    Not a fan of these rubber handles. If you are working on cars and get oil or petrol on them it soaks in and the handles start to deteriorate

    Most of the soft grip handles (even on expensive stuff like fiskars) tend to fall apart or go sticky so I avoid them wherever I can. I like my tools to last decades.

      What alternative is there, ie. are there any pliers that don't have "soft grips" ?
      I think even the Knipex ones, have that rubber grip themselves.

    Pop into my local store - cannington this morning and they had 5 on the shelf for $14.98. Couldn't find the item so just popped into the store. There was at least one reserved behind the counter.

    I got the 2nd last one, from Greenacre Bunnings (Sydney), this evening , after 8pm.

    Me: "Excuse me, where can I find this item?" (show him the SKU number)

    Him: "Oh,..these are the pliers. Did you call this morning?"

    Me: "No,…I'm just driving past, and thought I'd drop in for them. They have been popular".

    Him: "Yes,…there was a whole bunch of them here" <pointing to the hooks, the pliers would rest on>
    "But they're all gone now. Sorry. I can check for you, other stores"

    Me: "It's OK. It's not my luck today." <As I'm walking out of the Tool Shop>

    Him: "Wait…there are 2 behind the counter here"

    Me: "Oh, really?"

    Him: "If not holding for anyone, you can take them" <Asks colleague>

    Me: "Well, can you check the price too? Apparently they're $7.50 at other Bunnings" <Also confirmed the scanner's name>

    Him: "Sorry, they're $14.98. We're not holding them for anyone, … so you can just buy them".

    Me: "Gee, thanks !"
