      and further down

Hob compatibility: all hobs except induction

    • Clear case of rtfm

  • Good price for a cooker, especially for a big brand one.

But for simple cooking, I optted for the 1800w Kmart Electric Frypan for $32. It does the cooker job also including the pan and lid! Also since it is integrated so it has better fast thermal transfer less energy waste. Plus it is $32.

different heating technology compared to induction which heats the pan directly aswell without heating an element, still good option

    • I dont think that's induction, which uses magnets.

  • would this be able to make a good sear on a steak ?

  • Has anyone gotten access to the Choice magazine reviews on these portable induction cookers? I read an article basically saying they're more trouble than they're worth unless you have a specific use case for them such as camping or caravaning. The base is generally one size so unless your everyday cooking uses a perfect fit pot or pan then you lose efficiency as the coils are working optimally. You do still reduce indoor pollution by avoiding gas though.
