Spotted at my local WW under clearance. Good price for both, I bought io3 for $62 at Coles few months ago and this is even cheaper!

  • They had the same clearance of toothbrush heads at my local Woollies on Wednesday but only 3 left after I grabbed one

  • Taking a look at the OralB website it looks like the io3 tooth brush requires a special flare mount brush head that does not fit other Oral B tooth brushes.

In which case you might be locking yourself into buying hard to find and much more expensive brush heads down the track.

    Iam I correct?

    • That is correct. The Oral-B iO Series uses a different charger and toothbrush head to the rest of the Oral-B electric toothbrush range.

      • And they are way more expensive too!

    • Any real benefit to these over the original design? Don't really want to have to invest in new toothbrush heads.

Yes, better margins and better profits for Oral B

      • It uses a magnetic motor of sorts to deliver vibrations as well as rotations. Quieter than the mechanical sounds of older models.

It is much stronger, especially with the ultimate clean brush head. Almost too strong. It actually damages my gums even on the sensitive mode.

Haven't tried it with the gentle clean brush head + sensitive mode. That might tone it down enough to be manageable.

If your current brush still works fine and you have lots of spare heads, I'd keep using it for now. Perhaps in the future, the newer kind will further reduce in price.

Replacement brush heads are extremely expensive. I mean $8-15 per head. Fine if you're middle class, not so much for everyone else.

Do not buy iO3, they use a different more expensive brush head

    • Reviews seem to suggest they clean better?

  • Are the brush heads actually a good deal or has there been better value in the past?
