      Their cheaper ones look identical to many on Amazon from generic brands. Better off buying some off Marketplace from ex-workplace setups.

      I would avoid Prism if possible, the arm I bought specifications says it would support up to 9kg monitor, mine was only 7kg and it was tilting/dipping forward

    If you need a monitor arm for a usual type of setup, then go for these and save yourself money:
    NB F80 for 2-9KG

    HEYMIX for bigger screens

        Depends on your model. Heymix works for the Kogan 40inch 5k screen.

        Samsung 49inch screens seem around 12-13KG without their stand so should also work, otherwise use Amazon's return process.

          From using an ultrawide monitor for a few years, weight isnt the only factor that affects whether the arm can support.
          Youre better off using mounts that are specifically rated for the screen size

          The main issue if the pivot point for curved ultrawide monitors. It shifts the centre of gravity further away from the hinge or those need to be reinforced. Main reason why Ergotron introduced the HX+HD Pivot was sagging curved ultrawides.

      I have both the North Bayou F80 and an Ergotron LX for my two monitors.
      F80 is holding an HP z25n in Portrait and the LX is holding a Dell G3223q.

      They are both relatively good, I'd say the real points of difference for me are:

      • The LX is less wobbly if you were to nudge a monitor, or you have a standing desk that's prone to transfer wobble to the monitor
      • LX has a larger reach if you have a deep desk (this might also be what helps with the wobble as my LX isn't even close to full extension compared to the F80)
      • LX also has a nicer finish.

      Would I pay 4 times as much for the LX over the F80? No. I originally paid $77 for my F80 and $110 for my LX, with those price points I would go the LX every day of the week.

        This is pretty much my assessment too, the LX holds firmer, moves more smoothly & more controlled, and looks better. I had both, used them both for two years during Covid WFH, and have since given away the F80 and kept the LX.

    As someone who was silly enough to buy a 49" monitor without many options available 2 years ago.
    These have been pretty amazing.
    The build quality is the best I have seen.
    The only downside to these products are the cable management.
    I ended up using velcro strips to keep the cables in place.

    If only I held on for 2 years, I would have been able to get this at discount.

      I've read an Ergotron rep confirming they're the OEM, but that internal mechanisms are of a lower standard hence the lower price point/shorter warranty. Still should be pretty good quality at its price point!

    well the white LX actually on the top of the list and pictured on the right. but I can't find it in the results?
    can only see the black.

    don't know about the HX it looks stylish but I don't think it has as much height adjustment and looks less strong in general without the pole.

    LX is a great arm can recommend it. just one tip there is a tiny screw on the part that hugs the pole. dont overtighten this screw be as gentle as possible (stop turning as soon as it hits the pole). it a small screw so digs it's way into the paint on the pole and you will damage a tiny area of paint on the pole.

    the paint helps prevents moisture and rust so I wish I new this when setting it up. don't have any rust or anything but it feels solid enough to last 20+ years so I don't know about in 20 years time.

      Ive got the HX and almost had to return it because of the lack of height adjustment. my monitor is a 45" AOC with really high VESA mounts on the back so I've actually had to entirely flip the display just so that it clears table. Now its actually got a great amount of clearance (about 20cm) but yeah a legit worthy consideration

        from the HX picture you can see bracket before you attach any arm is at basically desk height.

        the LX adds its entire height of the pole to the bracket, so you can stick the arm on at the top of the pole if you want.
        had a look at mine it’s not like the pole is extremely tall so I think you will still be limited with huge screens.

        if anyone is considering with large screen then I think Ergotron has recommended screen sizes in their arm info somewhere.

        Contrary to what the ergotron Australian customer support will tell you, you can buy just the pole. They will create the invoice with an Australian supplier of your choice and send it over. I had the height issues with mine too but didn’t want to return everything. Ordered the tall pole and now stack 2x 32inch monitors on it.

          you are replying to stegy? because I don't think the HX arm will fit on the LX pole. it's a completely different design.

          if you are replying to me that's useful to know. so if I have any issues with the pole or need more height adjustment I can order just the taller pole for LX.

          I know noticed there are "tall pole" and "sit stand" LX models that come with the taller pole for a bit extra $. so you can just buy one of those if using super large screen or think you will need more height.
          I have the standard LX that's probably why I am running into the height limits with standing desk and 32 inch monitor. I got it on as high as it will go and top of the monitor is as tall as my eyes, which is just right apparently but can't push it any further up (which is fine).

    Has anyone has experience with these monitor arms and a LG 42’ or UW monitor?

    Specially, I’m looking for something where the arm is long enough where the monitor itself can stretch far enough and be placed behind the desk clamp.

    All monitor arms I’ve tested so far (Amazon) don’t seem long enough to cover the width of a 42, the corner of the screen ends up touching the desk clamp, meaning the monitor itself can’t be placed behind desk clamp/ be further back.

      I have a 38" alienware ultrawide that is mounted on the side of my desk with an Ergotron LX HD sit-stand arm. I believe this may be one of the larger ones ergotron offer. If I fully extend the arm towards the middle of my desk with the monitor parrallel to the long edge, I can maybe push it back approx 5-6 cm behind the centre of the pole/mount, measured from the monitor edge, while maintaining the monitor parallel to the front of the desk where I am sitting. Keep in mind the monitor is curved, so the back of it is further back than this.
