I was looking for a tablet and thought this looked good for the price.
After using the code from here ( OUTDOOR30 ) I was able to reduce the price by $47 so the 8/256GB version comes to $434.60 shipped inc taxes. Not sure if it's a genuine sale but the 59% off sale ends April 20.

I think Clear has posted it before here but not sure if it's the same version:

I have been using one of these since they came out and best tablet ever. Highly recommend and a great price

It looks like it has the original firmware which is good.

  • Does this have Google Play or do you have to mess with the ROM?

Go into Settings to enable Google Services and Google Play will work after that.

  • Is this Android 13 out of the box? Reckon it has any chance of getting software updates? I haven't used an Android tablet since my Asus Transformerpad back in the day, was top end tablet at the time and only received 1 major android update which made the performance way worse. Have used iPads for tablets and Samsung S series phone since.

    • Lenovo isn’t well known for providing software updates, you may get 1

Thanks, I thought so. Pretty much the only 2 Android tablets you can rely on updates for are the higher end Samsungs and the Pixel tablet. That's why I haven't bought an android tablet in so long.

Base model iPads for $400-500 that get 4-5 years of software updates have great lifetime but really gotta pay a lot for more storage beyond 64GB

  • is it safe to access bank accounts with these chinese tablets?

    • It's probably safe but I set my tablet up mainly for media consumption with web browsing, streaming apps, YouTube, movies on sd card etc. I keep my banking apps only on my phone which can also receive 2fa via SMS.
