    $99 connection fee
    24 month contract
    Need an active phone line
    Peers to Telstra (TID)

@Rep - what happens if you want to change plans? Go up higher? Will you still receive a $10 discount if you change your spend level? Can you purchase data blocks if you become capped? What is the capped speed?

    • Thanks, Rep should have put those T&C's in the description!

  • -2

Any chance of no contract and no connection fee?

    • Any chance of being realistic for once?? Pfft..

  • So it is only a normal ADSL2+, right? Nothing faster?

So why is it a bargain to post here?

  • +6

not that special considering the price of unlimited plans that include a phone line

  • rang twice, but the person answering the phone cant even hear me .. !!

NO BARGAIN!! Eftel offer $49.95 Unlimited ADSL2+ with Home Phone (12 Month contract, connection fee $69)
    http://comms.iselect.com.au/bundles/plans/eftel/local-unlimi…

  • Hi Xetrok,

No charge to switch to a higher plan, however the discount is only applicable to the 300gb plan as per the promotion.

We use a combination of Telstra and AAPT networks, you cannot purchase data blocks but you can switch to pay as you go data at a rate of $1.50 per gigabyte for the remainder of the month connections are shaped to 128kbps

    Thanks,

  • Damn ads

  • Hi Ravzter,

Sorry to hear that, if you send an email to [email protected] we can call you back if you like.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Pentridgesx,

I suggest that you read the reviews of cheaper providers in Whirlpool before you make a decision on who to sign up with.

    Thank you,

    Pennytel has unlimited for $20
    https://www.pennytel.com.au/penny-broadband/adsl-2-plus-plan…

plus $22.95 for Telstra phone line

    • +1, both is AAPT.

    • Also keep in mind that with Penny Broadband if you can only access Telstra DSLAMs then you also need to pay a $19 offnet surcharge. Still a good deal though price-wise.

  • Hi bentan77,

Again I strongly suggest that you read the reviews of the cheaper providers on Whirlpool before making any decisions on which broadband product you purchase.

I would offer the same advice to you or anyone else even if I was not a rep of Tdsl.

    Thanks for your comments,

    • total monthly cost would be $69 with a telstra line,
im on tpg with 0 issues for $59 total cost

      • Me 2. Anyway, it also depends on the luck.

But this is more like SPAM rather than a good deal.

Yeah. Maybe don't advise people to look at Whirlpool too much.

EDIT For some reason I thought this was a TPG deal. My bad.

Tdsl appears to have virtually no information about them on Whirlpool.

  • NO BARGAIN!!! Not as good as Eftel… but, TPG $49/month for 500Gb with $59 set up fee, 12 months contract… or 18 month contract and no set up fee.

    • Could you even use tpg's 500gb per month with their speeds even if you were using it 24/7 up/downloading???

  • This is not a bargain..

  • I pay $47.50 to Exetel for 300MB Telstra dslam adsl2+. And this is not a special or anything it's their normal price. Very happy with my pings&speeds.

    • Try getting such a deal now with Exetel. It is not available. In fact, a lot of their off-net customers are being forced on more expensive plans.

    • +1

Yeah Exetel is about to lose a swag of customers with their new plans. I'm being forced to pay nearly $20/month extra for nothing. No thanks!

  • not that I like the company (as they got my number some how and don't stop calling !!) but Club Telco is very cheap. Unlimited as low as $25pm (for the few in their area) $40 for most people in metro and $60 for the rest. NO CONTRACT or setup fees but they are a "club" so have a $50 a year fee. All plus line rental. the best thing is the no contract or large setup fees. Great for short term renters etc

    • Dunno, but to me a recurring $50 membership fee isnt much better than a once-off set up fee..!

      • I thought it was a worthwhile gamble when I switched to them recently, as NBN was due to be active in my area before 12 months was up. So i went with club telco due to the no contracts thing, and looked at the $50 membership as a 'set up' fee, and hope I'll be on the NBN before I have to pay it again….

They've been no worse than TPG, reliability wise. (But TPG only had adsl1 in my area as their dslam was full, so moving to clubtelco got me on adsl2+, so I am seeing a huge speed increase).

  • I think for people on Telstra DSLAMs, this is not a bad deal at all. Especially for Zone 3 customers.
Speed and reliability is the question mark though. Sure, Pennybroadband is cheap for $39 unlimited, but people aren't getting the greatest speeds at the moment .. and I worry about leechers getting onto this plan and making it even worse.
If this TDSL deal doesn't have the woeful speeds of other cheap providers then personally I think this is a very good deal.

    • Ignore this previous message, I think the checker was wrongly saying the plan was available … I have tried it again now and they have greyed it out!

If you are in Perth [maybe adelaide also?], and want to pay $49, Amnet is excellent value.

The support team are fair dinkum aussies based in Perth and have been within the top 3 support ratings in all of Australia over the last maybe 3 years.

Uploads not counted, Off peak all weekend.

My basic plan is 200gb peak and off peak combined and the off peak weekends are excellent, flog s**t out of it from midnight friday until 7am monday.

WAIX for gaming and radio streaming etc total for me is a total of 400gb on top of basic.

My plan is $49, on an amnet enabled dslam.

    info below:

    Plan Name
    ADSL 2+ Enabled 80G/120G - $49.00

    Off-Peak Basic:
    120 GB

    Off-Peak Peering:
    240 GB

    Peak Basic:
    80 GB

    Peak Peering:
    160 GB

The customer support team really is world class

    • Their off-net pricing is horrendous. And add an extra $11/month for regional on top of that. Telstra is cheaper.

  • I am in the process of looking for a net broadband contract. TPG is offering ADSL2+ with around 3.5MBPS download speeds in my area. Can anyone suggest is this speed enough to watch smart TV PGMS (such as YouTube, flicker etc) or I should go for higher speed plans such as cable plans.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
