  • Minimum plan cost being $2376…guessing it's $1100 off the inflated plan cost not off the phone's RRP itself.

Goodguys also has the similar promo but it is general gift card.

I noticed this earlier today, that the $89/$1100 deal was back.

      I wonder if they/JB will run a $89/$1200 deal for Boxing Day….

    • JB & GG both same owner.

  • Can we move from JBHiFi plan to GoodGuys plan ?

    • +2

No if you read the conditions they list each other, Telstra and boost as exclusions.

Replace your current mobile plan and your NBN plan.
300GB should be enough for anyone.

    • +4

      So was 640k…

    • +3

You can't even download the latest COD with 300GB.

    • Okay Mr Turnbull…

Howcome a plan that expensive doesn't have International calls included to at least Tier-1.

  • Is this only for Samsung Phones?

    • +1

I think I saw the same for iPhone

  • If I cancel the plan the next day, will I get a refund of $89

    • +4

did it twice recently. 1st time no issue. 2nd time it was not refunded. The agent threatened to block my account

      • @armyofme Did the agent give any reasons for not refunding the second cancellation?

        • said that I was told that its non refundable when signing up at the store

  • I jumped to Voda from Telstra on 2nd of December, Can I join this one now?

    • yeah would be keen to know what cheap porting in i can use to port back in to this..

      • I heard there gonna be 28 days waiting period since moved out from Tesltra but haven't seen this condition on the policy anywhere

Wow, who's spending $89 per month on their mobile phone plan? Secondary question is who's using 300GB of mobile data per month?

    • +1

but you can get a $1100 JB Hi-Fi Gift Card

    • +2

Can see why you think that. But I'm going to use this for my 4G home internet (I live rurally). Currently spending $65 for 250GB, might as well spend an extra 25-30/mo and get a gift card for upgrading my old phone.

    • My phone plan is reimbursed by my employer so it makes sense to cycle though these deals.

    • Yeh it's $89 per month but you get an $1100 Gift Card at the time of sign up.
When you take into account the value of the gift card it's the equivalent of paying $43 a month.

  • +2

Effective cost is $43.17 per month, not a terrible deal for 300Gb per month 5G coverage. But also not awesome.

The listed plan total cost is incorrectly based on $99 per month, rather than $89. The actual total cost over 24 months is $2136.

  • Is international roaming allowed for an extra charge?

    • Yes, $5/$10 2GB per day depends on the zone

  • Can someone reccomend an easy prepaid sim to port out from current JB hifi plan and back in? prefeably something I can do on web and wont mess up the port?

    • +1

      felix mobile, $10 per month

  • +2

Not really ideal for anything unless you have a corporate mobile package which you have to upload your bills

  • +2

Half a day and not one comment about cancellation fees. This must be a record!

  • Do they still do the $10 port in credit per month?

    • I signed up today as a port in customer and as soon as my SIM was activated, I went to My Telstra app to chat and ask for $10 port in credit. I got rejected, the customer service guy said I already had the $10 from JB Hifi. Maybe I should try again one day.

What's the best way to get the best deal out of this? Sign up , port your number, get 1100$ gift card and then call to cancel the next day? what's the repayment fee?

  • On JB website https://www.jbhifi.com.au/pages/upfront-mobile-plans
it says "Available to port-in customers" for $89 plan & "Available to new and port-in customers" for $79 plan.
Does it mean the 300GB $89 plan is not available to NEW customers, or mistake?

  • +1

Does it get much better at boxing day sales or is this pretty good? Looking at getting an iPhone 16 Pro with the gift card.

  • So cancellation fees are about $760 like last time? (Provided they refund u free first month)

  • Out of curiosity, if you cancel the plan early, does the device get locked to the Telstra network or anything?

  • +2

Looks like the Giftcard is going back to $1000 for Boxing Day from the catalogue https://catalogue.jbhifi.com.au/2024/12/12-21-eoym/11/index.…

    • Weird, would have thought it would be better value at Boxing Day Sales

  • does anyone know if the trick to cancel the existing number and reassigning the number back to the "new" number we sign up with JB still works?

    • Am curious about this too, I've done this for the past few years but I feel like now that there is segregation between JB and Telstra plans that it might not be possible now?

Given that you do profit anyway from the gift card vs the payout amount, I'm inclined to give it a go anyway.

      • Did you get it to work?

My plans are already with jb hi fi anyway.

Only thing is, I was given a $30 monthly credit, making my plan $69 a month 😂

        • My plan expired on the 27th so I won't be trying until then

  • i am going overseas soon, is it possible to delay the plan's start after the Christmas/ January break?
