      amusing article.

      VPN's certainly don't secure your traffic. I've often said that funneling all your traffic through an unknown companies servers is stupid and The antithesis of being secure.

      But the blog post fails to mention the important use, geo-relocation (making your connection appear to be from another country). VPN's are very handy for this. Nord is one of the better ones.

      Also the most obvious one is torrenting. Which can be useful, although I'd personally set it up to geo-relocate to a country that's not so copyright concerned & make sure that killswitch is on & actually working.

        Yes. The only purpose is to making the geolocation to appear as it is from a different country. That is about it. There are other tools that caters for this anyway.

        Otherwise, all data transmitted is handled by the provider. Caveat emptor.

        Nothing is free.
