            • @U30004: Thanks, doesn't say anywhere on JB's website - this post only refers to 'same concept as JB Hifi' - not same deal. I'll go have a look.

@Fancydancer: Look at the original post. It says same deal in jb

A MBA is worth a $1000 less than what apple are asking for one and the M4 with V9 instruction set is just around the corner! I bought an Lenovo 16" laptop with an AMD 8/16 16gb 512gb for <$1100 delivered with a bigger battery for 12hr continous use web/video use, way more just for web surfing. Its slim, its fast it lasts for ages and with steam and the amd gpu I have games too. I cant recomend the qualcom new x86 windows machines but the Lenovo for the money kicks ass! You can do better for less now and ironically, im typing this on my M2 MBP as the Lenovos in my bedroom as its wifi reach is better than the MBP

Oh for <$1200 I could have a 1tb HD and for under <$1500 I could have gotten a 32tb and OLED screen, kicking apples ass up and down the street!

    • How long does the mbp battery last with same usage?

    • +2

@srhardy Nobody ask for your opinion mate.

  • Bought the 14” M3 16GB/512GB Midnight on Saturday price-matching Officeworks for $2297.. same like @Endynos, finished in 40-45 minutes.

Tried to return it as I wanted another colour.. they said they cant refund the full $1400 giftcard.. they will only return $800 worth of the giftcard plus whatever i paid via credit card. They said it was because it was linked to the telstra promo.. so they didn’t actually give me a giftcard with the $1400 to begin with.

Anyone know how i can ensure a full amount return/refund?

    • OW don't let you exchange colours?

      • They didnt have any other colours other than midnight.. and the only store that has it is like an hour and a half drive.. haven’t asked for a different config tho

    • Every store has different opinions about this. I cannot see any problem getting another colour

    • try another store

    • Might be out of luck there. I couldn't change colour from an out of stock colour and had to wait for it to be transferred from another store, even though we were still in the process and i hadn't paid for it yet. Something Something linked to telstra blah blah.

So maybe just get a dBrand skin from the big savings if you dont like the colour

    • I followed @Brakus advice and went to TGG Blacktown and they refunded me straight away.. then I used the refund to buy their Macbook Pro 16” M2 Pro 16gb/512gb for $1990 (20% off $2488 as it was on clearance)

      So out of pocket $1990 - $1400 = $590 paid with $600 worth of For Him GC (getting $60 in Rewards Dollars) + $99 + $766.6 = $1465.6

PS: There is still one more 16” M2 Pro 16gb/512gb on clearance at TGG Moore Park but it is an opened box ex display for $2488 (they are willing to give an extra 20% off because of it)

      • Nice. It’s always like that. Different store different experience

      • $1990 for a m2 16' pro. That's crazy. Are they willing to offer another 20% off of 1990 for the opened box?

        • No, so it’s 20% off $2488 because it was an opened box..

          • @tukangbakso: Is it possible to share the receipt? I just found out that my local store has 1 unit. But they are asking $2347 for it. They might reduce if I show your receipt.

  • Just bought M3 256 with Apple AOC UNION price match to 1582.90 (had a few issues getting the price match done) but eventually worked out well.

    • macbook air m3 8gb 256gb 2024?

        • Hmm ok, with this deal* we're paying $1162 for that device.

.. * Sign up for plan > immediately cancel

          • @overthinking: What I meant was I got GCC to price match to this price. so I have essentially paid 1047.9 for the device using this deal and price match (and the GST which I will claim)

      • The Good Guys Maribyrnong

    • Damn, the M3 256 is 1539 now.

  • JB Macbook airs are on sale.

    • Great but deal ending

    • @AirJordan23 Did you end up getting the deal and priced match ..?

      • No need to price match it is on their website. M2 for $1297, M3 $1497, and M3 15 $1897. Price changed happened around 4 pm, so it was still 2 hours before closing

        • Damn $200 cheaper then what I paid after price matching

  • This is the best priceso far if anyone
    price matching.

    • They refused to price match with this store for me.

      • I got price matched to amazon for $1411

When does this Telstra deal end?

  • Hi,
    Couple of questions:
    - How long should I use the mobile plan at a minimum before requesting for a cancellation via telstra web chat?
    - As per critical information summary on the TGG mobile plans, the following is mentioned:

    "Can I cancel my plan?
Yes, you can cancel your plan at any time by calling us on 13
50 88 or visiting a The Good Guys store. When you cancel,
your service will be disconnected immediately. We won’t
refund any money you’ve already paid and you’ll need to pay
out any remaining Voucher Repayment Fee."

Does this mean I still need to pay back the voucher amount (prorated)?

    Thanks in advance!

    • You only pay 766$ if cancelled in the first month. Cancel via telstra chat

    • +1

I cancel my plan very next day through chat didn’t get charged $99 monthly fee but they charge me $799.92 instead of $766 which is usually after one month

      • That's strange - they should have charged you the first $99 in store?

        • I still can’t figure that part out as to why some Telstra accounts let them pay for the first month at a later date

  • Ended up getting the M3 8GB for $962 due to a major (profanity) up by Telstra and Good Guys. Would be too long to explain but happy to explain to anyone who dm's me.
