There is a new temporary discount (10% Techfest Samsung Pay discount exp 16/4) to stack with existing discounts to get this monitor down to a pretty attractive price.

I havent gone through the process (I don't have a Samsung phone/tablet) and I dont know how the Samsung store applies stacked discounts - so for the purposes of this I'm going to assume each % discount is calculated from the llisted price (currently $1699)

This also assumes that the Samsung loyalty vouchers are still readily available https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/753590

Credit to indecisive1 for previous deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/878596

  • Chat with Samsung's Live Chat and request a 10% off monitor loyalty voucher, you may need a screenshot of Samsung product serial number
  • Trade in your old monitor for $100 off
  • Pay with Samsung Pay for 10% off

i did look at this once but I prefer real 5k resolution monitors because these are effectively 2 QHD monitor stuck together. with out the borders.

Good luck finding a super ultrawide 5K OLED monitor for anything close to this price from a reasonable brand.

      • I wouldn't be looking for an ultra wide it would be standard monitor with 5k resolution but i highly doubt they will ever sell a ultrawide with a full 10K resolution (dual monitors at 5k res) for the market. most peopel that want 5k buy dual normal 5k monitors its a small market though because video editors are a small market.

Absolutely completely different monitors, unsure why you felt the need to comment on this post about it

            @MEGASERVE: unsure if you know:

            forum /ˈfôrəm/ noun
            1. a place, meeting, or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.
"it will be a forum for consumers to exchange their views on medical research"

@jinkerjinx: Except this isn't the Ozbargain forum

Personally I think some of the Urban Dictionary definitions are more accurate

            • @jinkerjinx: As dav3 said, this isnt the forum

              • @MEGASERVE: sharing your ideas and views here means it is a forum (regardless of whether it's 'the forum'). Kungfuman shared info that may be valued by someone looking for a monitor.. more valuable than your derisive response imo

For anyone running 2x 27" screens, this is the endgame monitor for you.

Have been running it for a year now and no regrets. I have it set up with a virtual 16:9 display in the center and two portrait halfs each side.

    • This is exactly what I'm looking to move from, is the curve prominent? how deep is your desk, worried my desk is not deep enough for such a large screen

      • +1

running this monitor right now. the curve isnt bad, I have a corner desk this in the middle and 2 x 34" either side curve works perfectly in the middle. sitting about half a meter to a meter back you will be able to see either edge easily.

      • The curve works for me, about the same as I had my two separate monitors

  • Net Dimension without Stand (WxHxD)

    1194.7 x 365 x 180.8 mm

365mm height not quite enough, I prefer LG 45" but more expensive.

    Dimension without Stand (W x H x D) [mm]

    992.7 x 457 x 218

  • This or LG C4 42" OLED?

    • This is the conundrum I'm in atm as well… I need mine for work first (splitting into at least 2 windows) and gaming second.

Saw a video of people splitting windows on C4 to 2 and even 4 and it looked real nice.

Ugh someone decide for me :P

Ugh someone decide for me :P

        Buy both

        • Haha. If you're paying, sure :)

      • +1

Windows splitting software has come along way, inbuilt in Windows 11 or with powertoys on Windows 10, works a treat no real issue on the 42C

I still feel the 49" is more immersive for gaming (with the width and curve) but gaming still great on the LG too.

One consideration would be if you want to have side monitors. 24" verticals align spot on with the 42C, side monitors with the ultrawides + curves don't fit in as nicely imo.

It would be awesome if it was 1000r

FYI I did the same steps listed and got $1295.19, so may want to update title.

    • Yeah Samsung math is minus trade in first then 10% at a time instead of the way op calculated it
