DISKAD (Rebranded Bosch Series 6/8) Integrated Dishwasher $319 ($287 IKEA Family Price) + Delivery ($0 C&C) @ IKEA In-store Only

4110

Not sure if this is price error, but regular price wasn't $319 from vague memory. Google search shows as $1599.

Manufacturer number for this product is 23320, which is made by Bosch as per Ikea Belgium website.

Not sure about specific model, but Bosch only makes fully integrated dishwasher for series 6 and 8, which cost $1000 and up.

Deactivated user mentioned it's similar to Series 8 SMV88TX02A

tonester mentioned "IKEA integrated PROFFSIG and DISKAD are rebranded Series 6 and 8 respectively"

          • @vawiyoci: I have a feeling not many were buying them at $1,600 RRP. That’s premium territory and few knew they’re rebranded Bosch models.

At that price point you’d go and get a branded one if you didn’t know.

        • Bosch seem to dump stock from time to time at crazy prices when new models coming out. I've got done very nice blue tools from previous deals for basically nothing.

IMO they probably tell the retailer that the items are free and to just to clear the pipeline and not send the old models back.

    • +2

It is on clearance and thus the low price. If it wasn't on Ozbargain they would all be in stock still. Because a typical Ikea buyer does not know Diskad is a Bosch and would walk past the $319 price. The nerds and geeks here know it's a Bosch series 8 model and then the sheer amount of eyeballs on Ozbargain, pretty much sealed the deal and it mostly all sold out in milliseconds. As of this moment, this Ozbargain page is getting 1000-1300 clicks still every 24hrs so a lot of people refreshing checking stock every second of the day and any stock that comes in is sold in seconds and if click and collect is not available, 20 people rock up at the store at 10am opening. So keep refreshing the page every minute for the next 2 weeks :-)

      • +2

it has became a lottery :)

        • I'm glad I'm one of the winners! :D

    • Also, real estate. Each dishwasher is a pallet each. Another commenter said Ikea has a full warehouse of these. They obviously want to offload to store newer or other items.

  • Just realised the front panel is not available for purchase in stainless steel at the moment for my area unless I order at least two.

    • buy another dishwasher and problem is solved :)

      • +1

I have contacted customer support and they said I can order two panels for delivery and return one to the store.

        • Ah, that is great advice. I had one staff was joking with me about using the dishwasher for one year and then returning it

          • @legelas: They even said I can contact them and they will refund the delivery fee on the panels.
Now to think about whether I need to get the plinth as well or just leave it…

            • @keejoonc: wow, that's beyond my expectations. I will do the same then, I pretty much prefer a stainless steel front because my cabinet is not from IKEA, so at least it would look half-decent. BTW what is the plinth for?

              • +1

                @legelas:

                plinth

Kickboard/skirting if you care about seeing the bottom section here. The 80cm door should cover most of it?

              • +1

@legelas: It's to cover the bottom of the dishwasher

                • @keejoonc: I'd 100% get it. Keep dirt and rubbish from getting underneath the dishwasher. An 80-cm door would cover most but not all of the space. There will be a small gap at the bottom.

                  • @legelas: what would you get? matching Ikea one is $85.50 and no option for click and collect either. It's sold in 220cm x 8cm size.

                    • @keejoonc: I would probably get the stainless steel one cuz it'd be easier to clean. However, I might change my mind due to stock limitation

                      • @legelas: No idea why that small piece is as expensive as the door panel.

                        • +1

@keejoonc: You guys solved the mystery for this deal. Turns out this dishwasher is simply a loss leader for Ikea to offload overpriced joinery pieces.

                        • @keejoonc: It's just like printers are cheaper than ink LOL. I don't have an IKEA cabinet so I will probably get something cheap for the bottom piece

                          • @legelas: If you find a good alternative, please share.
Door panel I thought wasn't too expensive but the bloody plinth is a rip off!
Then again, can't complain when you consider the deal we are getting on the machine itself.

  • NSW / Sydney folks…..no stock last couple of days? Seems like all stock is going to Melbourne and QLD? One thing I have noticed is that this Bosch model is quite old also, released 6 years ago and it doesn't have a lot of features that even dishwashers in 2024 half the price has like auto door and energy saving drying after the cycle, etc. But when it came out, it was expensive and it still was last year at around $1500 so you can say you are buying Bosch build quality even though it is a 2018 model. It would explain the clearance price.

    • Bosch's 'Perfect Dry' (or 'crystal dry' for other countries) feature with Zeolith mineral for drying which Diskad has is $400 more in RRP than those with 'Auto Door' feature. 287 is still a bargain for a 2018 model.

  • Springvale store might not get any more stock. They removed the estimated stock update and changed the store to "Not Sold here."

  • +1

    delivery restock in melb/around springvale!

was just able to order one via delivery in melb! would've picked up at springvale store otherwise

  • In stock at masden park again!

    • +1

Snagged one for pickup, fingers crossed 🤞. Mine is roughly 12 years old and sometimes leaks water from the front.

      Edit: got cancelled yay…

      • +1

Mine is ready for pickup, must have snuck through

        • lucky you, well done and congrats :)

  • So which door panel goes on without modification?
What else is needed to use this as freestanding?

    • To use it freestanding, the best option would be to build a "box" with the worktop around it because the dishwasher is mostly galvanised metal outside, plus some kind of a front panel with a handle and a plinth (optional). Note that it must be attached to the wall, or it may tip forward while opening.

      • If I have fixed cabinets on the site and a benchtop I can’t be cut. How do I brace it to the wall? As I won’t be able to access the back or sides when it’s pushed into position

        • +2

I would have thought fixing it to the wall is only required if you are using it as "freestanding"? if you have a built in space like I do, wouldn't you just adjust the height so that it's flush against the top of the cabinet, which obviously will fix it in place?

        • As @keejoonc told below, I was referring to using it as freestanding unit.
If you have cabinets on the sides, this dishwasher is screwed to them at the end of the installation process.

  • +1

Thanks to whoever must've returned a single unit to Logan this morning.

    • How did you manage to snag it?

      • +2

Drove a 20 min drive in about 6 mins.

        Joking (mostly).

Was irked this morning that I missed out on the stock at North lakes by about 5 mins. Checked back a few times over the next few hours. Saw Logan pop back in stock - in store purchase only. Thought I'd give it a shot. Was very pleasantly surprised to find it still in stock just after 11am. "1 only" in stock.

The woman at pickup had snagged one for herself and was like "gee, I thought these were all gone?!". No kidding!

  • Would be nice if IKEA shared the love and sent some here to Adelaide. I don't think it's been restocked once since selling out.

  • +2

Seems like it's been removed from the ikea website now

  • +1

Yup, removed from the website. Between scalpers and the 22,000 other clicks on this deal, most had NO CHANCE.

      • I called e&s 5x to get the $999 deal but didn't get it..this deal was my silver lining.

    • +1

I had a good chance when it was first posted but thought it was a white coloured dishwasher, not realising the panel needs to be purchased separately.

I think people are dreaming if they think they can sell an IKEA dishwasher for $1000, even though it's really a Bosch.

  • +2

I had to compete to buy this dishwahser..
Now I have to compete again with those who got one to sell my old dishwasher as they sell theirs on marketplace.

  • For the Sydneysiders, there is one for sale on Gumtree for $450 - located in Ryde, could try pushing them down in price.

    https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/ryde/dishwashers/diskad-60cm…

    • +2

$450 isn't too bad tbh, they're not asking for $1000.

      • +2

$450 is bad if you understand Ikea does not extend warranty to 2nd owner. Plus $150 for door and plinth. So $600 and no warranty. Also the Bosch model being 6 years old released in 2018. For $287 + $150 for door and plinth it was a killer deal only because of 5 years of warranty even it being a very old 2018 model.

        • $450 is bad if you understand Ikea does not extend warranty to 2nd owner.

How would they know someone is the second owner? Do they check ID?
Would they reject the claim if the buyer's spouse or kids brought it back?

          • +1

@eug: Not sure, but I guess it will drill down to whether you are able to provide an original invoice (or have the purchase record in Ikea member history). Both would be difficult to get if buying second hand.

Secondly, when making a warranty claim, they may check one's address against their database before sending a technician. Any mismatch may raise queries about the invoice and such.

One may assume that Bosch manufactured goods are quite reliable. My experience speaks otherwise. My quite fancy Siemens dishwasher (top of the line at the time with LCD display etc) got repaired two times under the warranty and broke again after it expired.

In any case, I would not want to deal with such a headache.

So, I agree with Dollar Dreamer: when buying from Ikea it was a good deal (keeping in mind that the appliance will not be treated as top European brand when you sell the property).

Buying it from a third party at any price is a gamble and should be treated as such. Scalpers will be all right though as they are not risking anything:)

            • @AFOS:

Not sure, but I guess it will drill down to whether you are able to provide an original invoice (or have the purchase record in Ikea member history). Both would be difficult to get if buying second hand.

Oh yes I would expect the seller to provide the original invoice, otherwise I doubt Ikea would be able to help with anything.

It'll be interesting to see what happens when a buyer pays a scalper $800 and are given an invoice showing $287!

Secondly, when making a warranty claim, they may check one's address against their database before sending a technician. Any mismatch may raise queries about the invoice and such.

I doubt that would be a problem. They can't refuse warranty service because I e.g. get my mail delivered to a business address but bought the dishwasher for home for example.

          • @eug: No mate, they won't… See my other comment

        • +2

Mate… That's not true at all - where in the terms is that stated? Funny enough, it literally states "Keep the instruction manual and the product information safe for future reference or for the next owner."

Plus, ACCC applies to as many owners as you want, and allows you to enact their warranty (whether as warranty or consumer guarantee) easily.

"The rights apply whether the consumer is the original buyer or a subsequent owner (such as someone who has been given the product or bought it second-hand)."

          • @Increase1: For the sake of argument, how long do you believe a sub-$300 dishwasher should last from point of view of ACL?

You will have a hard time protecting your rights in xCAT (if it comes to that) without having an original invoice from the first owner for a higher amount. Even if you get it, you will need to prove that any faults had not been caused by original owner's mishandling.

It all sounds good in theory but when it comes to practice, you will need to bring an expect to the tribunal to prove your point. They do not work for free. Been there, done that.

So, I would stay away from buying any white goods second hand. But each to their own.

            • @AFOS:

For the sake of argument, how long do you believe a sub-$300 dishwasher should last from point of view of ACL?

don’t confuse purchase price with normal/usual price :)

            • @AFOS: Easily 5-10 years. Dishwasher’s are used every day in rentals, they go and go and go - unless they’re a lemon. Anyway, the RRP is a better determiner for ACL claim durations.

Ive had shit replaced under ACCC for less.

The receipt is the golden ticket here regardless. Who cares if they paid less than you are paying them, always ask for a receipt - if you consider it worth it for you now, their price shouldn't matter. The receipt is most important thing

        • Can smell the bitterness from here…

        • Ikea does not extend warranty to 2nd owner

  • STOCK AVAILABLE TEMPE

    • +3

oh actually i'd like to correct my statement.
I still had 1 in my cart (but with no stock available) from anubis's comment, so i just left it in my cart despite me not being able to buy it.

I went back to my cart today and it showed stock in tempe. i can only imagine their jumping back in stock as the last of them get shipped out to stores.

I have since clicked the link on the OP, and it doesn't show the dishwasher at all…

so if you still have it in your cart, give it a shot?

  • maybe also available in Richmond for the Vic team. Could only add to cart via my purchase history (works from actual purchase and a cancelled card fail, both add to cart again), not via archive.org nor browser history… so you may need to head in store (which is a bit unfortunate for those who have missed out).

    • I too can access it in the phone app from my purchase history.

Or, does this link work on your phone with the IKEA app installed? https://ingka.page.link/o87vjDB9sYuzGMon9

      • Option to add again to cart appears to be disabled on webpage, semi viable from app - which is showing stock available at Tempe and North Lakes. Richmond now OOS.

        • Richmond had 3 in store this morning but just missed out as the 4th person in line.Told us they weren't expecting more stock but who knows.

          • @kornsjd: Where did you line up. I was there this morning and asked the guys at the checkout about it and they were clueless so I bought my stuff and left

            • @UcantCme: There was a guard on the stairs to the showroom and when he let people in we went to the kitchen area to try to place the order and that's where they told us we missed out by one.

              • @kornsjd: Sorry about that mate.. let's hope there's a few more coming to Melbourne

          • @kornsjd: Sorry to hear mate. Will try to tag you if I see it again, but getting harder / rarer and less frequent.

            • @xdpx: Ah bugger would love to know how people were still turning up in store to ask…?

              • @richmond12: Some maybe by chance / hope, some may have access to see via their purchase history (in app is how I can see where available). Possibly some clever folks doing a web script (likely offline now product page is gone) or still maybe via api access similar to nrby or youinstock (ie how the app can still tell me what is where; just when is now a manual check). Others it is maybe friends of the inventory folks at a store.

                • @xdpx: Sounds like its insider knowledge through the employees which is fair enough.

  • Ordered for delivery at 6:40am on Tuesday, delivered just now in Sydney.

  • +1

Looks like IKEA has removed it from their website now…

  • Does anybody have any other front cover options? The "METOD" mentioned earlier isn't available in my area.

Ideally would like something stainless steel with a hidden handle

    • The team members in kitchen area will help you out. I had a chat with staff in the seconds / as-is / returns area and bought a voxtorp (one with lip so no need for handles, is actually specifically mentioned in the DISKAD assembly manual). My understanding is that Metod is both an assembly system and a product line, and other product lines (but not all) are compatible with metod. Anything that uses metod system (like vox) will connect directly without need to drill & measure, and lots of else can connect by using the vaglig rail kit. Beware the panel dimensions (60x80) because some others maybe 62x80 for example, and ensuring you get it to sit flush will require some attention & possibly rework.

      • yeah i was looking at the voxtorp, as i saw that used in one of the installation videos, my only concern is after looking at the ikea website i don't think the voxtorp comes in stainless steel

        • +1

Yah s/s was also offered only as an online / special order from my local. My immediate needs weren't to match it with anything special, so a decent 2nd hand option was sufficient. Good thing is the options should remain available & accessible for quite a while because the metod system isn't being withdrawn.

          • @xdpx: does voxtorp come in 60x80cm size though? I can't seem to see it on the website.

              • @xdpx: Oh right. It's listed under the same page, as a different option. No wonder I couldn't find it.

                • @keejoonc: It was actually this one, because it was supplied without the vaglig rail-kit. $30 from the seconds / returns section. There were some other cheaper options but really terrible colours, unless you already have that in your kitchen then it would be perfect.

      • +1

Anything that uses metod system (like vox) will connect directly without need to drill & measure, and lots of else can connect by using the vaglig rail kit.

The Metod front panel that I bought was just a Vallstena cabinet door and VAGLIG rails in separate packaging.

The cabinet door was not predrilled; I had to measure and drill it myself. I didn't use the VAGLIG at all either; the instructions in the DISKAD manual show how to measure and drill the holes directly into the door. The drilling template is the plastic strip sitting inside the dishwasher rack when you first open it.

I imagine there would be other door models that would be predrilled, but I'm not sure which ones.

        • @eug what did you do for the plinth?

          • @keejoonc: I stopped looking down. :)

My original non-integrated dishwasher didn't have one anyway so I'm used to the bottom just being black.

            • @eug: I guess that's one option and a cheap option at that! I almost placed an order for the matching plinth from Ikea but I wasn't sure whether it would work with non-Ikea cabinets so decided to can that idea.

I will see how it looks after it's all installed. If I can't stand the look, I might see if I can just buy a piece of MDF timber and cut it into size and paint it.

Still have to buy the handle for the front cover as well…

              • @keejoonc:

I will see how it looks after it's all installed. If I can't stand the look, I might see if I can just buy a piece of MDF timber and cut it into size and paint it.

Yup no hurry since it's just for yourself. Might as well just wait and see how it looks.

Still have to buy the handle for the front cover as well…

I was lucky, I found a handle that matches my existing cabinet handles from Bunnings for about $4.

        • oh bugger, but that makes sense - my understanding is that Vallstena is essentially just a panel (and then, when sold with the rail-kit, they can say it is compatible with Metod, which is true for lots of panels + vaglig). Drill to measure should work for most other panels subject a few constraints like weight depth and dimensions. I cbf to muck around with that given I'm not trying to style match it with anything, and so functional & cheap was the target. Vox had the exact specific connection holes pre-drilled (suitable for the dishwasher and also as cabinetry doors). Plinth, if I can be bothered, will probably just be a piece of MDF offcut.

I got this one from the as-is/returns in high gloss or matt white for $30, and it has the holes pre-drilled and fitment is covered in the manual. Lip design also means no handle required.

    • Ive been looking around, and ran into this site, which appears to be where you could order a custom sized and colour panel.

      https://www.thekitchendoorcompany.com.au/products/panels-fra…

I'm seeing whether I can source a panel from the manufacturer of the rest of my kitchen at the moment - reaching out to a number of cabinet makers locally.

  • Does this connect to hot or cold water as Im sure I seen them connect to cold water in one of the videos?

So missing out 3 times this week trying to find stock in Sydney Ikea stores when trying to buy online and it selling out before I can check out fast enough or getting a rejected email and money refunded if I did manage to checkout. At least 4 hours of life wasted refreshing the stock page multiple times a day for 5 days. I gave up checking stock online as I realised that I couldn't compete with Facebook and Gumtree resellers / scalpers sitting at their computers all day and night like the rejects they are and refreshing stock checker every second for 24hrs a day. So I just drove to the Tempe store today at 10am on a whim. Lordy Lord Lord, 5 in stock, I managed to buy 2 units for $287 each and 2 Stainless steel door trims for $99 each and pickup at the same time but had to make 2 trips to get both home which sucked because I live 30 mins away from the Sydney Ikea store. I think the online Ikea stock checker has a lot of lag. Best thing to do is if you live close to an Ikea shop is to physically go there so the warehouse staff can physically check or use their internal stock checker which is different to the retail version of stock checker on the website. If you fail, the tiny cheese and onion hot dog for $3 is worth the trip. Thanks OP for 2 amazing dishwasher deals, 1 is replacing my 20 year old Fisher and Paykel that has been dead for 10 years and the 2nd one is replacing my dad's 12 year old Whirlpool brand that konked out 5 years ago.

    • Is this made in Germany like the Bosch one?

      • Yes it is.

      • 'DESIGN AND QUALITY IKEA OF SWEDEN AB', 'MADE IN GERMANY'.

    • Hi mate, really glad you got 1 or 2. Some of us have been trying to help out folks commenting where & when stock is available. Tempe has had a few for most of the day, comment early this morning from WhitePuma, also Richmond and North Lakes in the AM, and still last I checked but they are very popular. Canberra had stock then sold quickly. There are plenty of staff at IKEA that are keen but missing out on getting one. Tempe & North Lakes currently show stock in store as of 945pm aest.

      • +1

I didn't ask her if the remainder 3 were still available afterwards. I just grabbed mine and the stainless steel door trim at the same time and ran lol, out in 5 mins lol. Couldn't believe I got it. But yea, you cannot just check using the online stock checker, it's crap. It may work for some but you are competing with scalpers and resellers, high chance of failure. You have to physically go there and let the staff use the internal stock checker or physically check the warehouse. As for weight, it is 50KG but 1 person (Is it safe to say here….an average biological male?) can 'pivot' it into the car. The pickup area is stepped down for the car so if you reverse your SUV / Hatchback / Wagon in, the trolley raises the unit plus the step 40cm above the ground, just place the unit 20cm from the the bum of the vehicle and then pivot it into the vehicle trunk (don't try to fully lift it) and then drag up / push it in. Or better still, go with 2 people but I am not sure if people have a close enough friend that is willing to go to Ikea every morning at 10am to check stock. Like I said, the $3 tiny hot dog makes it worthwhile though.
