i have been on the lookout for a good electric pizza oven that can be used indoors, came across kegland and they sell this thing for 200 plus 50 delivery, its got 4 thick bars of element top and same 4 bars bottom going horizontally. not the circular ones like in the breville or ooni or other electric ovens, i like the low price of this and if im not mistaken ive seen these units they are pretty much chinese rebraded ones, ive seen them as high as 500 on ebay same style.

    • Looks cool. If I hadn't bought an electric one I would have definitely given this one a go.

    • The price seems unbelievably low for what they promise. Proceed with caution

    • I have one of these, it’s great for the price!

does it cook the pizza well? do you make your own dough, how long for each cook? any drawbacks?

        • +1

          Here’s one I cooked recently https://imgur.com/a/ZCxodqV

I haven’t timed them, but I will do next time!

It doesn’t compare to a wood oven of course, and I haven’t used another electric pizza oven like the breville that I can compare to, but it definitely does better than my home oven with a pizza stone.

I recently got some better flour and am going to try a higher hydration dough. I’ve only tried 70% hydration so far, and I read that electric ovens benefit from higher hydration.

@FourBeanMix: looks pretty decent to me for 250 bucks

          • +1

@FourBeanMix: Yeah I think if you go higher hydration but lower temperature, you will get great cloudy crust without burning. Looks really tempting would you be able to share more thoughts on it?

            • @darkkito: The website has a few inaccuracies. It mentions a 12” “crumb pan” but I have no idea what that is referring to. Under the stone there are four elements (same as above it) and nothing other than the stone is removable.

The listed dimensions are also incorrect. They don’t take into account the door handle and knobs and it is also a bit wider than 430mm.

I picked up this Cozze electric pizza oven on sale for $466 and I reckon it goes toe to toe with the Breville Pizzaiolo and the Ooni Volt. You don't have nearly as much control as you do on the Breville or the Ooni, but you also kinda don't need it. The Breville and the Ooni do close up better, and is far better at keeping smoke under control if you accidentally set some flour or a bit of topping on fire - and it will happen when you're getting started. Here are some pizzas I've made recently with it, using the Ooni classic dough recipe.

Nothing about the Cozze leaves me wanting more compared to the Ooni or the Breville.

      nice work

    • Appreciate you sharing the pizzas made possible with the Cozze, that second one looks delicious. I like the addition of pistachios I thought I saw on one of them, very creative and hopefully it worked taste-wise

      • +1

Thanks! That one has a tomato sauce base, mozzarella, salami, hot honey and topped off with the pistachios. The effect of the pistachios was subtle but pleasant!

    • Do you have any experience with a pellet/gas oven? Currently have an old model pellet Ooni (Uuni 3) and wanting to upgrade to an electric but don't want a downgrade in quality. Your pizza looks fantastic.

Wish I saw the cozze yesterday while cashback was on.

      • Unfortunately no experience with a pellet or gas oven - but the Cozze can bake a pizza between 60-90 seconds.

Interestingly from what I've seen in reviews, both the Breville and the Ooni electic ovens seem to push 90-120 to complete a bake, which would result in a drier, stiffer base.

    • unfortunately that one cant be used indoors it says, the one i linked even tho it doesn't say indoor use, and it kinda looks like an indoor unit, it has the door so it kinda can be used indoor in a kitchen if you put it near the window for air if it smokes a little, the thing is smoking is inevitable when making pizza in these ovens, when you get a little sauce on the very hot pizza stone it starts smoking, so you have to be super careful

      • Yeah, definitely not as good as the Breville and the Ooni at mitigating smoke. That said, with practice I hardly ever set ingredients on fire now - and even if I do, I know how to anticipate it and control it, so I actually do use the oven indoors - but right next to an open window. If you have a small enclosed kitchen and you aren't experienced with launching and pulling pizzas, might be best to either look elsewhere or start outdoors and only move in once confident.

  • I wouldn't be getting the breville now.

Its got a lot of things that can be improved and a refresh is due.

  • Actual question, whats the difference between this and a normal oven?

    • +1

400C pizza cooked in 2 mins. It means you can pump out a bunch of great tasting pizza for guests.

      • +1

not only that, you need those kind of temperature to make a good piazza especially traditional napoli style. A normal oven will not reach those temperatures

  • +1

Bought an electric pizza oven from Aldi for around $200. Works a treat. Goes to 400°C and cooks a pizza in 2-3 minutes.
Can be used indoors. Outside stainless steel gets pretty hot though.

does it look like the one i linked from kegland by any chance? wouldnt be surprised

      • No it doesn't look like that. Looks more like a breville oven.

    • So when you say 2 mins, is it from fresh dough or store bought base?

      • From fresh dough

    • wow. link?

      • Don't have one. Bought it around 6 months ago as a special buy
