  • Really tempted, but already have another portable monitor from one the usual random brands.

How easy are these to be sold as second hand portable monitors? Thinking about selling the old one and using this one instead as it comes with a protective cover

    • +1

But this is ZSUS .. c'mon

  • +1

I'm just trying to figure out the specific use case where someone would want their 2nd monitor, which is portable, to have 144Hz…

    • +5

      Nintendo Switch on the go.

      • +1

Okay you got me there, that's actually pretty cool. I don't have a Switch but am imagining my PSP days and how cool it would be to suddenly play those games on a 15.6" monitor on the go.

      • +2

It barely hits 30fps, don't really need 144Hz for that.

      • do you mean just a bigger screen than on the switch itself?

    • It might be great for a arcade machine (retroarch has freesync support and black frame insertion for high hz monitors)

    • I was just overseas for two months and brought my legion go. This would have been a nice addition.

    • There are some people who buy laptops like the gigabyte aero 16 for work/gaming uses but it comes with an rtx 4060 paired with a 4k 60hz OLED panel. For those people, more beneficial to game on a second display that runs 1080p144 if they want to play a competitive game.

  • Does anyone know any cheap 1440p 144hz *portable monitors from Ali? :)

    • Yo I just had this thought… why did Jack Ma, a Chinese man, call his company Ali Express… that’s a very Arabic name

      • I think it was due to Ali baba, a thief from a tale. He had a cave full of treasures

        • Oh it was Ali Baba that’s right. So Jack was inspired by a master thief lmao

          • +1

@TwentyTwoCarats: It's a pretty interesting story. From wiki:
The company's name came from the character Ali Baba from the Middle Eastern folk-tale collection One Thousand and One Nights because of its universal appeal.[17] As Jack Ma, one of the founders, replied to Lorraine Hahn on TalkAsia:
One day I was in San Francisco in a coffee shop, and I was thinking Alibaba is a good name. And then a waitress came, and I said do you know about Alibaba? And she said yes. I said what do you know about Alibaba, and she said 'Open Sesame.' And I said yes, this is the name! Then I went onto the street and found 30 people and asked them, 'Do you know Alibaba'? People from India, people from Germany, people from Tokyo and China… They all knew about Alibaba. Alibaba — open sesame. Alibaba — 40 thieves. Alibaba is not a thief. Alibaba is a kind, smart business person, and he helped the village. So…easy to spell, and global know. Alibaba opens sesame for small- to medium-sized companies. We also registered the name AliMama, in case someone wants to marry us![18]

@u u: Right, that's pretty interesting. Taking it to the streets and asking 30 people if they know Alibaba is crazy

      • -1

        Bruh xD

  • +1

Can anyone recommend one that has touch?

    • Yeh, touchscreen is better for an additional screen.

Why bother with this one all without touch.

^— Search has come up with the following … Same brand .. slightly lower brightness … 60hz instead of 144hz ..

but it has touch for approx $11-15 more depending on exchange

      ;)

Anything for HB, Zcer or Arienware

Anyone care to share their experience with Biwamen? I don't need 144Hz as my use cases are productivity and photos. This seems cheaper @ $80 with 60Hz instead, same sRGB but higher 400 Nits
    https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006782848609.html

    • Same question, what's the cheaper alternative one for 60Hz with the same quality?

    • +1

They all seem to be pretty much the same. Be mindful that the one you liked doesn´t have a cover, while the one from OP has a cover/case to protect it while transporting it on a backpack. If you are only using it around the house, then it should be fine, but if you are gong to be carrying to many places, a cover might be very useful.

  • Does anyone know if this monitor can draw power throught the USB type C connection with the laptop or I need to plug it into a power adaptor?

    • They can draw power from the USB C port

  • Any suggestiona for a good protective case that fits this, possibly that doubles up as a stand too? My googlefu hasn't been very fruitful in this regards. Broke the screen on the last one I had while taking it out of the bag. Without a proper case, these screens are extremely fragile.

    • I think this one already comes with a case

  • Has anyone seen any bigger screen i.e. 24 or 27 inches that can be powered and connected by 1 single USB type C cable?

I live in a small townhouse and space is limited. When my wife and I WFH on the same day, I would like to setup an ad-hoc workspace on the kitchen table. Want to minimize all the cable mess so a big screen with 1 cable is ideal

    • +1

Don't think I've seen portable monitors go above 16 to 18 inches, maybe @Clear could help?

    • +1

Pretty much what anonym said. They do exist with the big brands, i.e. ASUS but you'll struggle to find anything on AliExpress. 18.5" definitely can be had on Ali.

  • Does anybody know if these can be used as a smart wall calendars/ planner something like Dakboard

      This is a monitor.

The computer that you'll need to plug in to it, can do anything you like…

  • I bought a ZSUS monitor from one of the last deal son here and it's pretty slick but it did not have VESA mounting holes. I didn't really check the listing and just assumed it would, but wasn't a dealbreaker. I am not sure if this model has them or not (the listing doesn't say) but if you intend to mount it on something, be aware that some models definitely do not have the necessary holes.

    • You'll have to get those tablet desk clamps off AliExpress to mount this instead.

  • Mine arrived today, happy with it. Looks nice, colours are good, decent viewing angles, runs off USB power, 144hz no worries.
Just got to work out how to change the menu language.

    • +1

In case you're still working out how to change the language, here's the language option in the menu.

    • Mine arrived but how to use that stand, not able to figure it out

      • Haha, you're not the only one. No idea how am I going to make it work.

        • Yes it worked for me. They should have put some. Photo

      • I just had a look at the AliExpress listing and figured out from one of the photos uploaded by buyer.

  • Monitor construction is decent and works straight away. No VESA mounting, the included magnetic case is good. For the price, I'd recommend it.

    • Just wished the foldable case could work decently when wanted to use the monitor vertically. Rest no complaints for the price.

  • Mine arrived recently - great packaging and seems a good build quality, but I can't get the monitor to work. I'm powering it using the USB-A to USB-C cable, and then using USB-C to USB-C on the other USB-C port (I also tried with a different USB-C cable); I've tried with a laptop, a tablet, and a phone, and it keeps saying 'no signal'. Any advice?

    • Make sure you are using a quality usb c cable that supports data transfer

    • Do all of those devices support video out via USB-C?

    • Not all USB C cables are able to transfer video output/display data and not all USB C ports support DP alt mode.

Use the USB cables supplied inside the monitor packaging and make sure your laptop/tablet/phone supports USB C DisplayPort (a.k.a. DP alt mode). If not, you have to rely on the supplied HDMI to mini HDMI cable.

      • Just wondering if anyone has link for quality USB C cables that able to transfer video/display data? I think my cables has a bit of an issue. It works until yesterday but suddenly is no longer working.

        • For display I just use a cheapo Thunderbolt 4 cable that is also compatible with USB 4.

You can get them for less than $20 on either Amazon AU or even cheaper on AliExpress. Just check the review count (the higher the better, obviously) and make sure the majority are favorable.

This is the one I bought. There's currently a prime day discount that brings it down to $16.67.

    • The included USB C cable worked instantly for me. Also, your laptop must have DP Alt Mode USB C port. Otherwise, you'd need to plug separate power to your monitor.

  • Just arrived today, so far looks good. I wonder if I need to install the screen protector or not? Is it necessary?
