I wouldn't use these even if they were free.

And I know that, because they gave me some for free, and I don't use them.

  • I didn't receive it complimentary and this wouldn't be either.

My q-tag did not stop them from leaving my bag behind in Sydney. It travelled all the way to Sydney from Zimbabwe with old school tags no problem. Sydney to Melbourne with the Q-tag.. left behind.

These are completely useless, especially when traveling in regional Australia where there aren't as many gold/platinum members flying. I flew from Darwin to Alice Springs two months ago and Qantas lost my bags - they blamed it on the baggage handlers and their inability to correctly read the Qtag scan! Apparently the screen on the Qtag scanner is too small. Better off with the old fashioned paper tag in my opinion.

  • I always laugh at the muppets who put them on their laptop bags.. they're only for checked baggage idiots! Definately people of Conspicuous consumption!

I sometimes have one hanging off my laptop bag as i may only be taking luggage "one way" so to speak, so i attach one. Also i'm a fairly young guy (QFF Gold) who often travels in shorts and tshirts, it avoids the questions in the qantas club to see your ticket…

    • Maybe they have it on their laptop bag in case they forget it somewhere in the airport? Then it can be more easily returned to them/they can prove it's theirs.

"Designed by world-renowned Australian designer Marc Newson"

Wow, we must really behind the rest of the world if our world-renowned designer cut and paste the Qantas logo onto a stop watch.

Surely nobody would even contemplate paying out cash for these?

  • i have been given two sets complimentary - silver and gold versions… still dont use them though
