      No such thing as a Sony VHS player from 1985. Sony didn't start making them until 1988. Before that was Betamax only.

      I was about to correct you, because I've only ever seen them called 3.5" disks… but you're technically correct about the physical disk size.

      I somehow went through the entire 80s and 90s without actually realising this. If I'd measured my floppy, I'd have realised it was actually smaller than I thought.

    For those who are laughing, there are a lot of old movies that have never been released on DVD or any digital format. Therefore a VCR is the only way to watch them.
