  • Nest doorbell gives you last 3 hours recording for free, how about RING?

    • I dont think there is any free recording, I had 30 days of free trial to the protect plan, after that it is:

      A$4.95/month or A$49.95/year - Basic Plan
      A$15/month or A$150/year - Plus Plan

    • Reolink allows free upload to an FTP server

  • Also part of this deal the below are discounted to $229
Wired Video Doorbell Pro is $229.00
Battery Video Doorbell Pro is A$229.00

    Why do people buy Ring?

    • +1

I have Eufy and Ring cameras, with Ring I like the option of 2-way talk and there is no lag, unlike Eufy. Also, the app is pretty stable.
But one of the downsides is the protection plans

    • +1

Boomer here. I like the ease of setup snd use. The ability to add multiple extra cameras with one click and the ability to move them around. I travel a lot and i can move them
Around on a whim. On top of pelmets, inside windows.

    • Purchased because;
      - Sale
      - App is stable
      - Easy to use app for my wife.

      I wish I knew
      - does not work with my nest hub or shield. (Only really relevant for the ring doorbell. But this relates to the eco system, you arent buying a ring camera and then a nest doorbell)

  • Got two of these in black for sale. Bought last year in the sale and only used for a few weeks while away. I’m now on Unifi.

    I’m in Chatswood.

    • Are you using UniFi Protect G4 Doorbell?

      • yes

        • Cool.
I can read som reviews. But they don't include extended user experience feedback.
          Are you happy with it?

          • +1

@SickDmith: it's fine but hugely overpriced - you're paying a big premium to get everything into the unifi environment and to not have 6 unifi cameras and a reolink doorbell. paying the premium is always the case but this is next level.

if you already have a normal doorbell i'd perhaps be inclined to keep that and stick a regular camera next to the door

  • Is it worth to wait or spend more to get gen 3?
