    Will JB price match?

    • +2

No because its not an offer available to the general public.

      • I got JB to price match.

They nearly didn't because they saw your comment, but I won in the end.

    • Yes

      • In store or online? Online wouldn't price match for me

        • +1

In store… I showed that anyone can access the discount, and the manager agreed he could check out without proving membership.

    AOC is so fine

    • +1

      Took me a minute

      • Had to Google…. Went way over my head..

    • +1

Always rated Oxlade-Chamberlain as a midfielder.

      • -1

only when he was a gooner

        • Yeah because Wenger utilised him so well playing him at Right Wing Back.

  • +3

With these CPUs, people don't need any faster, but they would need cheaper…
From a day-to-day use perspective M1 is more than fast enough - yet, here we are, forced to pay more for speed we don't need

    • +4

This. Would much prefer a M1 with 16gb for the same price as a M2

    • They only came out a week ago you could probably find a new m1 MBA around somewhere. Unfortunately the tech industry is built on advancement, advancement sells units.

    • +2

They added some nice features like hardware encoding into the M3..

If I was doing a encoding of video I would grab the M3

    • +1

So true. I'm using the M1 MBA now and it's more than sufficient for my work. But the problem is if Apple sells the M1 MBA for $800 or so, no one will buy the M2 or M3 MBA.

  • Now I just need a 10% off Apple gift card!!!

  • +3

M3 Macbook Air finally fixed the issue of slow SSD in M2 (back to dual SSD modules like M1)

  • +1

Was better with the back to school gift card a few weeks ago I think

  • +1

Expecting a Macbook Air M3 today bought from Education Store for $1649 with 5% gift card and $240 Gift card from Apple.

    • +1

I shoulda pulled the trigger on a new one for tax purposes of course haha

  • no $240 gift card with this one however that deal must have ended.

  • +1

No gift card as expired on the 13th

I had been waiting to pull the trigger on the new Air M3. Owning M1 16gb 1tb since it's came out, I honestly can't see a reason seeing how fast is the M1 and never let me down. For the very first time in my life, I can't see any reason to upgrade as of yet. And hey, 60hz screen on the brand new release… Since I don't mind it in the M1 but 4 years later and they doing it to us again?

    • ive been waiting on the new model, so ill get one. but tbh i did think the performance might leave the m1 a bit more in the dust. was also hoping for a slight remodel of the formfactor introduced on the m1 refresh. obviously part of the apple silicon styling which im not a fan of, the pros are too tanky… but the ridiculous thin taper of the original airs is why i love the laptop, just hyper-portable. /bateman-voice.

aside from dual monitor support, theres nothing all that major if you're on the prev model.

    • From M1 to M2, you got a nice wider screen and the magsafe to charge next to toddler or if you need the two others usbc. So it is worst it. From M2 to M3, unless you bought a 8/256 entry version, there is little to no reason.

I got the M2 16/512. Even though I'm oing overseas next week, the TRS refund is not enough to make the swap interesting.

    • I just upgraded from the base model M1 to the 16gb/512gb M3 last weekend. It’s at least twice as fast!

      • having twice the memory might also help :)

  • are they still selling the old m1?

    • you can buy from apple refurb shop, stock popping up every now and then

    • Yea but I doubt they’ll make any more.

Anyone having issues getting payment authorised at Apple Store with this? I tried 4-5 different banks including someone else’s card all work fine but none could process this transaction

  • Thanks for the notification. Great deal considering being waiting for a long time to get a new laptop. Instead of paying for an overpriced GPU for gaming, paying for an overpriced laptop lol!

Just pulled the trigger. for M3 Air 15" 16gb/512gb. My problematic 2017 Intel-based touchbar on its last days with various issues creeping out.

PS. No problem paying via Apple Pay on Safari Mac.

Playing with a macbook is a huge source of frustrations. So much you could do if only apple allowed it. For emulation, it's great. However, for pc game, don't expect either great compatibility and performance.

      • Thanks. Never bought it for gaming anyway, completely aware being a Mac user over 20 years. Been waiting to updating my GPU since 2020 and with the GPU prices/performance, ended up buying a PS5 last year since I can even play some games at 120fps on my tvs.

  • M1 MacBook Airs with 16GB + 256/512GB SSDs are becoming readily available for around $800 second hand. I imagine that price will fall further as some people upgrade to the M3.

That is significantly better value than a base model M3 at twice the price, imo.

    • Nice! Is this 2nd hand from gumtree etc?
'Refurbrished ones' from likes of reebelo get 1 year warranty which I like the sounds of, but is $1000 for 'excellent' condition

      • Where are you seeing $1k for a 16gb one? I see $950 for a base model 8gb on Reebelo. I’ve not seen a single M1 MBA on any platform for $1k or less.

    • Beware of what?

  • +1

O/W price beat for M3 13 inch base at $1503.76 after explaining to manager that price was available to general public. He did a dummy purchase and then was fine to beat. Not as good as with gift card deal but needed it now, thanks OP!

    • Can you share the receipt?

  • can you buy this with apple gift cards?

  • do they check eligibility if you pick up in store?

  • It looks the cashreward 1.3% eligible for MacBook air M3 with Gift card paid

  • Now with 16gb as standard on all models, finally we don't have to complain about "only 8gb ram"
