Thought I could buy it now, but I just saw it will start after 9:01am. Nearly missed it.

  • So 6% value at $250 along with the already 3% off

    • +18

      $200 is better value

      $200 + 1400 points (~$7) = $207 WW credit for $194 (3% off $200) which equates to ~ 6.28% off if I'm not wrong

      • +1

I’m not sure of the calculation, but wouldn’t $150 (1000 points) with $4.5 off be the best sweet spot ?

        • +3

          Marginally worse - you'll pay $145.5 for $155 value, 6.13% discount

      • +1

At this point it's barely worth all the messing around though either sadly.

        • MacQuarie bank customers get 3.5% off Woolies gift cards so it is a lot of effort and commitment ($200 card) to get an extra $2.63

          • +1

@Maltopia: you can use your credit card to buy this and your credit card may have points or other benefits attached. with cost of groceries these days, spending $200 is not difficult at Woolies (assuming you don't shop at other stores like coles and Aldi).

For me 6% is still better than 3.5% and I know I am going to use that amount unfortunately.

      • +1

as i commented lower, i don't this so, the extra $50 gets you an extra 200 points ($1) so $48.5 for $51 is still 4.9% discount.

that's better than any giftcard discount available for woolies (4%) by 0.9% and perhaps even better if you would have used a wish card at ampol EG (3%) or the you pick card somewhere else thats <4.9% elsewhere.

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards#woo…

(note you can only claim the promo once)

        • +2

You need to keep in mind that most ozbargainers are trying to beat the standard of 6.25% off you get by regular enough prezzee bonus $10 offer for $150 gift cards

          • +1

@sub102: That has seem to dry up in recent times?

            • @Craze: Hmmm don't feel like that we'll see what the coming few months has on offer

      • -1

With NRMA you can get 4% off woolies egift cards. However, I'm unsure if the ER points will apply to that as well or not.

  • Tell whoever did the promotion mechanics at Woolies marketing that there is a calculator on their phone Sweet spot is at $200 instead of $250.

    • +1

not necessarily the best choice if you're still going to keep shopping at woolies after $200. the next marginal $50 will only be at best discounted 4%:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards#woo…
once you include that lost discount on the next $50 it should still be worth the $250 option.

(not to mention the pain of the extra expected split register payment at checkout on the margin)

      • +1

fair comment. always a balance between getting enough for your usage without going over the top. in the case of groceries an extra $50 might be a good idea

  • +1

The your pick card looks the pick
Can be used at eBay etc…

    >disclaimer may need to read fine print before ordering this card…

    Thanks Wookie

    • It clearly mentions the your pick. Are well happy this is available ?

  • Just remember it’s based on total spend. So you’ll want $207 on the card to make it $200 at the checkout for greatest return.

    • +8

      They changed it

The bonus points awarded for gift cards purchased through the Everyday Rewards app is based on the gift card’s face value, instead of the amount spent after applying the 3% discount.

      • Thanks, My bad. I didn’t see that in the description. Must have been all the backlash from confusion last time.

  • +1

Amex platinum edge can earn 3 times points as well

  • +6

I got this and 5x points in fresh meat.
I don’t think Woolies meat has ever been fresh tho

    • +1

      No danger of that.

    • -5

I will say meat from coles is fresher, especially when you get beef.

    • Colesworth is terrible for meat. Local IGA/ Foodland is always 50% less per kg minimum..and better quality.
Not entirely sure why, as general groceries are on average more expensive…but beef, pork, lamb, chicken …Colesworth don't get close.

  • Am I missing something or is it pointless to get anything other than a Wish or a Your Pick gift card?

    • Not if you only want groceries

      • +3

But there’s no extra discount for the gift cards that can be used for everything else as well as groceries … it would be silly to lock your funds into one place for no reason

        • -4

          Unless you ONLY want groceries

Like, you know you’re buying $200 of groceries and don’t have the money to spend on other things so you just buy a Woolworths card

        • +3

went with everday wish for this reason. also i think the benefit reduces since you can get the others for 4%-5% elsehwere.

    • +1

This is why I always buy wish.

On the odd chance I'll go to bws outside Woolies, I still have the benefit of discounted gift card

    • +1

Makes sense to me. Though you might still want to only use it at woolies since the other redemption options already have 5% discounted gift cards and woolies are only 4% at best:
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards#woo…
so only paying 1% for the points perk here instead of 2% or more.

EG Ampol might be even better value if you already get your fuel there, looks like they're already 3% at best so you're not losing anything to get the points.

    • It didn't work for the saved cards
It works after manually entering it

  • I never got the bonus points last time. I don't have the time to monitor if they give me the points and then take the time to complain if they don't.

    • +16

You had the time to tell us though

  • -1

So can anyone confirm if we have to buy $200 or $207?

    • +1

You will collect points based on the full value of the Qualifying Gift Card purchased before the 3% discount is applied when you purchase through the app.

      • Thank you, $200 it is then.

      • -1

        Soooo….should they buy $200 or $207??

        • $200 if you want 1400 points

  • +1

Cant make a payment… not sure what's wrong!!!

    • I have bought $200 and I have received the card and I have swap it to Wish card.

      • You bought via app or web?

      • +5

I'm curious if you just wanted the Wish gift card why didn't you just select it?

    • same here, got stuck on 'purchasing gift card' for the last ten minutes

    • Commbank blocked payment from both my debit and credit cards. Paid with St. George debit card.

    • same issue with my ANZ credit card

  • So about 2% better than RACV and less than half the hassle… easy choice aha

  • How come I don’t see the 3% discount🤦‍♂️

    • Its in the REwards App

      • +1

Yes under the discover tab>everyday gifting ✅️

  • Curiously on one of my accounts it came up as an offer to boost while on my other account no boost, but did mentioned the deal when I went to gift card purchase place in the app.

Bought one on each account. Let's see if both get points.

    • +2

The T&C's do state that "You do not need to boost this offer" so should be ok.

  • Are you able to split the Your Gift card into multiple various cards of different values when swapping it over?

    • +1

Yes. And you also don't have to swap the whole balance at the same time.

  • System not available error. Anyone is the same?
I am paying using zip pay.

  • 3% discount is not applied to neither Everyday WISH nor Your Pick Gift card at the check out.
Am I doing something wrong ?

    • +2

Are you going via the Rewards app ?

      discover >everyday gifting ✅️🎯

      • Yes, ok I'll give it another try.

      • Now it shows 3%. Thanks.

  • Will I get the points if I purchased with 5% senior discount?

    • -1

If you can link the rewards card to a purchase, it should work.

  • +1

I still have $180 left from the last deal. Given I usually shop at Coles, and have $1660 worth of Flybuys… I probably shouldn't bite this time, but chances are I will.

    • +2

But they do not expire so best to stock up when deals come along. I did not neg you.

    • $1660 worth of FB points! Why don't you redeem them?

      • I have been. It's going down slowly. Now that I'm cancelling my Citi Prestige with PayAll, it'll drop more rapidly.

  • Can I just confirm, when people say this 'Stacks with 3% off Selected eGift Cards on the Everyday Rewards app', does that mean we're meant to get 3 + 3% off so 6% off? I'm in my EDR app, in Everyday Gifting, i've added a $200 card to my cart and im only seeing a $6 discount..? and it says 3% discount being applied.. what am i doing wrong?

    • +1

This deal (i.e. the one you are commenting on) is only for bonus points when you purchase selected gift cards either through the Woolworths Group gift card portal or the Everyday Rewards app. There is no upfront discount for this deal.

This deal can be stacked with the ongoing 3% off selected eGift Cards sold through the Everyday Rewards app.

If you try to take advantage of both deals via the Everyday Rewards app, you will get the 3% discount immediately, plus you will get bonus points at a later date. The bonus points deal is not an upfront discount.

The discussion you appear to be referencing talks about the equivalent value of the bonus points in order to derive an equivalent upfront discount (but that assumes you value 2000 Everyday Rewards points at $10, which not everyone does).

      • +1

        thanks for that. my bad.

  • Thanks, I was going to buy a WW one anyways with the 3% off. Now just need those points to hit.

  • -1

I didn't get anything! I soon realised I forgot to activate before buying a gift card.
If anyone buying this, please don't forget to activate the deal in the Rewards app.

    • +1

You may not have received any bonus points, because bonus points for these deals are almost always not credited instantly. The terms and conditions of this offer (linked in the deal description) clearly says:

Your bonus points will take up to 14 business days to be loaded onto your Everyday Rewards Card after the end of the promotional period.

In the previous deal for Mother’s Day, people started receiving their bonus points 10 days after the deal ended.

You also do not need to boost this offer in the Everyday Rewards app before purchasing the gift card. Both the terms and conditions of this deal and the terms and conditions in the booster clearly says:

You do not need to boost this offer.

  • +1

Can you stack it with this Commbank Yello offer?
ie. Buy Woolworths giftcard from Special > put it on Google Wallet > use it to buy Wish card

    • +4

I tried by entering the Woolies Specials GC numbers but it didn't work on both Rewards app and browser

      • Thanks for trying and reporting back

  • +1

    Getting an error. Anyone else?

    • Also getting an error message when using an ANZ and NAB credit card.

      • Added my Amex card earlier and once I got the message from Amex saying was it me using the card it went thru.

Could be blocked by NAB or ANZ

        • +1

I'm also getting an error with CBA cards, wont process. Ended up using my Latitude card and went through fine.

          • +1

@katejessica: Same. CBA debit and credit cards blocked. SGB debit worked.

            • +1

@rokufan: Just fyi, From previous experienced, some credit cards have the gambling option turn off, I need to turn it on to buy some gift card from some platform.

              • @fishandchips: My CBA debit had the gambling lock off and my CBA credit card had it turned on, both were blocked. Thanks for the tip anyway.

    • Same here, tried a couple cards. Waste of time.

    • On VPN?

      • I don't have VPN enabled on my phone. It would appear a lot of banks are blocking any credit card transactions through the Rewards app.

        • Hmm.. got CBA Netcode after i disabled vpn

  • Keep getting:-

    Something went wrong

Your payment has been unsuccessful at this time Your card hasn't been charged.

Please try again using your Credit or Debit card.

Tried amex, Westpac and CBA. I think it's the rewards app rather than the cards.

    • I think it is the app also.

    • Vpn on?

      • Not working for me with vpn turned off. Went ahead of myself and bought it from the website without 3% just hoping the points would kick in

        • I am in the same boat. did it kick in?

          • @amorn: Not yet haha where do i go to report this? I def linked my rewards card.

  • Can you use the Woolworths Supermarket gift card to buy physical gift cards in store?

    • +1

      I highly doubt it.

      • It is against the terms and conditions of all gift cards issued by Woolworths Group to use them as a payment method for gift cards and vouchers.

      • If you try to use a Woolworths Supermarket gift card as a payment method for a gift card, the checkout should return an Items Not Allowed error as soon as you scan, swipe or enter the details of the gift card.

  • what payment methods accept when buying Gift Cards @ Woolworths Gift Cards? can we pay these gift cards by everyday rewards dollars? can we pay these gift cards by Woolworths store credit?

    • that would be nice, wasn't an option for me. just CC.

  • Which gift cards can you use at EG Ampol? I cant seem to find the EG Ampol fuel gift cards in store.

    • +2

In terms of gift cards issued by Woolworths Group (i.e. the ones available through this deal), the only ones redeemable at EG Ampol are:

      • EG
      • Essentials
      • Everyday WISH (aka WISH)

EG gift cards are not sold in a physical form (and never have), but Essentials and WISH gift cards are. Physical Essentials and WISH gift cards are sold in-store at Woolworths and BIG W, but only physical WISH gift cards are sold in-store at EG Ampol.

AmpolCash gift cards (physical and digital) are also redeemable at EG Ampol, but those cannot be purchased through this deal.
