670

Best value Drill/ Impact Driver/ Grinder combo on the market right now by far, with the paddle switch grinder model to make it extra good value and extra safe (or at least a bit less dangerous).

Includes:

  • DCD709 18V XR BRUSHLESS Compact Hammer Drill Driver,
  • DCF809 18V XR BRUSHLESS Compact Impact Driver,
  • DCG406N 18V XR BRUSHLESS 125mm Grinder,
  • 2x DCB182-XE 18V 4.0Ah Battery Packs,
  • DCB115 18V XR Li-Ion Multi Voltage Charger.

No Dewalt redemptions but it does come with one of the fancy modular toolboxes to keep it in if that's your thing.

$349 after Bunnings e-voucher.

No idea about stock levels, all I know is there's one fewer now than there was last night.

    Pretty good price.

I bought a milwaukee drill/driver combo with charger and 2xM18 and 1xM12, with another M18 coming in via redemption. That was about $500.

Honestly, if milwaukee didn't have such a vast range of tools - i would look at Dewalt/Makita/AEG.

    Much better value.

    • That's why I went with Milwaukee, too. If you're going to lock yourself into a battery ecosystem you want to ensure there's a good range of skins to use it in.

Having said that, if the tools in this deal are all you need then it's a great price. It's becoming slim pickings around the country now https://nrby.in/bunnings/0210777.

Re. stock levels, I was pleasantly surprised this is available for delivery and delivery is free, so don't bother trying to chase stock, just order it while you can.

Delivery is tied to your local store though, im not sure the range each store will deliver to but if u can get it delivered then a store near u must have had stock. Also i found out yesterday that if i logged in through onepass it would let me order delivery on items the website was telling me i couldn’t have delivered. I placed the order, got a phone call from my local store a few hrs later telling me they cancelled the order as they have no stock.

I went from milwaukee to Makita.
i only used milwaukee because on site they provided batteries. now that i have my own business i use Makita, and they do have a vast range for both work and play.

    • Where were you able to find the Milwaukee drill/driver combo for $500? Been looking to get it myself.

      • Pretty sure it was somewhere around $550 or $600 a month or two ago. Don't remember it being cheaper.

    • Batteries will be 8x better on DeWalt than Milwaukee but the drills start whirring after a few years compared to Milwaukee.

There is never a good sweet spot… Every company has pros and cons

      • Consider you can get adaptors to other brands. I can convert my bosch batteries to Ryobi.

Great pricing, only let down is the impact and hammer driver included in this kit is underpowered, so maybe just good for home DIY :/

For another $50, this kit includes 3x PowerStack batteries (worth twice the price over regular batteries), but has no angle grinder, smaller toolbox and no gift card however the included DCF850 impact and DCD805 hammer drill is far superior. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/850892

    • What do you reckon about this AEG deal? On par or better than this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/850892 ?

Can't go wrong with either one imo. AEG impact driver is a little more powerful I think. However you get 1 less battery. They're giving you a set of impact bits worth maybe $30, whreas the Dewalt offer is a free 1.7ah powerstack battery via redemption. It's worth 4x more than the bits.

Good thing with Dewalt is lots of yanks have this and they compare it with other tools/version so you get good idea of comparible models.
AEG is rebranded as RIDGID in America and its more priced like Ryobi (cheaper), nothing wrong with that, sorta like how Ozito is rebadged as well. Just imo by changing to AEG brand they jackup the price to a premium level, when its far cheaper in the US.

Total Tools have that kit for $379 atm and $50 bonus points too

    • This is the reason I paid for the $849 bundle (DCF850 + DCD805) instead of the $809 bundle (DCF809 + DCD709). The less powerful versions are part of the "Atomic" line (and marketed as such on the $809 bundle box) being slightly more compact whilst still using the 18V batteries ie. longer runtime / less power.

Already have 2 tools in their subcompact 12V Xtreme line. A Reddit search suggested the 18V Atomic line wasn't compact enough as the 12V Xtreme line and didn't provide enough power as the full 18V XR line.

  • Marketing, price something better at a little higher… The basic DeWalt 3pc for $350 is a bargin, with 2 batts, storagebox ~ all but tradies will be happy with it. Tradies kill tools (better the tool than them) and they are brushless models! No, they have 'better' models, more power/toque but here is the thing, 99.9% of home owners will never use the drill to the point where they would have been better off with a slightly better model!

Uses for the drill impact driver is to drill, drive some screws into the woodern fences paillings! As the wood drys and ages, it warps and pulls the air hammer nails loose. Go drill it and drive in a screw into each (in addition, I didnt bother removing the nails unless bent, ugly or rusted)! The grinder has lots of uses, from old rusty padlocks to taking the heads of nails. Go forth and tool away!
