  • How do these stack up against a forerunner 265?
I was just about to pull the trigger on a 265 thinking to stick with Garmin because of my edge 1040 computer but can't decide if this might be a better route?

    • I don't feel they are comparable. Forerunner is sport tracking watch first like 80% with smart watch function next like 20%. This one, looks like 50% sport tracking 50% smart watch, while it does much better on smart watch function such as google wallet, strava, youtube music and spotify app built in, the GPS and sensors are not up to spec for people wanting a more serious sport watch.

Check TQS review https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_vUae6LZTaQ and DesFit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLnD6WJX4n4 and make up your own mind.

I just got a Coros Pace 3 like 3 weeks ago, so i am biased, but not towards the 2 options you mentioned.

I'd probably stick with Garmin: health/fitness tracking is much better (it's not even close, but I guess the huge price difference reflects that). Compatibility with the Edge 1040 pretty much makes it a no-brainer.

For context of my opinion, I literally bought the Mobvoi TicWatch E3 yesterday and it got delivered this morning and I have been using it all day. I also have a Wahoo Roam V1 bike computer so I think I would understand your needs.

  • Come on mobvoi, release a LTE version

  • Another option is a genuine Samsung watch on Catch/ Dick Smith/ Kogan etc at $250. These are international versions but I got one from Catch, delivered in a week and everything works (google Pay, Samsung Pay, ECG blood pressure) etc

    • Good to know samsung pay works on grey import stock

  • Can't seem to see the atlas. Do you have a link op?

Atlas not showing on Amazon. Seems only available on the official Mobvoi site. If looking becomes buying, use the referral link for 5% off.

got an Pro 5 by end of 2023 for $363, I don't regret it, it's a nice watch.

  • Oo good deal.
But tempt me not, im waiting for the new pebble.

I'd like amazbit to remake the original bip with the transflective display. That sucker had 45 day battery life and worked in the sun like the pebble but for some inexplicable reason the new amazfit devices all have normal screens and rubbish battery life.

      • Agreed. Had the Amazfit Pace which was amazing till I killed it by pressing buttons while underwater. All new ones has AMOLED. I don't need a fancy screen, I want to charge the watch less than once a month! Not weeks nor days.

      • Im just still in shock that google agreed to open source the pebbleOS, when they technically sell a competing product.

  • Purchased. Cheers OP and random referrer - worth a shot for $193.65!

  • Thank you OP. Just got insurance approved on my sons broken Ryze watch and wanted to get something with nfc. Perfect timing

  • Funny timing. I didn't know they still made them but grabbed the old version E3 for $100 off Amazon purely for streaming YouTube music.
Seems good for about 4 hours and played perfectly first time out which was promising! Assume this one would also work well for this purpose.

    • Out of interest…why don't you just stream off your phone? Are you in an environment where smartphones are not allowed? Like a data centre?

      • Nope I just don't love carrying my phone on shorter runs. A second watch is nicer :) I realise I left this detail off my original comment haha
