        • thanks, but Coles clears meat and vegetables - those are local / house brand, not supplier imported - general key difference :)

          • @tonester: Nah they clear everything at my locals @ 90% off, just gotta know what time they heavily mark down.

Managers are provided a list of everything that expires (meats/fruits/veges - same day expiry, dairy - day before expiry) and they mark it down at 90%.

The cheese is $17.88 now in hope people will buy them, but can guarantee you they will be reduced to around $2 after 6pm if nobody buys them.

Check markdown addicts fb page for other markdowns people have bought from WW, coles.

            • @easternculture: Not sure if Melbourne specific but my local stores have quoted a new policy of a maximum 78% off for short dated products, as of this month.

@mangamuncher: Yeah i heard that but ive noticed some products still get heavily discounted. Not sure exactly why. Few days ago saw a tub of 2L yogurt discounted to 50c from something like $14 and yesterday saw some chicken tenderloins discounted to $1 from $12

              • @mangamuncher: Currently standing in front of the cheese now. 8 left and now $11. 6pm.

i can guarantee that that never happens in this store :(

                what time?

Store specific. Have to ask the manager

I know in my local woolies, they mark down 5pm.
My 1st local coles does at 330ish, the second local coles 6pm, and third local between 7pm and 8pm.

  • That dude has the best job…always enjoy his shows.

  • Thanks. Might take my afternoon run down that way. I assume the main woolworths in the junction as opposed to middle camberwell.
