I still have this set from this deal, good to have around at home. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/168666

    • Likewise! I originally intended to remove my car seats with it but I have found it useful way more often than I thought I would. Super handy thing to have on hand. My old man has always wanted one and I've lent it out to him a few times now

    • Same! Great quality set.

    • I came here to make the same post, I see I was beaten to it. I still have mine too. Best freebie ever!
2014 was a good year for Ozbargain, I remember getting 5L containers of Bugwash from SCA for $5 too, I've almost used the last of that stuff 10 years later. And a big bulk bag of microfiber cloths, half of them still unopened.

  • I have a Wera Tool Check Plus…..but do I need more socket sets. Decisons..

      Yes

  • This may be made in China in case you assume otherwise: “ [a reviewer writes:] “I specifically want the original German production I ordered from amazon germany but I do not recommend that there is a gap between the Chinese made product arrived and the quality is obviously low in quality.” Not a problem as long as you know.

  • thanks OP. got one :)

Have been using a Bahco 1/4" set for around 15 years and it's still as good as new. Highly recommend. I still have the 10mm socket too.

Thanks this didn't show up at all in my searches last night, good timing with the post. Should get 15% Cashback on top.

      No
      Just no.

That the worst socket set, spend another $20 and get the better bahco

You'll end up throwing away the $10 one and regret the $10 purchase when you buy something better straight after

  • I like the bahco limited edition small set for weight characteristics …. Looks like only available at sydney tool for $70 though

Is that the bit ratchet set?
Basically this which goes on sale some times for $35 on Amazon.
Limited edition only means black lid instead of orange.
There was a time when they were transitting manufacturer that black box ones were China made while orange ones were still Taiwan made.
Nowadays they’re all China made unless you stumble on some super old new stock.
      Love my Bahco stuff though.

      • Whats is your take on the China built ones? Quality difference?

        • +1

I don’t have any Taiwan made Bahco so can’t really compare them.
Between the brands though, I prefer Bahco to Gearwrench and SCA Toolpro, in that order, even though all are China made.
Bahco sockets and ratchets feel a lot more solid and durable, plus they’re 6-point, so less likely to strip stuff.
Any of these brands will be fine for non-professionals though. Just steer clear of the cheapo $10 sets when something quality like this can be had on sale for $30-40 and will likely outlast you.

  • $55 for me.

    • Same, missed out :(

  • me too :(
