          • @dny: thanks. worked ! $1477 with codes and $85 trade in (note 10+)!

          • @dny: How to be eligible?

            • @ChipsChicky: Need to validate with a .edu email address

          • @dny: Thx so much, i cancelled and I saved extra $311 and paying only $1116.95 using samsung edu shop ( using my kids schools edu email ) stacked with $200, and $455 fold 4 trade in, extra 5% app discount, cheaper than $1422.65 trade in with bonuses in samsung store..

            • @tanastra: My kid has edu, but they didn't give the password and I don't know how to login or which site to go to login & its school holidays.

              • +1

@ChipsChicky: I was using the Samsung shop app, and registered my kids school email address to get the logging on from Samsung after they verified the edu email account. And inside the shop app there is menu for the edu account setup and use that to get the fold 6 with edu pricing which is 20% discount of RRP.

                • @tanastra: How do they verify edu account? Do they send an email to it and you have to login in edu account and click the link etc - like usual gmail verification?

I have edu account of kid but school never gave it's password or told how to login into it. Like for logging into gmail, you go to gmail.com.

                  • +1

@ChipsChicky: Just like normal email , it's an email given to year 7-12 ( it's Microsoft for school actually ) and the student should have password to login to it, and that's where Samsung will send special code for you to verify it's genuine edu account.

Trade in is asking for device IMEI, any way around this?

  • +3

Is the website playing up for everyone? Can't see anything on trade in section and then keeps redirecting to sign in page. Any workaround fellas? Cheers

    • +1

yeah it is for me too, same error, back to sign in page… more bizarrely, maybe ive hopped onto too soon, but theres no Galaxy ring on the samsung AU website?

      • Yeah, best to wait until tomorrow morning I guess

    • yeah education store is on a sign-in loop as well

      • Best to wait till morning I guess

        • Just ordered the fold6 512gb crafted black and buds 3 pro for $1500 after discount codes, $5 trade-in, Samsung shop app 5% discount and Samsung reward points all from the education store

    • Used Samsung browser to make it work

  • +1

Was able to order through the Gov Store but after 15 minutes still haven't received an order confirmation yet… Anyone else?

  • +1

I've said it time and time again, they make great products and I've been with them since the original Galaxy S, I even worked for them for 8 years, however they're post customer service is severely lacking, from their fumbled returns policy to absurd pricing for repairs, in my opinion if they revamped this, it would be a dream.

  • I'm getting "Service Ujavailable" after entering my IMEI for trade in at the checkout, Samsung acciunt struggling to log in also so not able to use my points, servers must be busy.

  • +3

Samsung is getting lazier by the year. There's absolutely no R&D, just rehashing the same old thing with minuscule changes. Fold6 is basically Fold5.

    • +3

      Way better size imo

      • Agreed. Like the slicker dimensions.

      • That's what..

    • +1

There's absolutely no R&D, just rehashing the same old thing with minuscule changes.

You could replace "Samsung" with any other phone manufacturer and it would be the same.

That's just how the phone industry is - every new model is just incremental improvements.

Companies probably have more tech available in their labs but they all watch their competition and release something that can just edge out their current competitors. They all have to save something for the next release after all.

      • Have you seen recent Huawei phones? Leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. It's a shame it doesn't have Google Services.

        • Have you seen recent Huawei phones?

We were talking about how each new model doesn't add much more over the previous model. Looking at the Mate 50 Pro vs Mate 40 Pro, there really isn't much difference.

Leaps and bounds ahead of the competition.

Do you mean with the camera? The specs do look nice, but having owned a Mate 20 Pro after being wowed by the reviews, I find their image processing really misses the mark for me. Compared to other phones of the same time, colours looked off, HDR processing was over the top, night mode wasn't the greatest, etc. For me the specs were good on paper but in reality it just didn't do it for me. Not sure if the 50 has improved on it; it's a shame the US got so afraid of them.

I played with the Huawei Mate X3 foldable in a store overseas and loved the slimness but didn't like the feel of the hinge. The Fold6 has slimmed down though, it is 5.6mm vs the Mate X3's 5.3mm which is close enough for me.

  • JB is offering $400 for the Fold6 and $300 for the Flip6

Saw the other deal post about the 100 / 200 trade in bonus, but there is actually a $450 bonus as well.

So does all this stack together? I got that hundred dollar one for a survey they other day too

  • Can you place two separate orders, each using the code UNFOLDAI?

    • No, voucher redemption only once per account. You need a second account to reuse the code.

      • So would need to use 2 student/epp accounts to get 2 phones at max discount then…

  • Can confirm it stacks on EPP portal

  • -1

i don't have edu email. My old iphone xs max can't turns on. How to get edu discount?

  • -1

If I don't send in the device I just pay $60 late return fee?
What about the Security Charge? How much is that? Is that equivalent value to the trade in amount?

    • +1

The security charge is equal to whatever your trade in is worth. I did a fold5 which was $770, I paid a $770 Charge straight up.

If I don't send the phone in they don't refund me the $770 and also charge me $60.

But in theory I could sell the Fold5 on the market place for more than $770 and I'd still be up I guess

      • But can you sell for more than $770 + $60 = $830?

        • I mean you could chuck it up on the marketplace the weekend before the new one arrives for like $1300 and see if you got any bites. No takers you send it back for trade in, someone bites you set up the sale to take place after the new one arrives.

Even if you got $900 for it that'd still be an extra $70 off the total

      • Thank you for explaining. Appreciate it.

  • Is EPP cheaper?

    • I can confirm that:
Fold6 - Edu Store is cheaper than Retail Store
Flip - Retail Store is cheaper than Edu Store

  • No galaxy ring listed?

  • -4

Want to buy the Flip 6. Please confirm if the Samsung retail, EPP or EDU store is cheaper? Can I use the app to get extra 5% off? Or is the app accessing only the retail store?

    • Please test and let us know.
      Thank you very much Sir

  • +1

can anyone confirm if the accessories cancellation trick still works ?

    • +1

I don't think it does. I pre-ordered the Fold 6 with the Galaxy Buds 3, tried to cancel the Galaxy Buds only but it also forces the Fold 6 to be cancelled as well.

      • Yeah same behaviour observed. Hope someone finds an accessory which doesn't force primary item cancellation

        • Oh wow they fixed all the loopholes. Thanks samsung now my wallet can rest.

  • Managed to purchase a Fold-6 1TB and Buds3Pro with 1yr Samsung Care+ for $1199.

    Trade-in bonus : $650 ($450 + $200)
    Pre-order evoucher : $200
Corporate Partnership discount (Uber Eats Pro Platinum 20%): $659.90
Store first purchase discount (5%): $178.90
    Total discount: $2528.80

    • +4

Is there any reason for change fold 5 to 6?
      You still play extra $1200.
      Thats not bargain

      • I get to Salary sacrifice the phone at work (pre tax deduction) and the Fold 5 will go in the marketplace for higher than the trade in quote. So overall works out to be a bargain in the end.

Did the same, when I upgraded from Fold4 to Fold5 (JB HiFi deal), which actually ended up in $50 profit for upgrading the phone 🙂

        • So you're not planning on sending your Fold5 in for trade and chucking it up on the marketplace?

      • no reason. same camera omg… and wider outside screen what just tiny more wider.
only if your zf5 broke and you want a fold again

        • I agree, but see the calculations in my comments below.

    • -2

So you do need to return your Fold 5 to get the $840 deduction. If you do not return, you loose $840 on your credit card guarantee? Right? Thanks.

      • And $60 non return fee

      • Yes, but I will not return it. Selling it in the market place will get me a better price for sure.

        • hmm so you paid 1199 as above. if you sell zf5 at better price meaning you ending up paying less than 1199.
          interesting

          • @CyberMurning: Yes, kinda.

Here is my math on this, Technically I paid $2099 ($1199+$840+$60) because I won't return ZF5.

So, now if I manage to sell ZF5 for $1400 in the marketplace, effective cost of this upgrade becomes $699.

On top of this, I get to salary sacrifice the phone (pre-tax deduction) which will save a few hundred dollars, bringing the effective cost of this upgrade to less than $400. Which in my opinion, is anyway going to be the depreciation in Fold5's value due to the launch of its successor.

            • @RazrRox: Good luck selling. These phones tank in value so hard. I struggled selling mine last time above 1000

              • @Feeblely: Fair enough.

Not to forget the free Buds3Pro, which can be sold in the market for around $150. They may cover the gap further (just in case) 🙂

            • @RazrRox: nah you wont get 1400 but yeah good for you because of that uber discount.
and even if i say if you end up spending $400-$500 it is still unnecssary purchases. plus the time to sell on marketplace, all those ending up costing you money.
we all do this kind of thing, trying to justify our purchases of new toys dont worry i get it bro

              • @CyberMurning: Ha ha.. Cheers.

                • @RazrRox: Please keep track on spreadsheet how much you end up spending i bet after weeks and weeks dealing with lowballers and frustration and time waster, it will be $600plus out of pocket. And to top it up, after a month you will feel what heck is this zfold6 I can't tell the difference from zfold5

                  • @CyberMurning: Nah.. Having upgraded every year since ZF2 > ZF3 > ZF4 > ZF5 > now ZF6, I'm pretty sure I won't end up with that regret feeling. But you are absolutely right mate, marketplace offlate is full of time wasters and frustrating low ballers.

    • Whats the Uber Eats Pro Platinum discount?

      • +1

Samsung offers Corporate Partnership discount to Uber Eats Pro members.

To save on Income tax (new vehicle depreciation), in my free time I deliver Uber Eats orders. I've a platinum rating on my deliveries which has 20% discount on Samsung products as one of the benefits.

        • damn wish I had that. Thanks

    • Can you please advise what is the Pre-order evoucher : $200? I only received email from Samsung with $450 and $200 trade in bonus voucher.

      • yes thats the one. pre registration to be exact. 200 now later become 100

      • That is the $200 Galaxy Ecosystem voucher automatically applied when you add an eligible accessory - Galaxy Buds3Pro in my case.

  • +1

I tell ya, they don't make it easy do they, I try and jump through all their hoops, yet still there are issues. Now they have my passport and driver's licence pics, yet still it's flagged as invalid ID. I verify using the Samsung account that bears the same info. Missed out of the S23U release when you couldn't verify a trade-in because of a glitch in their system app.

I've rebooted, I've cleared the purchase and done it again, and again, and still problems exist. I think this is an omen.

    • +1

i tried it like 10 times, eventually, it moved to manual verification (asking to enter detail manually) page and done.

      • Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me…I’ve kinda given up on a fold and Samsung in general. I’ve wasted enough time and jumped through enough hoops (today and again) to buy an expensive phone. Problems on their end, it’s not like they need my money.

Thanks for giving an alternative solution hopefully someone will find it useful.

      • How did you get into the manual verification, I couldn't find any link by using the web version.

        • Send two of the back of the card worked after multiple attempts did it for me then, then another round of verification code, finally after all that I filled in what it needed, name, address which its search tool finds, it already had my lic. number in the next entry but it’s red asking for the correct number. But it is correct, and expiry date which I input. BUT I can’t continue because it has issues with the correct id number.

          • +1

@Sheep Whisperer: Had the exact same issue with the web page not accepting the license number because of those pesky spaces between the digits. And of course, it was highlighted in red, making it impossible to update. But guess what? I’ve got a bit of web dev know-how up my sleeve, so I managed to tinker with the code—swapping 'disabled' to 'enabled' in the input class using the browser's developer tool. After that, I just removed the spaces in the license number, hit submit, and voilà, it worked! Thought I’d share the hack here in case anyone else wants to give it a go.

Seriously though, if they want our money, the least they can do is make the process a bit smoother, right?

            • @nlife7: Omg that is brilliant, but I think I'll give another brand a go. Hopefully someone will do a fold or similar. Or I'll stay with another flagship

              That's a wicked mod anyway.

I tried to trade in for the Watch ultra. But there is no Trade in bonus.
    This is is education store.

Edit: opp the trade in bonus is only for normal store. Sad

    • +1

trade in bonus works in education store as well, did it last night (s8 phone)

      • For the Watch as well?

I tried but there no bonus value. Only the value of the phone which is $5.

        • Yes it does work for watch as well, but only $50 though

        • yes bonus should kick in after the valuation screen

      • Really? It's pretty obvious I'm buying for 2 people.

        • Was it ordered across 2 accounts? Might have been clearer if you broke it up into each order and how much it was rather than trying to combine it together.
