  • Non-curved 32" there for $351.20 after discount as well.

    • +1

      Added to the list.

    • anyone have this monitor? any good? looks fairly cheap for a decent 1440p gsync compatible IPS 32 monitor

  • Anyone know how the 27q compares with the old favourite S2721DGF?

Saw some comments on reddit saying the 27q has a bit of a panel lottery between LG or BOE - I think the S2721DGFs use the same panels as LG ones?

    • S2721DGF is no longer sold by Dell and G2724D is the replacement. See this for comparison: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/hp/omen-27q
Looks like the new Dell is slightly better and more expensive, the old one is about the same (looking at the rating only) but also more expensive.

  • Has anyone here used the HP 970 or 975 keyboards?
My Elitebook has perhaps the nicest keyboard I've ever used (apparently the scissor switches in the Dragonfly models are even nicer), and it'd be great if i could get a wireless keyboard that feels the same- but I feel I can't trust HP not to cheap out on the build quality of a peripheral like that.

    • +1

I can't compare with the Elitebook, however I've been using the HP975 for about 9 months. In terms of build quality, it is much heavier and feels more solid compared to my Apple Magic keyboard or Microsoft Surface keyboard.

The switches themselves are on the softer side compared to a Magic keyboard less "clack", slightly longer key travel - more comparable to a Surface keyboard.

Only downside is the ambient lighting mode, doesn't detect your hands fast enough, so you have to type in the dark for the first few keystrokes or wave your hand before you type. Other than that, I'm quite happy with it.

      • Thanks for the detailed description, I really appreciate it.
From your account it sounds like they might be using the same mechanism (and any difference in the key 'feel' might be arising from the switches being built into a standalone keyboard vs a laptop).

I think I might take a chance on ordering one then, despite the software issues. Thank you again.

If anyone else cares, Eyo currently has a pretty decent sale on the 975 at the moment ($69.21); only a couple units in stock, however if you contact HP Australia they'll arrange a price match with free delivery based on the below:

    • Last deal was $4000, missed it.

    • +4

I would rather have the Techfast build.
      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/840928

      Cheaper. Better cooling. Faster RAM.

5200MHz RAM on a high-end gaming machine is silly

      • Based on hardware specs, OMEN is the better workstation due to more RAM, 14900K (non F). RAM overclocking is ill-advised since it only introduces instability in workstations at DDR5.

Techfast has better value for gaming especially when you buy a cheap Windows key externally.

Bros from Melbourne. Make sense. Thanks for blocking the road the other day.

      • omg when did broden get out of the penalty box

    • +3

Might buy 2 monitors thanks for the info

    • It's okay to protest or boycott brands for any reason. But posting it here and expecting support is silly

      • -1

Tbh I didnt post it here thinking it'll nuke the deal.

I posted it genuinly for those that care and don't know.

    • +8

I'm sure terrorists drink coke and Pepsi aswell, add them to the boycott list?

      • +5

Of course not, there must be a good reason to add brands to the list and not do it willy nilly. Are they funding, supporting the murder of innocent people? Starving kids, indiscriminately murdering journalists, aid workers…

        • And america is still supplying arms , did you forget.

  • Are their Desktop PCs worth the price? Specifically looking at the Omen 25LTWR and Omen 40L PCs

    • +1

Only the 45L has good cooling with the specially designed 360mm AIO case. Avoid the 25L at all cost.

  • -6

    BOYCOTT HP

    • +1

      Why

        • +4

Israel has a non discriminating purchasing policy.
          They buy what is good.

    • +10

I just completed a warranty claim through them. My Omen gaming laptop bricked itself literally 2 weeks before the 2 year warranty period lol.

To my suprise they were actually pretty helpful - HP support was easy to contact. Everyone i spoke to had an indian accent so i imagine its all organised overseas. They organised the courier pickup and delivery back of the laptop. Everyones milage will obviously vary, but i will have no reason to boycot them.

This is OzBargain and not OzPolitics.

  • This code cannot be combined with the current discount, or maybe because the current discount is already over 1000 :(.
    For example:
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364705986124

    • I haven't tried adding it to cart, etc, but it literally has the code and details of the discount shown right there in the listing.

      • Tried to add to cart and used the code, it does say the code can't be applied for that product.

    • +1

Tried it, knocked the price down to 2495

      • where did you put the code in please? I added HPOFF20 in Checkout page, it keeps saying :

This code can't be applied to your order.

        • Hmmm in the app, add to cart, apply coupon HPOFF20

I guess try a different account?

  • This is a different model but is cheaper direct from HP?
    https://www.hp.com/au-en/shop/omen-by-hp-27-inch-fhd-165hz-g…

    • +3

      FHD (1080p) vs QHD (1440p)

    • That model is also on eBay and is cheaper with the discount.

  • Any HDMI 2.1 monitors?

  • Samsung 32 Inch Odyssey G51C or the HP ?

  • Dont forget the below:

    17" 4080 Laptop @ $2799: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364705986102
    i7 14th gen 4080 PC @ $2924.80: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364711494675
    i7 14th gen 4070 PC @ 1895.20: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364705670225

  • Monitor only got millions of colours?

  • +1

Nice just bought the 32C model, thanks for the heads up….

Incidentally, if anyone is interested in the Samsung 32" G5 for similar price to this @ $349 (for next 16hrs expires Midnight 17th April??)), head to Bing Lee https://www.binglee.com.au/products/odyssey-g5-g51c-32-qhd-1…

Not sure which is better the HP Omen 32" or Samsung 32" G5 but i commited to the HP Omen before i saw the Samsung for sale with Bing Lee…

  • Any thoughts on this? I don't need a gaming monitor as I'm mainly a WFH and a full-time web surfer with occasional movie viewing but given the current discount and the specs on it, I'm asking if it would suit my needs.
