[NSW] Ryobi 200 Pieces DIY Essential Kit $50 (in-Store Only) @ Bunnings Penrith

60

I was trying to find something else but came across this which was tucked back in around aisle 68 to 70 at the bottom. Had a clearance label on it. It was located where the door frames were. When I picked up there were a still few more left. Not bad for a non professional DIY work.

195 pieces most people would never use

    • Actually? I’m in the process of buying my first home so seemed like something that might not be a bad buy for someone who will only be doing basic DIY stuff

    • When stuff is cheap, it doesn't matter.

I recently had to drill a hole in wood that needed to be slightly bigger than 12mm. I had a 10mm drill bit, a 15mm hole saw bit, and a 12mm spade bit. But thanks to one of these kits, I also had a 13mm spade bit, which despite being made of super weak steel did the trick. If I hadn't bought that second set of spade bits, I would have had to take a trip to the store and my project would have got delayed.

So having a few cheap tools on hand is worth it. But this @ $50 is not particularly cheap (or maybe it is by current standards.
All I know is that I bought something practically the same a few years ago for $15

  • Looks like retail is $100.

    • The Ryobi website says $50. Though Bunnings pulled their listing online so I assume it's an EOL product on clearance.

  • Item number?

  • Some reviews said they are not metrics

    • Yep, it's on their own product page from 4 years ago — wonder if Ryobi have changed that given the current description:

The 25mm and 50mm driving bits are designed for maximum screw hold to limit cam-outs and maximise drill life.

  • Receipt for price match?

It's the current discount price (bunnings) Australia wide if you can find stock. Good find OP.

  • Saw it yesterday for the same price in vic, is ot any good?

    • It saves me from buying multiple toolkits for same job.

    • Any shipping

  • How many of the "200 pieces" are screws?

    • 90x if you don't count nutsetters and bit adaptors. 70x short bits and 20x long bits.

The combination is actually solid for $50 even if it's not a discounted price. It would takes at least 3 sets of tools to get everything included.

  • Thanks OP. Just bought one from Springvale VIC, they have around 4 left. I called Frankston VIC, they couldn’t find the 7 they have in stock.
