  • Bosch UniversalLevel360 Self Levelling Cross Line Laser AU $118.00 with coupon code for me.

Edit: might be a coupon stack happening.

    • +1

      What coupon did u use

      • $20 off $100 min purchase for Ebay Plus members. Automatically appeared in my account.

        • Will it work if I join the trial now?

          • @Bii: Edit: the 40% off code seems to be automatic hence any other code should stack.

    • +2

Stacks with JULSNS for non plus numbers for $10 off.

  • How does this compare to: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/857993

    • they are different things. this projects a level cross, the other is a measuring device

      • +1

The adapters can do line, but only can do horizontal OR vertical at a given time.

    • The way I understand it, you still need to level the Zamo using the built-in spirit level to get a level laser line projected onto your working surface using that adaptor. If you are relying on a spirit level, then IMHO, that defeats the whole purpose of having a laser level in the first place. So its not the same.

      • You still need to level the tripod though too right? The zamo can be used on a ladder which provides same function as a tripod or am i missing something?

        • +2

No, You don’t need to have the Quigo perfectly level (you can be out as much as +/- 4 degrees) but still have a perfectly level line projected because it has a pendulum based self levelling mechanism. See this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LminYx477Bc (which is for a slightly different model with a green laser, but the principal is the same).

How does it compare to Ozito?

    • +4

When did Ozito become the benchmark? I thought Ozito was a use-once kind of brand.

      • +9

Ozito new tools are pretty good I like them. The bosch home are also entry level tools in my mind.

        • How much is the Ozito one and any deal?

      • +3

Certainly not the case for Ozito PXC. They are very good.

  • +2

hi Rep! any tripod to go with UniversalLevel360?

  • +1

Hey Rep - any sales on the 3-5 piece kits coming up? Wanna get one for my sister as she just brought a house but they have been full price for a while.

  • How does the cross line balance without the tripod?

    • +1

Tripods are usually a separate accessory. Recommend using the laser level with one

    • +2

While having a tripod is ideal, all you need is a stable way to keep the laser level fairly horizontal. You can use the provided clamp or simply place it on a flat surface. At home, I often clamp it to a nearby door frame, a piece of furniture like a bookcase or some other fixed object.

      • This… really no need for the tripod, and in an outdoor environment you can just use a ladder.

  • +2

I had this Laser Level before. Used couple of times and dead. Not recommend.

    • +41

How are you still posting if you are dead.

      • +14

At least we know he's horizontal.

      • +1

Any relation between the use of this laser and his dead?

        • +2

My mother in law might need one.

          To test in peace.

      • +2

OzBrogains, I almost had an involuntary green tea/keyboard disaster when I read that.

    • I've had this, or perhaps an older version that looks exactly the same, for about 5 years. I usually have it in my tool box with the rest of the tools, no special care is taken to protect it. Still works very well. IMHO, it is a well-built level for its price and highly recommend it.

  • I want to level a backyard for resowing lawn. Anyone know which model of these is best for this? Thanks in advance.

    • Anything with a greenlaser will be much easier for you to see. Red will be difficult to see in outdoor light

      • The last one has a green laser. Would this be suitable for outdoors?

    • I have the cheaper one with the red laser. It's not bright enough to be used outdoors, at least not during the daytime.

      • It can be a little frustrating having to wait for twilight or using shade panels to find the laser sometimes, consider spending more for green if your main intent is outdoors

    • None of these unfortunately, this is more of an indoor laser.
Unless you want to work at night.
These types of lasers are not easily seen during the day and hence geared for indoor work.

Usually people doing outdoor work will use something called a dumpy laser (there is a receiver as well)

    • +1

You will need a laser with a receiver accessory… Which will allow you to tell where another point is level

I have one of these and used it when paving tge back yard… Highly recommend

It won't matter what colour it is… You need the accessory

  • +1

great, now i have a laser level, thanks.

    • +1

You forgot to add "that I don't really need". I couldn't resist either.

      • i have to be positive in my purchase that i dont really need, i have an hour before i get home and need to brainstorm some excuses to feed the wife, or i jsut go get her some or a lot of chocolate.

        • +2

I resort to using PayPal in 4 or Afterpay. Makes the purchase look "cheaper". And sooner or later you'll be able to pull that thing out of the drawer and say "lucky I bought this so I can do it on my own, a tradie would cost as a fortune". Instant absolution!

  • Doesn’t look like it comes with tripod. Can be had cheaper elsewhere given no tripod?

    • +1

The tripod one is available for 68.99

How does bosch compsre with these Chinese made level? Chineae ones seem much feature rich and powerful.

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/295856570418?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

    • After having a Bosch laser measurement tool die after a year or so, I'm gunna risk this chinese one.

    • I'm also curious. Youtube reviews seem decent, but not very comprehensive (no comparisons in terms of laser strength, and no validation of level accuracy). Also, there can often be quite a variety of quality with these Chinese products; different brands might use the same shell but different internals, so it's always hard to know.

  • Amazing - I was looking at these on Amazon yesterday and this is so much cheaper. I got the base one as I have a tripod.

  • Is it worth the trouble to get the 360 over the normal mid rate one? I'm planning on doing self Reno. (I'm also a beginner)

    • if you doing lights etc, i think you want the 360 one…

      • You mean ceiling lights?

        • yea sorry

        • actually i dont know if the cheaper ones can do ceiling, trying to research but nothing shows

    • +1

As somebody doing a lot of DIY reno, in my experience it's worth spending the extra on tools with enhanced functionality when feasible to compensate for lack of expertise. The wider range on the 360 degree one will be useful when working in small spaces (where you can't position the laser back further to get a wider line) and also when working in large areas (eg. a big L shaped kitchen).

    • If you want to check level around an entire room at once you'll appreciate the 360 degree model. The cube-shaped models only traverse a bit short of 180 degrees.

    • Thanks guys - got it.. :)

  • can the cheaper 2 use on ceiling?

    • No. You'd need to upgrade to this one to get that feature.
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/386723334443

But the coupon doesn't apply to that model, so you'd be better off getting the more expensive one of the three in this deal and separately buying a tripod (if you need one).

      • what about the 360 one on the current deal?

also if i get the one you linked, how does it know if the line is parallel to the wall? or does it just shoot a straight line and you have to adjust it manually?

        • +2

Yes, the 360 degree model in this deal will do a line on the ceiling. For that one, and the one I linked, the ceiling line will be a straight line positioned from where you manually place and aim the laser. You need to measure manually to make sure the line is for example equally distant from the wall you want to be parallel with.

    @BoschPowerToolsAU
Any chance the code could be made available for this model?
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/386723311799

    • Waiting for a discount on this model too.

  • +4

I was able to stack the code JULSNS to get an additional $10 off of the 360 model.

    • Thanks @cliffyA
worked for me as well, got it for 128$

  • +1

Just bought the top model (UniversalLevel360) as need to do some down lights etc and saw the comments about ceiling. Dunno if I really need it but can’t resist a deal!!

    • But the Quigo Basic comes with MM2 clamp ready to use

  • What happens if your floor is not level

    • Lasers are usual auto level ie it will level itself as long as your tripod is close enough

    • +1

You live in a slanty shanty 🤠

    • It uses a pendulum method to keep things level, so regardless your floor, it will be level or else it will flash or beep to let you know you are too slanted for the pendulum to work.

  • Re the 360 auto-level laser: How is the $140 Bosch one (with ebay warranty) compared to this $80 one on Amazon? https://www.amazon.com.au/Firecore-Leveling-Horizontal-Const…

I'm more confident in being able to get a refund from Amazon if needed, and both tools seem to do the same job…

    • It was $63 or $64 yesterday + 15% CashRewards cash back (so about ~$55 after cash back).

Bosch one only needs 2 batteries, also the top part of the vertical laser line seems longer (from the pictures).

      • Thanks for the info. Based on that I'd still go for the generic from amazon over bosch from ebay.
