A bit of a niche deal, but if you're after a compact DC load and already have the MDP-M01 screen, this is an option. If you don't, it'll be an extra US$46.78+gst.

It can test 60V 10A up to 100 watts. CC range goes down to 15mA with 1mA resolution.

The load alone usually sells for A$280-$300.

  • Is the miniware unit really worth the premium over say something like this https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005992326848.html

    • +1

That's actually a power supply which is the opposite of a DC load.

It's definitely a niche product. It's one of those things where if you need it you need it… it certainly isn't one of those "I just bought it, now to figure out what it is" products! :)

      • What would you use it for? Yourself?
        Just curious.

a DC electronic load instrument can be used to measure power conversion efficiency directly. These systems also provide a way to test other aspects of the system, such as thermal behavior and to investigate sources of EMI at high power

Battery capacity testing, characterizing buck/boost converters or cheap USB chargers, keeping my fingers warm…

  • Shows as AU$87.62 for me… 🤨

Definitely handy for my work (electronics hardware), but i haven’t had a major need for one lately.

This unit has a wacky fancy screen and UI. I’m used to a numbered display with buttons or knobs and it just works. No waveform or anything. Fancy.

Hmm, the default product is the MDP-M01 screen. Could that be it?

I too prefer buttons and knobs - it's much quicker than fiddling with a tiny UI. If space/clutter wasn't a concern, I'd go for full-sized equipment any day. This tiny thing can be tucked away in a drawer when not in use though, which is a big plus for me!

      • No it’s when i click on the deal link and the model number is the same as the deal.

Funny now it’s gone further down. Still might not buy it, hehe.

  • Strange, when I clicked on the original link above, it showed a higher price. But when I checked my window that I still had open, it still had the cheaper price. I've updated the deal with that specific URL and unmarked the expiry. It shows the cheaper price in incognito so hopefully that works for everyone else.

    • I’ve found that AE and Banggood do price trickery and it often seems somewhat random. I don’t like these websites much.
