So with everyday rewards now required, this will have stock control for TCN Gift $100, as in won't get cleared up in a day by hoggers?

  • +2

Probably gets asked a lot, but can you use woolies e-gift cards to buy these gift cards?

  • Why are stores like JB HiFi and Rebel in bold?

    • +32

      It is for emphasis.

It is to highlight either the more popular retailers on OzBargain (e.g. JB Hi-Fi, Uber, Timezone), or the stores that I get most frequently asked about when people are looking for deals on gift cards (e.g. Baby Bunting).

    • +4

Why are stores like JB HiFi and Rebel in bold?

      That's to entertain jv

    • +1

      Because jv.

  • Does woolies offer the tcn her variable?

    • +1

I have never seen a Woolworths stock a variable denomination for the TCN Her, Gift nor Baby gift cards.

  • Well. 100×10 the max you can buy in a day. …

    • +1

      Two for the GIFT

  • What kind of gift card accepted at Microsoft store?

    • +1

      Visa, Master and Amex

    • +2

Just get your surface/xbox from JB

  • -3

i actually need to get $700 worth of one voucher is that possible with this deal?

    • +2

      No

      • -2

why can't i get $500 dollar gift card and plus another $200 gift card…is there a limit

        • +4

Coz they didnt sell the card for 500 and 200

    • +10

      Nope.

The only denominations eligible for this deal should be:

      • Baby: $50, $100
      • Gift: $30, $50, $100
      • Her: $50, $100
      • Kids: $30, $50
      • Teen: $30, $50

TCN Kids and Teen gift cards are also sold in a variable load denomination at Woolworths (where you can load up to $500 on one gift card), except the variable load denomination is specifically excluded from this deal.

I have not seen the five TCN gift cards in this deal being sold in any other denominations at Woolworths.

Why do you need $700 on one gift card? Is the retailer you have in mind unable to accept multiple gift cards in one transaction?

      • just need 7 baby ones

        • That’s fine if you can find a store with stock

        • Hopefully the participating retailer you are wanting to purchase at is able to process 7 eftpos cards (or 7 retailer gift cards) in one transaction.

          • @WookieMonster: this is true, it's not a traditional gift card, did not think about that buying directly they do $500 dollar ones

            • @SpeedAU: TCN will let you exchange a TCN Baby gift card on their website for a digital gift card from some (but not all) participating retailers, so that could be an option for you. Make sure you plan ahead before purchasing!

              • -1

@WookieMonster: Haha how many JB gift you can use at once on their website?

                • @syswong: If you are doing a regular purchase, there should be no limit to the number of JB Hi-Fi gift cards you can redeem in one online transaction.

However, if you have requested a price match to pay online, you probably will get a message saying that you can only redeem a maximum of ten JB Hi-Fi gift cards, but it appears that JB Hi-Fi is not enforcing this restriction.

Can you use your monthly 10% Woolies mobile discount when buying these?

    • no

    • +7

Yes, you will save 57c on each pack of pies you purchase.

  • Can someone confirm if cards with Timezone can be used for Double Dollars?

    • +2

I have used Timezone gift voucher for double dollars before. I don't see why this can't be used.

    • +1

Yes but must be done in-venue as they have to manually process the gift card.

    • +1

If those cards are running out from Woolies, Coles have similar deals during the same period.

      • Thank you for this….. WW stock was all depleted,

  • Could I have used these gift cards with JB HiFi 10% off everything sale on the weekend?

    • +2

Offer Rewards Card available to get from 10% 10/07/24 Off to in-store 16/07/24 only on at all Woolworths denominations of Supermarkets gift cards and listed. Woolworths Excludes TCN Metro. For TCN Gift $100, limit of 2 cards per day per Rewards Member in a single transaction. While stocks last. Card images shown may vary.

    • -5

the trick is go collect the cards today, then when the sales starts activate them each day at WW.

      • What do you mean collect today?

Don't you have to buy them first, and the cash attendant activates them when purchased?

Or are you holding them, hiding behind the toilet roll packs overnight, hoping security doesn't find you, then grabbing some more in the morning when the store opens up?

        • -4

Walk out the store with them, there is no money value on a non activated card, come back with the cards when sales starts and get them to activate them.

          • @dono2: Yeah right.

Genuinely, I know they're not worth anything until activated, but will the store allow this?

            Do many people do this?

          • +7

            @dono2: That is not ethical.

            • +9

@cloudie9: It's shoplifting, aka theft. The notion that they have no worth is arrant nonsense. Some people have suggested relocating GCs in store so that others won't easily find them. That's unethical, but not illegal.

  • Damn, rather have the QFF rather than the 10%

  • +1

I despise TCN, my vote is for the pies.

  • Is 10% off/20xEDR (10% equivalent) off the typical common bargain with these cards? Do these go for 20% or the like?

Checking the tag for TCN it seems to be but wanted to other's thoughts…..

We have a lay-by I want to Oz-Bargain effectively so we have time to wait as the 10% bargain seems to be semi-regular.

    TIA.

    • +1

Technically 20xEDR is 10% less equivalent as you could get 5% on woolworths gift cards and 10% on shopping once monthly.

  • do these ever get to 15%? or >10% at least

    • -1

yeap 15% a few times a year. I'd be hodling for teh 15% off

    • +3

Very rare. Coles last week of Nov every year seems the go: https://freepoints.com.au/gift-card-history/

      • +1

Even if there’s 15% people be lining up before the stores open lol
        No point waiting for 15%

  • +1

It just dont hit the same anymore now that ebay is gone 🥲

    • I think most people buy for JB and OW

      • They are doing it wrong then….

  • Does woolies also have limit of 5 cards per customer like coles too? Bc it says 10 per day max (2x for gift). Can I theoretically get 2x $100 gift, and then 8x $100 her cards in one transaction? Or would I have to go to another woolies to do 5x maximum or come back another time of day

    • I just did this, got 2x$100 and 8 x$50, had to do them in 4 transactions per $200 total, super annoying.

  • Just be aware only TCN GIFT can be exchanged for JB hifi egift card. Tried HER and TEEN, both not working, which means they cannot be used online.

    • +2

I registered mine and then I was able to swap it to a JB Hi-Fi card to use online.

      • +1

        Same.

    • Out of 4 HER, 1 registered 3 gave the error "Your card can not swap for this voucher. Please contact us for assistance."

Obviously the Random number generator has failed for me and I need to reroll for a critical. Or they detected my HIMness and the HER says no. I may need boost my Oestrogen before the remaining cards start working…

  • Be aware max is $200 worth of gift cards per transaction

    • Does staff allow multiple transactions?

      • I got $600 split across 3 transactions, the staff was nice did not stop me
But I guess it depends who’s working

  • +1

Surprised to see many Gift and Her still on shelves

  • Although I'm pleased about these gift card materials as it reduces the environmental footprint. They are slightly flimsy and can be easily bend.

    • The new batch of TCN cards are made by paper (or someone may refer that as cardboard), as previously was made by plastic as far as I know.

  • How long does it take for the funds to be loaded on the card? On the card it self it says up to 24hrs but on the receipt it says 48hrs. Hopefully it is quicker than that?

  • +1

How do I redeem for uber? I tried swapping my card (TCN GIFT) for an uber voucher on the TCN website but it says “your card can not swap for this voucher”

    • -1

I got the same issue as well. Annoying.

    • +1

I encountered the same issue initially. You will need to "register" the cards first and then you will be able to redeem them for uber vouchers.

      • This must be a safety feature, great.

    • By comparison, I bought a uber gift card from Amazon today, got it in minutes and was able to upload the credit straight away. Don't TCN make it easy.

They also unnecessarily confuse people "your card can not swap for this voucher" - if registration is required, why doesn't the website say so instead.

  • pftt got three cards, saw the discount apply to 2 and jaw saw the tandcs 2 cards per day just a heads up for ppl like me

  • Does anyone know how many split transactions you can do in store at rebel? I don’t want to redeem for an e-gift card, I just want to use the card as an eftpos payment

    • I don't know the maximum number. I was able to do 3 split transactions in-store at Rebel last month (with gift cards and a credit card).

  • I got an error "Your card can not swap for this voucher. Please contact us for assistance." when trying to swap TCN Gift with Kogan vouchers.
Has anyone seen this error before?

    • +1

Some people a few days earlier in this deal encountered the same error.

Did you register your TCN gift card before attempting to exchange for Kogan gift cards?

      • +2

Thanks heaps, it worked! Bought the $99 mobile plan before the deal expires later today :)

  • If you have more than one rewards ACC you can have 4?

  • Has this ended or can someone provide some instructions on how to get this?

When I click Go To Deal it takes me to https://www.woolworths.com.au/ and searching (searching for 'tcn' amusinglyg autocorrects to 'tin') 'gift card' takes me to https://giftcards.woolworths.com.au/ and browsing the list I can see cards that I suspect are related to TCN such as this https://giftcards.woolworths.com.au/fashion-for-her/p/her-eg… although it is not clear, and shows no discount when I add it to cart.

Skimmed the FAQ but didn't see anything.

Thanks in advance anybody who helps, somewhat new to this!

    • +1

You need to go in-store to a Woolworths supermarket or a Woolworths Metro.

The third sentence of the deal terms and conditions (which is also in the deal description) says:

Scan your Everyday Rewards Card to get 10% Off in-store only at Woolworths Supermarkets and Woolworths Metro.

Hopefully you can get to a Woolworths store before it closes tonight (as this deal ends today), and hopefully the store still has the gift cards you want in stock!

      • +1

Embarassing lack of reading on my part - thanks for the info. Unfortunately missed the opportunity but good learnings for next time!

        • No worries! For next time…

For gift card deals at Coles and Woolworths and BIG W, they are only in-store. Woolworths Online (https://www.woolworths.com.au), Coles Online (https://www.coles.com.au) and BIG W Online do not sell gift cards. I would normally add In-Store Only into the deal title for deals such as this one, except there was no more room in the title to fit that in!

If there was a deal available through the Woolworths Group gift card portal (https://giftcards.woolworths.com.au), the deal would be titled on OzBargain as Woolworths Gift Cards (and there is a separate Related Store for Woolworths Gift Cards). Here is a recent example.

Similarly, if there was a deal available through the Coles Group gift card portal, the deal would titled on OzBargain as giftcards.com.au (and there is a separate Related Store for giftcards.com.au, which is called Coles Group & Myer Gift Cards). Here is a recent example.
