Motorola Moto G54 5G - Midnight Blue 8GB RAM/128GB Storage $29 with an Eligible Plan (Minimum $30 Plan) Delivered @ amaysim

1820

I got an email with a code for an extra $150 off their EOFY deals, which includes the Motorola Moto G54 5G.

The code reduces the cost of the device to $29.00 however you need to add a plan (cheapest is $30 plan) bringing the total to a measly $59.00.

There could be some good deals on other phones but this one is likely to be the best.

I've flagged the deal as Targeted as I'm not sure if it is or not but better to be on the safe side. If the code turns out to be generic then I can update the post with the coupon.

Edit
I'm guessing I've been targeted because they think I'm still using a 3G device, hence the email I received refers to upgrading to a 4G/5G handset and that's what the additional credit is for.

Anyone have a screen shot of the deal/cart they could post please?

  • Is it worthwhile to get the Moto G62 for extra $70? I know it is depend on what I need. Honestly, it would be nice to have the option of esim. But apart from esim is G84 or G62 much better than G54?

    Any advice is appreciated.

    • When I say extra $70, I meant to compare with the $59 deal for Moto G54.

    • Well the G62 is already a 2 year old phone and doesn't offer anything over the G54 apart from maybe a Snapdragon chipset if thats what you prefer but only 4GB RAM, wouldn't pay more than the G54 for it.

The G84 over G54, loses esim but gets Snapdragon, P-OLED screen, 50% more RAM, double the storage, 30W fast charging plus in-screen fingerprint scanner if thats your thing.

The chipset in the G84 is aging now, the Mediatek in the G54 performs very well, slightly faster than the G84 is most areas actually.

$59 deal aside. the G54 has been as low as ~$180 in the last month, sub $200 is good value but it's sitting around $250 (maybe a bit less with Plus on eBay)
The G84 has gone as low as ~$250 recently, I believe can still get for around $270 from Big W

If you need to buy now, I'd get G84. If you can wait for a drop on the G54 and don't need the features mentioned above I'd do that.

If you are just trying to use your Amaysim voucher for a spare phone, the Samsung A13 4G is better value than the G62 (the A13 5G model doesn't have a full HD screen) and will still only cost at most $59.

Great reply. A13 4g does it have NFC? Amaysim website says no but GSM yes - region specific.

        • Ah good point. Kind of overlooked it thinking it's a given in phones these days but you're right, no NFC.

      • Very detailed reply. Thank you very much. I received the $150 Amaysim code but was too busy to notice G54 only cost $54 back in June. Now G84 is not avalable via Amaysim. Only G62 at $249 and G54 at $279. So your advice helped me a lot. You are right and I think it is not worth to get G62 without esim and only 4GB RAM.

        • I guess even if you need to buy the plan with it the G54 at $159 is the cheapest deal right now. Still think it's good value under $200

          • @bamzero: Yes, agree. I only need a spare phone and not urgent. So might just wait a bit longer.
