This sucks, we bought my nephew a 4gb model from officeworks last week

    • Are you saying this model is not good ? Why please?

      • +6

Well, I paid $247 last week for 4gb model…. This is 13 bucks more for the 8 gb version which would be better…

This is just a nephew, his broken multiple iPads nd we can’t afford to keep replacing so I looked up this machine the specs seem decent for the price point, it just as mention for 13 bucks more I would of rather get him the better model as his bday not still for a month

        • +1

Can you not return it to Officeworks?

        • +6

Oh, so your situation sucks, not the device. Just return and get the 8Gb one.

        • Get him better one when he breaks this one. Save the 13 bucks for the next victim.

Maybe start to invest in good kids case…..

          • +1

@Anubizz: invest in good kids! that is very wise indeed.

          • @Anubizz: sadly my brother son has autism and other issues non verbal, does not matter what type of case we have gotten him… he still mentions to break the iPads, reason I said this time we will look at other cheaper options are its not fair my mother or grandmother keeps replacing it for him as ipads are not cheap

grandmother/mother want him to have always device as it has helped him a lot over the past year

          MediaTek Helio G88 Processor (2.00 GHz )

          Yep makes sense. Slow af.

        • Not only has 4gb more ram it has LTE/4G Simcard support

  • Does this support Neflix @ FHD? Can anyone confirm?

    • I have seen a YT review that said it is widevine whatever compatible, so I think so. But haven't tested with mine yet. Got one from the previous deal on the weekend and it has already arrived.

  • Thinking about this or a Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad 2024 from AE when on sale. For the kids of course. Any thoughts on which to go for?

    • +2

Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad 2024 is any day better than this. I have both and I can surely say, this Lenovo Tab M11 is crap.

      • Any issues with play store? Did you purchase China or global ROM?
Looks like Global doesn't support OTA updates

        • I bought this one - China ROM - Paid AUD 319 ( 8GB/256GB 12.7" Screen )
What are these OTA updates? what is the problem if I dont get them?Is there any alternative?

          • @smiles: ota over the air, meaning software update getting push to your device just like your samsung or iphone here
alternatively you need to side load them manually.

            • @CyberMurning: If I have a chinese ROM tablet, will OTA not work? Basically is there any webpage I can see to configure my tablet on the first use?

Luckily I did not buy the one with unlocked boot loader.

              • @smiles: i think ota or not is not depending on chinese or english rom. i mean even custom rom like LineageOS pushes their ota updates! its depend if the manufacturer wants to give you or not. remember they need to develop their own android skin on top of vanilla android from google.

so just google around to see what is the latest android for your device and where to get it

              • @smiles: I'll give you the real answer. The Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2023 has no global ROM available as it's a China only model. Any "global ROM" is just a ROM from a different Lenovo tablet flashed on-top with a locked bootloader. Essentially no OTA updates, no Netflix HD and bad performance.

China ROM is legitimate and will give you OTA updates, Netflix HD etc.

          • @smiles: went by link and was slapped with 339+gst=375 price, how did you get 319 ?

      • Got a link for the Xiaoxin Pad 2024?

  • +2
    • SAMSUNG for sure, but i can see there were only 4 in stock?

    • I bealive that Chinese model

    • if you need a simcard or have use with a pen avoid the a9+

  • Anyone have experience with running Zwift on this?

    • Should be more than enough. This is better spec than what zwift tablets have. Give them a call and make sure you can use third party devices before buying

  • Just bought one tonight from JB HiFi for $249. Sale is on till the end of the month :)

    • This is for the 8gb version.

      • Yeah double the ram and comes with LTE/4G Simcard support. no point in buying the 4GB model when this is $260 for the top model (minus the 13mp camera only sold in india)

  • I just bought one yesterday from The Good Guys with $283. 😅

However, I got the extended warranty for 3 years for another $75. Good Guys said they provide a $20 voucher 3 times a year for next 3 years.

I spent a total of $358, compared to this offer of $267. Worth it though? Given I'm getting $180 store credit and I always buy electronics anyway, plus the replacement warranty for 3 years.

What do you guys reckon? 😅
