  • Man, stuck in some kafkaesque adventure with amaysim. Was a customer with them a year back, and they have an expired credit card on file for me. When I try to order a sim using the email address, it prompts me to pay using that credit card and gives me no option to change it. Instead it says I can login to my account and change it there.

    When I try to login to my account, it says I don't have an active number and gives me no option to change anything.

    Support is absolutely insane. They've repeatedly told me I cannot change my payment method as I do not have an active number, and then when I challenge them on the fact that to have an active number, I need to be able to pay and that requires me to change my payment method, they just change the subject. Then they repeatedly ask for my old card so they can remove it and I repeatedly tell them I don't have the details, and they go back to banging on about being unable to change payment details without an active number.

    If anybody has been able to work around this let me know!

    Order 2 sims on Friday, both cashback just got approved and withdrawn. The sims are not even here yet.

  • If I want to port my number to amaysim do I have to do that right away, or can I select "pick a new number" now and port when the sim card arrives. If I plan on porting a number for someone else as well, do I need to put in their name/DOB on the checkout page, or are my details fine?

    • You have to do it when you order the sim card and do it in two separate orders with different details in each order to get the cashback.

  • Amaysim's ID verification system does not work. I have tried using all different IDs and they all fail.
    Contact Amaysim support via the Amaysim app but it keeps ending my sessions while I was still in the queue saying user inactivity for too long!
    When the time reached 6:45pm, no one processing the queue anymore so I am unable to activate my SIM tonight…..

    My Amaysim account was created back in 2009. Don't know why they need to verify my ID again but their system fails!!!

      Please be cautious if you need to use the Amaysim service ASAP because their ID verification system does not work. I am unable to port my number to Amaysim as it gets stuck at the ID verfication stage. I contact Amaysim support and they need to get it handled by the porting team but they said it might take 1-3 business days. I am now waiting for their porting team to call me back for further instructions.

      You had better stay away from it if you can't risk not able to activate your Amaysim service for a few days.

  • Ok, so SIM has arrived and I've put it in. I live literally across the road from the CBD of a capital city (in a building that shouldn't present an issue for phone reception), and the SIM has connected on 5G at 3mbps. On a Boost SIM (Telstra network) I get 130mbps in the same room.

    The Amaysim service isn't really useable. Optus network strikes again.

      I've hit around 100Mbit on these Amaysims in low population area east of Melbourne.
      Average is around 60Mbit.

    1. I just purchased a SIM but it says it has already been activated on their website. How does this work with activation? It is still in the mail I may miss on some days?
    2. Do you need to do anything actively in order to avoid recharge to just throw away the sim at the end of the pacakage.

    • Ya have to turn off auto recharge maybe? I think.

    • With new number (not porting), it's active already. You just need to do live chat with amaysim customer service in its website and say that you just received the new sim card, but it's been activated. You ask the customer service to change the date start from today. I did this with my first Amaysim previously this month. I just purchased a second Amaysim through Cashrewards in Chrome mobile browser in my phone and tracked in less than 10 minutes.

    Had to cancel all orders and get a refund from Amaysim.

      accidentally didn't have enough funds on two of the purchases. didn't seem to be an issue.

      had an old amaysim number i liked. i sadly didn't recharge $10 on it a coupl months back and it properly expired .

      tried to use the phone number custom search thing and got a very similar number where one of the numbers changed from a 1 to 4 :)).

      So tbh easy to remmeber as hell as my old one haha

      • Via browser means via browser, not via the CR app. I don't use an ad-blocker, and the NBN is irrelevant to CR tracking.

  • As long as everyone shares their tracking speed: no tracking in 7 days, one painful claim later, let's see how long it will take cashrewards to fix it, or if I lose the money. Should have used top cashback.

      I've used all three for Amaysim, and I find Cashrewards to be the most reliable. It's always a pain to file a claim from any of the cashback sites.

    @ronnknee: I think you're saying that if I refer a friend to CashRewards & he bought this money-back offer on his 1st-purchase, then his purchase DON'T qualify. Is this correct ?

  • The cr app on 2 of my iPhones 14 and 11 has not tracked for 5 amaysim orders since June 17. Deleted it and reinstalled it and still no tracking.
    The same deal on the topcashback app tracked.

    I think it’s an app error.

    The reason is that I just did an amaysim order on cr website. I used the iphone14, and chrome incognito. And it tracked.

    Hope they fix it

    • I always use the CR app, I've had amaysim track and not track. On the same network each time, doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it.

    • The sims arrive already activated so you don't have to activated it. When you put the sim in your device within the first 10 days, it resets the start date.

    • The sims come 'pre-activated' sometimes. Usually if you have logged into your amaysim account after purchase.

    • With eSIM - needs to be installed within 20d. Cashback is available shortly after that.

  • How weird. I purchased the physical sim 13 days ago and it has already been approved.
    The problem is I haven't actually received the sim yet.
    I got an email to say that the sim has been dispatched today so might receive it tomorrow after 14 days or on Monday.

    • Amaysim don't supply an order number, you submit the Invoice number to CR.
