for a “promo” they were running. I didn’t ask any questions but sure was confused

  • +3

My kid needed a new PS5 controller anyway & I didn’t want to share my duel sense edge controller so this was an ok deal for me. I viewed this as essentially ~$79 for the newest gen ps5 chroma controller as I’m just gonna flip the veil guard game brand new for ~$20 to sell it.

Not interested in the veil guard EA junk

    • $79 is how much the Dualsense was going for at Big W during Black Friday last year. I know because I bought a few controllers.

    • +2

Update 21st April: upon click & collect today I was told most if not all Big W stores don’t actually have the game in stock and they don’t have to honour the deal as it’s while stocks lasts. So I just refunded my pickup order on the spot. Just FYI.

  • +3

Game hasn’t aged well with recent rulings in Britain

  • +4

Might be bundled with AC: Shadows soon.

  • Unfortunately, the discount code cannot be used on consoles.
