    Yeah, nah….

It’s not as good as the ShopBack’s promo yesterday but ShopBack has some issues with tracking recently

      • +1

So ive heard. I haven't seen many good shopback deals lately and are using cashrewards a bit more, and tracking works better and faster

      • +2

ShopBack has been rejecting many cashbacks for many people lately. People have stopped using them until they sort their sh*t out.
        So CR is the king.

        • +5

id say both are rubbish atm.

        • +12

That's Shopback's MO: throw out some BS reason to decline the cashback and hope for the best that a claim isn't raised or escalated. If a claim isn't made, happy days for them - double commission.

Their whole operation is shady AF and they'll delay approving some claims for as long as they can through obfuscation and lies. Standard cashbacks generally go through ok. But the upsized cashback promos they put out are almost always guaranteed to be rejected, forcing you to raise a claim and fight tooth and nail to get it approved (even when you provide screenshots of the end to end transaction).

          Dodgy motos.

        • +1

This. CR is so much better. I'm done with Shopback - they don't track 75% of the time and then blame the user.

      • +1

I bought a gift card on ShopBack 48 hours ago and it’s still pending 🙄

        • GCs are non-refundable, but they still put delay locks on cashback confirmation. Even if you 100% pay using accrued cashback.

      • I just lost all my rewards in ShopBack because they haven't reached the minumum $10 for withdrawal and they just expired. Will never use ShopBack again

        • @aximili Sorry to hear. Never knew there is an expiry for any of these rewards. Don't remember seeing an expiry

  • +1

    thanks!

  • T&Cs didn’t say it excludes gift cards, just saying…

    • +4

Ya… But there is no real bargain even after 6.67% cashback.
And there is no Coles no Woolworths.

      • $3 + $10 bonus = ~8% assuming the cashback is instant (not) or approved soon. Still a risk being rejected as of buying a GC tho.

        • +1

Check the comments further down for some inspiration :)

  • +2

This doesn’t seem good like the old CR offers.

    • -1

This is a good offer since you can get gift cards :)
      Aka Amazon gift cards

      • Have you tried with Amazon GC? Tracked?

        • +3

Little birdie has informed me that it includes everything except for in store purchases

  • I'm thinking of using this with boost. If buying an esim can we defer the activation date?

    • don't think so? I haveonlyused esim at work (vodafone), and they have sent me a QR code which i scan to enable the esim. Maybe with boost will be similar, so you cna delay activation by scanning the QR code later? Or, just get the SIM, activate when needed, and then convert to esim

  • +1

    Thanks OP

  • I've been unable to make any purchases with the cash rewards portal. It always says verify account and fails to verify when i press the button. Been using cashrewards for years but never been able to get this newer gift card portal to work

  • Shame we can't pay with Vanilla Visa cards, "The card is not supported, please enter a new card" when I try to add the card. Used to be able to pay for gift cards with them on CR. Also tested a Coles prepaid mastercard, same result.

    • +8

That is because of Cashrewards changing their gift card provider from True Rewards to EonX last year.

True Rewards said they did not accept prepaid gift cards, but they only actually blocked prepaid Visa gift cards (which is the reason that prepaid Mastercard gift cards still worked).

EonX chooses to block all prepaid cards as payment methods on their platform (even reloadable prepaid cards, such as the Qantas Travel Money card). I also ran into this issue with the old Suncorp Rewards / AAMI Lucky Club gift card portal (which was also operated by EonX).

      • Yeah I figured it was some change regarding True Rewards. At least can still add and use them on ShopBack (after the cards can actually be added successfully). I'm also still able to use them to buy gift cards via HCF Thank You rewards.

      • Yep, can't use crypto.com card as well as it's treated as prepaid cards.
        Lame move cashrewards

bought $150 amazon GC, and tracked.

let us see how $10 bonus goes.

    • +4

Did you receive the code already? Mine's showing up as upto 72 hrs

      • +1

        Yup, received mine already

      • +2

I got the Amazon GC code immediately, and the $3 and $10 cashback amounts are Pending in my account.

        • How do you get the $3?

          • +1

@33725: It would've been from normal cashback (2%).

      • +1

Hey @iDrownFish mine also shows up to 72 hrs. Have you got your one now?

    • 10 / 150 = 6.6667% discount

      • +1

        Plus 2% ($3) CB.

        • +1

          So, 8.6667% off a $150 gift card,
          resulting in $13 off :-)

What a pain setting up a credit card payment method

No amex, which is fine but no indication of this until you typed in all the card details and try to submit.

Verify card using small amount charged between $0.01 to $1.23

    8 digit OTP request

Enter card CVV one more time

What is this? A mortgage application? Getting cashback shouldn't be this difficult.

Anyway tracked all fine. Just a tedious experience.

    • +3

It's designed to mitigate fraudulent credit card use, but in [current year] where all debit/credit cards support 3D Secure, it's really not necessary to do the "charge a random amount" crap ..

I remember when Steam used to do this back when they only dealt with USD, was a real pain in the ass to guess the exchange rate used by the bank when Steam charged in USD lol

    • How do you trigger the stupid card verification. I've been trying for months

      • I accidentally removed the card I had previously verified and now I can't add it again. Keeps failing verification.. so frustrating. "Payment transaction failed. Please contact support or try again." Ugh.

EDIT: I was able to thankfully add a completely different card, but alas not one I can earn points on. Oh well! I can only suggest using a different card/browser if you're having issues.

      • +1

Look for a small debit in your account which says "verification auth" or similar. May appear as a pending payment/authorisation depending on your bank. Once you verify the amount/pending transaction will disappear as if it didn't exist.

  • any way of purchasing ebay gift cards? Can't find any on ebay

    • +3

Nope, discounted eBay gift cards are pretty much exclusive to rewards programs now unfortunately - ctrl-f ebay. They were even taken off the TCN Gift gift card a while back.

Best hope now would be more Prezzee bonus deals, as they can still be converted to eBay.

    • +3

miss the 10% ebay gift cards back in the days now only 1.75% from shopback

    • +2

Topcashback is 5% on eBay giftcards via giftz website.

      • I am on Giftz section and its not there

        • You need to go to TopCashback AU whilst logged in, then access the Giftz website. The cashback will be eventually paid out to your TopCashback AU account.

Have a look at the recent OzBargain deal for more information.

          • @WookieMonster: Thank you. There is an update now :
            8azinga on 19/05/2024 - 16:29
Giftz doesnt show up on TCB anymore. It does link if you click from this deal but dont think they give cashback anymore.

I just went to Giftz site and there is no mention of cashback for ebay GC so likely was a promo and now finished? Thanks anyway.

            • @eddieboy2: It was a promotion only advertised on the TopCashback AU website, as it was exclusive to Giftz. There was no suggestion on the TopCashback AU website that the cashback offer was time-limited, so I wonder whether TopCashback AU or Giftz decided to end this partnership…

You can purchase a Your Pick gift card at 3% off through the Everyday Rewards app and you can also stack that offer with the current bonus points deal on Your Pick and other Woolworths Group gift cards. The Your Pick gift card can currently be swapped for an eBay gift card.

      • Cashrewards doesn't do Woolies otherwise these would have stacked with Cashrewards.

    • Using woolworths rewards app, your could buy some card called 'you pick' to switch to ebay

  • +1

How long does it take for gift card to get issued?
Bought Amazon gift card over an hour ago and it's still pending

    • same here

      • Same

    • check your emails, mine came through pretty quickly and have already loaded it to my amazon account.

      • Me too.

    • Finally came at 1:35.
      Took about 2.5 hours.

      • +1

bought almost 1.5hrs ago still havent gotten anything

        • +4

now 4 hours for me, still waiting

          • +2

@kayesskay: same here. waiting for more than 6 hours now

            • @bond008: Same…..

It’s the same portal as BUPA rewards. They always come instantly for me….. nothing from CR so far….

            • +1

              @bond008: Nothing still…

      • +1

        8 hrs. Still waiting

        • I've waited more than 10 hours. I guess their fraud team is on short of staff

          • @bond008: how do we raise a ticket or do we have to wait at least 72 hours?

            • @cheap4321: I will wait until Friday in this case and ask for a refund. I do not expect it comes at this stage

        • Finally arrived!

    • Mine was instant, done about 10 mins ago.

  • +1

Unfortunately Coles prepaid Mastercard doesn't work with their GC platform.

  • +3

    the selection is pretty shit

    • You are not wrong.

  • Why can't I pay with my rewards balance?

  • +2

Amazon GC at ~8.67% cashback seems to be the way to go, any other suggestions? I see no eBay, JB Hi-Fi is 2.5%.

    • -1

Yep, pretty dismal but the best around according to the GC wiki.

  • +13

Update - my Amazon gift card purchase has been approved along with the $10 bonus

    • +1

Ditto. Both 2% CB and $10 bonus showed pending yesterday but approved today when I checked.

  • +1

    Good stuff, thanks for sharing!

  • +2

Are people buying Amazon Gift cards via CR site or actually going into Amazon and buying the gift card in there?

    • +3

Buying them via Cashrewards gift card portal

      • +1

Thank you, just bought a $150 Amazon.com.au GC via CR portal and it arrived within a couple mins!

  • can you get ebay?

    • +1

      No.

You used to be able to get an eBay gift card on the Cashrewards gift card portal through the Celebration Swap gift card, but eBay withdrew from the Celebration Swap gift card a number of weeks ago.

      • +1

ah thanks no deal for me then

  • I made a 75 shop on another store, can I do another GC purchase to qualify for this promo?

Too bad, it says 1 transaction lol

  • +1

my amazon gift card is still pending delivery (says can take upto 72 hours)..it's almost 24 hours now, should I wait or contact cashrewards support?

    • +1

      same here

    • mine arrived just now

      • +1

mine arrived as well mid-day today, so maybe took about 24+ hours…strange, SB gives it instantly

  • Bought 3x $50 Amazon GCs, tracking and GCs arrived within minutes and the bonus and cashback were confirmed about ~2.5hrs later.

  • Can anyone advise if Cashrewards still does cashback for Ebay. Its listed on their site and i made a purchase the other night under this promo but it has yet to track. Im concerned by wording in the T&C's about new and returning customers only but i dont see it noted anywhere else. Can anyone elaborate what conditions Ebay imposes on Cashrewards transactions?

    • Mine didn’t track either. Made a claim and they rejected it due to use of a code, even though CR had it listed as a code I could use for Plus weekend 🙄. Useless. They’re really going downhill lately.

  • bought $150 worth of Giftcard. tracked within a few hours. Both GC cashback and $10 bonus approved within a day. Already withdrew it all out. Nice, so much faster than Shopback.
