You don't actually need to send a phone

      • +2

Not sure what you mean by that. They will request you to send no? Do tell

  • is the $50 bonus still available and working? It's not on their website.

  • Can I do the trade-in in the store rather than online?

    • No

      • +2

That’s a shame, the scan of a primary ID and face verification is a red line for me. It’ll probably become a common thing soon enough (think I’ve read ubank uses something similar?) but “feels” unnecessarily risky atm for a measly fifty bucks.

        • +1

your personal details worth way more than that.

@neonlight: Yep but mine have already been leaked by the Optus, latitude, Medibank, shopback breach.

            So it's already out there

            • @edrift:

              shopback

              Consider,
              a.anonymous-ID wherever possible ?
              b.operate 2-mobile# & 2-email: PRIMARY purely for banking, restrict & necessary-ID-check (eg driver-license).

@shxhshzhz: But HN stock level was poor. A lot of stores don't even know the deal neither

  • using both the nokia 110 and the ruio both give you a "Not enough memory" error when trying to browse the www or logging into facebook. not sure how to fix it

    • which one is better?

      • depending on your needs. if its for an older end user i recommend Ruio for the bigger screen and keypad. if its for younger user then the nokia 110 as its a dual sim but has a smaller screen and keypad

    • trying to browse the www or logging into facebook

May be $50 is not-enough to buy the grunt/processor needed to run those features, but a $150 Moto-G54 (200-50) will fix this problem.

  • Received the $1 JB Hi-Fi Trade-in eGift Card but didn't receive the $50 Coupon.
Do we just use the coupon shown from the OP to get $50 off at purchase time?
    Can someone please confirm.

    • If you read all comments it says you got it on email straight away

    • The $50 coupon is emailed separately 1 minute after you choose it as an option.
You get to choose for a few different discounts.

So you should get several emails:

      Trade in confirmation
      $1 e gift card
      Bonus selection email
      $50 coupon email

      All come within minutes.

      I've done this twice now

      • May I ask if you applied for these 2 coupons with the same JB account and ID please.

I got one coupon but then when I tried to get a second one, Strangely I got rejected with a message saying there was an existing process and need to do one at a time etc..

        • +1

Yes. You need to do one at a time. I did the first one last week

  • Ok i know $50 voucher works for nokia 110 and moto g54, but is there a list of all eligible phones?

    • +1

Works on any 4g or 5g phone

      • im not sure if it Works on any 4g or 5g phone. best to do a price match via live chat if its over $50. I did one for the opel lite 4g, telstra lite 4g and Telstra Prepaid T-Inspire 4G at kmart $79 and the voucher would not work last week online but worked for the opel. maybe in store it is different. maybe they have fixed the bug now as i can confirm it works with t he G54. i think the Telstra Prepaid T-Inspire 4G is the cheapest smart phone they have only $29 if you ask for price match with kmart and after using the $50 trade in code if it works?

  • After ID verification it says scan barcode with phone. Where is the barcode?

    • Never mind, process is screwy on the phone.

  • If the handset is not returned then they charge for the $50 voucher too right after 20 days?

    • No just the $1

  • has anybody traded in a icloud locked device? Raided my office electronics recycle box and the only device which could turn on was icloud locked

    • Don't actually need to send a device in

  • So what phone is everyone getting that’s worth while?

    • +1

G54 for $149 after trade is actually worth it compared to the eWaste models posted recently related to this deal.

      • That's only if you missed the perk before, if you do have that phone already not much point

  • I tried last week and able claimed nokia 110 using the HB hifi $50 voucher successfully
    — i sent the 3G phone last week via aus post

Today, I try to trade-in another 3GB phone to get another $50 voucher
    — i passed the verification and when i hit next, that is when i got the message that it has a pending application in progress
    — i tried using the same DL and passport, both failed as it says there is still a pending application in progress

Others who were able to to claim multiple $%0 voucher, do you know how long you waited to trade-in another phone to get $50?

  • Im not sure how the process is but do i need to pay to ship the phone to them?

    • +1

No, they will provide postage label. You will need to pack it and take it to aus post.

      • -1

Thank you. Its a legit question not sure why i got negged lol. I never sent a package via australia post so im not aware of it.

        • +1

nevermind there is too many neggers here . note if you dont take your own packaging you will have to pay for aust post packaging. you can print of the label via the email you receive or ask staff at aust to print of the label.

        • +1

          I did not Neg you
