What do you mean by this?
"Probably better specs and lower price
    Coupon applied at checkout"

    • Think OP means when you add it to cart it swaps it out for a better and cheaper one 😊

Sorry just woke up, not fully awake yet
I think it has better specs than the previous deals. $100 coupon is applied at checkout.

    • It has a 1TB drive, rather than the usual 512GB as often posted, you need to click on the $100 off coupon (on the site) to get that price, and that price is lower than this product is typically priced.

  • There maybe better deals on n100 from Aliexpress Choice day? I couldn't find any.
    Maybe @clear can help please.

  • Bought from the previous deal, the build quality of this Kamrui is very average, not as good/premium as Intel NUCs. The item itself is about 15% bulkier than NUCs as well.

Reminder to anyone purchasing one - do a fresh install of Windows.

    • First get the windows key linked to a Microsoft account. That way fresh install should pick it up.

Or nuke it and install proxmox. N100 is probably better overall for that.

Computing is becoming so cheap. Wouldn't mind an upgrade, but I was surprised to see no USB-C.

Still rolling an Optiplex 7040 7th gen Intel here.

    • My thoughts exactly - could have at least given you 1 x USB-C port.

      • +2

cost is the reason why, theres a handful of n95/n100 with usb-c for $220-250(the more expensive with usb-c power too)

    • +1

With your otciplex, these n100s won't be much of an upgrade.

      • N95/N100 uses less power, smaller footprint, less upgrade options. Horses for courses

        • Sure, but you'll need to use it for years before you'll recoup the cost of buying the computer. No need to throw a perfectly fine 7th gen CPU away for 50w difference.

  • Old age question this or the N100?

Only being used in meeting rooms with feed to touch screen TV.

    • You probably won't need a 1TB SSD in a meeting room box. That said, this is already a very good price so I doubt you can get an N100 setup for much cheaper. N95 is already capable of 4k@60Hz so I doubt you'd get much improvement from an N100 anyway for simple PowerPoint stuff.

For easier setup I'd go for a mini PC with USB C video out so you can get display and touch screen functionality with a single cable, otherwise you'd need a cable for display and a second USB cable for touch. It also depends on whether your touch screen supports USB C.

      • Ended up getting the N100 for $159

KAMRUI AK2 Plus Mini PC, Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake- N100(up to 3.4GHz) Mini Desktop Computer, 16GB DDR4 RAM 512GB SSD Mini Computer Windows 11,Support 4K HD/WiFi 5/BT4.2 for Business Home Office

Has a voucher of $100 too on it right now too. Didn't need the 1TB, only needs to just run.

All cables are there so will swap it straight over.

        • N100 for $20 bucks less is an absolute steal. I'm tempted to get one myself.

  • How tf is this so cheap? The RAM and SSD alone are worth about this

    • Loaded with malware

      • And probably zero future BIOS updates…

  • Is this laptop ram? Considering whether I'd buy this to complete the Intel nuc laptop that was posted a few days ago…

  • $279 now?

this be good to run a DIY NAS?

    • -1

If your home network is gigabit Ethernet, then it is fine. Intel did cripple N95 / N100 with PCIe lanes. I think most of these have PCIe gen 3 x2 (some might even have PCIe gen 3 x1) m.2 / NVMe slot. However, for gigabit Ethernet based LAN/NAS, that is fine.

1TB zero redundancy NAS sounds a bit limiting.

      • The 1TB zero redundancy is the boot drive only.

Your actual storage drives go into a https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005633479746.html or similar.

        • That cost more than the compute box in the deal. And then you're using a 1TB SSD as a NAS boot drive, so 98% of the SSD and 75% of the RAM is wasted…

I mean, you could shoehorn this into NAS duties and also use it to run other virtual machines, but it's a bit of a counterintuitive choice.

          (The enclosure looks neat though)

  • Showing $279 at checkout. How do the coupon be applied?

  • Still using Bluetooth 4.2 in 2024! 🙄

  • Win 11 Home loaded

  • Just got it and plugged it in. Processer is showing as Intel(R) N95, 1700 Mhz, 4 core(s), 4 Logical Cores
    Does this sound right?
    Advertised as Processor ‎3.4 GHz
    Nevermind….
Appears to be capable of 'burst' speeds of 3.4GHz

    • What version of Windows did you get? (Home or Pro)

  • Yes, it is home - not as advertised.
