  • Fwiw, some other flavours are cheaper

Milk and honey tastes the best for mine.

    • Half price at woolies this week

They were much lower before. Ordered on 7 July 2023 Total Before GST:$9.95 GST:$1.00
    Total:$10.95 Promotion(s) Applied:-$1.10 Gift Card Amount:-$9.85

    • +1

Since when is $1.20 much cheaper lol
With inflation as it has been, this is a good price.

      • -2

cheaper is cheaper, what's your logic?

        • +1

My logic is calling out "much lower" is a fallacy.
It's equal if not a better deal now than it was a year ago relative to buying power.

    • +1

This is over a year ago. And not substantially that much cheaper for how inflation goes since then

      • -4

Get your math right or you dont know how to calculate!
13.5/9.85=137%, since when the inflation is 37%??

        • Update your quick maffs!
Discount cards count now do they…

    • Not fair you're being negged for this - I just went into my history to find the same thing. Interestingly I am just about to run out from that same purchase date. So 3 bottles x approx 1:3 dilution = 1 years supply for me

      • +1

Don’t know why you got negged for this. I tipped it back for ya.

1:3 dilution is good, but you may not get the scent you want. Probably doesn’t matter :D

  • Needed some, thanks, normal non fishing soap is also the same price as a selection.

    • +4

how do you use soap for fishing

      • +1

        Damn auto correct, foaming*

  • +2

Meh ALDI & Coles range cheaper, are these worth the premium anymore

    • +1

I'm going to try them out soon. Also, I'll hold off until prime day on this anyway

    • +2

      ALDI & Coles range cheaper

And cheaper again if you buy their non-foaming soft soap, dilute it with water, and use it in your foaming dispenser. I'm using Aldi's Aloe and Chamomile soft soap, mix 1 part soft soap with 3 parts hot tap water to make foaming soap. The best mix ratio may be different for other soaps.

At 3:1 dilution, foaming soap made this way is less than $1 per litre.

Main thing here is not to buy the moisturising soap (pearly opaque type) as it will clog your pump withing 3-4 refills. Get something that's is relative clear. Only issue is they all seem to be marketed as Antibacterial, I would prefer it was just normal soap

        • Thanks, I've refilled three times so far, and was wondering why I'm starting to get less foam produced. You've given me the answer!

they all seem to be marketed as Antibacterial

Perhaps look for soaps that say "biodegradable", I see that Officeworks sells "Northfork Liquid Handwash 5L", and it makes no claim to be antibacterial. This eBay listing has a photo of the ingredients label: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/175358533705

          But Officeworks is cheaper: https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/northfork-…

          • +1

@Russ: Yeah it took me ages to work this out cos I exclusively bought the moisturising soap. That stuff you linked still looks pretty opaque compared to the antibacterial stuff I have been using., and it's quite a bit more expensive. If I come across anything g I will post it

These used to be $10 for 3. I just get the balnea brand from woollies, usually 2 for $5.50 on sale

    • but cherry blossom

Tried the thicker non-foaming in foaming bottles. Seems 1/3 handwash + 2/3 water would foam properly. I’m sure it would dial down the strength but it’s good enough for me.

    • Do you have a link to the non-foaming bottles?

      • It's the same listing. Some options are foaming the others are not.
If you're refilling a foaming bottle, use the foam refill instead. Noticable different results.

        • +1

I'm refilling an electronic foaming dispenser. 1/3 soap 2/3 water should work and save money.

        • -1

Are you giving the exact opposite advice you just gave two comments above?

          • @Jackson: I don’t recommend to water down the refill from beginning. I said it’s good enough for me.

            • @xmagic: Ah you were using the thicker non-foaming when you mentioned dilution, not the foaming. That was the difference

    • Reckon the foamed is dialed down in strength anyways? Is foaming bottles just generating Palmolive more money

      • I think foaming and non-foaming soap are formulated differently. They need to guarantee results at least.

Too much water doesn’t foam, but too thick would either shoot soap out of the dispenser or doesn’t dispense at all due to blocked tube.

        • I think foaming and non-foaming soap are formulated differently.

I reckon you're right, I've used foaming soap and diluted non-foaming soap in a foaming dispenser. When the dilution ratio is chosen so both types have the same "feel", there is a difference: when leaving the dispenser unused overnight, the diluted non-foaming soap will withdraw up the spout of the dispenser, as though it's drying out. The "proper" foaming soap doesn't do this, it appears to have something that stops it from drying out.

If the smell of the soap is important to you, diluted non-foaming soap will also have diluted fragrance.

    • +1

I mix mine 1/4 soap to 3/4 water and it foams great still… save yourself more money :)

      • -1

Ouch… almost feel like washing with only water 💦

        • -1

You clearly didn't try it, because it foams just as much as the original

      • +1

Tried that for the first time, it works great. Realised these "foaming" refills are mostly just water with a tiny bit of soap. One regular soap refill is the equivalent of probably buying 5 or 6 of these of these foaming refills maybe more

  • +1

Costco has them for $10.99 if people want it a but cheaper

  • Are these antibacterial?

  • hate the smell
