Anything for HB, Zcer or Arienware

  • Anyone use this for DEX?

    • Yea very interested. Link to my S22 Ultra on a plane?

      • I've been trying on my one with no luck, but I think I might have the wrong USB C cable. Been using the Samsung one which came in the box. I think it needs USB 3.1
If anyone has succeeded, let me know

        • Confirm Dex worked for me

    Hi @clear
Great deal thanks for that. Wondering if there is a touchscreen option in these portable monitors? Thanks

I'm interested to know what set up people use these for. Does it increase productivity for work?

    • I have two portable monitors as MacBook Pro extension. They do improve the productivity

I have a similar 1080p OLED one that I use. It's for a desk space which moves or needs to be altered regularly without much fuss. Mine folds up with a magnetic carry case and is incredibly thin. It's for when you can't commit to a full size monitor but would like extra screen space. Or, I could see it working if you had a small desk space

    • They’re handy for video editing as a reference monitor, especially with 100% sRGB accuracy (although I suspect they are being creative with specs here).

  • One of the review says this doesn't have fit to screen keeping ratio option meaning anything not 15:10 will look stretched, can anyone confirm?

    • Depends on the connection. USB-C connection shall be fine. But the mini HDMI connection would not be able to get the correct ratio.

  • Great monitor. I use this as a secondary screen on my PC next to my Xiaomi 34" monitor.
Would recommend turning off HDR when you're not using it for HDR content, as the brightness is quite low with it on.

  • How is the quality of this for coding and such?
I'm tempted to sell my 12.9" ipad and replace with one of these. Portable monitor is basically the only thing I use it for, but the screen quality is pretty great for that

My curiosity to price threshold has finally been met. Thanks OP!

    • I like that metric haha you’ve convinced me to buy as well

      edit: … aaaand it’s gone

  • OOS but the one levijay linked is available at a slightly higher price

    • I think that's the touch version, which makes it a even better deal if that's what you are after.

      • It's not the touchscreen version unfortunately.

        Touch:without

Model 14T-2K is touch. 14A-2K is non touch.

        • Yes I’m aware of the difference. I purchased this morning. Model number PM14T-2k, $82.41.

          • @lansi23: My apologies - I was on mobile and must have been looking at the wrong link.

You are absolutely correct - and like you say, an excellent deal for the touch version! In fact, I just bought one. Thanks!

            • @Prong: All good. Enjoy your purchase. Just need it delivered like tomorrow. lol

          • @lansi23: Not sure why you got negged. Was that $82 in USD or AUD?

            • @kampret: levijay's linked product is $84.23 AU incl. tax if you apply the coupon from this deal. Last one, I removed from cart after testing, I just don't have a use-case

            • @kampret: For reference mine was USD$52.77. (including coupon discount)

I did buy a few other things so my coupon was the next discount level up.

            • @kampret: no idea, anyway it is AUD.

  • Has anyone seen any bigger screen i.e. 24 or 27 inches that can be powered and connected by 1 single USB type C cable?

I live in a small townhouse and space is limited. When my wife and I WFH on the same day, I would like to setup an ad-hoc workspace on the kitchen table. Want to minimize all the cable mess so a big screen with 1 cable is ideal

    • This isn't viable for a day of WFH - your laptop battery won't be able to power the laptop and the screen for a whole day.

If you just grab a USB C monitor like the Dell https://www.dell.com/en-au/shop/dell-27-usb-c-monitor-s2722d… then it's a single USB C connection that will also charge your laptop. But you need to plug the monitor in to mains power for a grand total of 2 cables.

Have you considered just using your TV as the second WFH monitor ?

      • My tv is in an award position. I would like a portable screen rather than the traditional monitors so I can fold and store easily. Again space is an issue

  • Featuring a 14" IPS display with 2160x1440 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 15:10 aspect ratio

Uhm, how on earth does 15:10 ratio work? Is this not a standard 16:9 QHD resolution?

    • -1

It's what you call a typo.

    • 16:9 for a 1440P screen is 2560 x 1440.

      2160 x 1440 is 15:10 (also often called 3:2). It's basically in-between 16:10 and 4:3.

The monitor definitely is 2160 x 1440 (I have one). It seems to be a popular resolution for cheaper laptops in China, so presumably there is a factory that churns these out in high volume - thus the low price.
