  • How is the Dymatize Elite Gourmet Whey and Casein Blend different to the ISO-100, which I am currently using. (I'm new to all this)

    • The ISO-100 is a pure isolate, and has a higher Protein Percentage. It also has 0 carbs and 0 fats which make it a strong candidate for PWO protein. It also has less glutamine, BCAA's.

Where as the Blend is a blend of Ion-Exchange Whey Protein Concentrates, Whey Protein Isolates, and Whey Peptides, combined with Milk Protein rich in natural micellar caseins & caseinates plus added calcium caseinates. As well as glutamine and BCAA's and EAA's. Has a few carbs and fats also. Because of the blend it can really be taken at any time, however, because of the Caseins and the Glutamine this would be preferable as a before/after bed shake or PWO shake.

      • OK.. thanks for your reply.

I got a ISO-100 726 gms for $60, and thats apparently a discounted price by the gym.

Just wondering if getting the Gourmet ones would be any good, for about half price (~$30 shipped).

Since the WPI ISO-100 has a higher concentration of protein, i might just stick to it. I usually have it early afternoon, or late afternoon.

That is a ridiculous price to be paying for less than a KG of protein! I use ON 100% Whey Double Chocolate

It tastes great, and is extremely popular :)

        • Thanks..

It appears that Dymatize WPI is one of the dearest.
Will look into ON 100% Whey. Never used it.

          Is ON 100% Whey the equivalent of Dymatize ISO-100 ? Nutrition-wise ?

  • whats the cheapest way to get 5lb of ON protein? Any good US sites?

Buying 1kg isnt going to last long..

    • Try iherb for bulk buys they have great shipping rates. ON is a lot more expensive there, but they have other brands - EasternCulture can help you out. I like to rotate what protein I have :)

    • +1

5lb of ON is probably cheaper locally. I buy 5lb tubs for $85 from Burwood Discount Vitamins. It's on Burwood Rd on the opposite side of the station to the westfield (so the plaza side), about 500m down on the right side. It's a little red shop on the corner. This is it on google maps - http://goo.gl/maps/Qpqbg

If you buy a few tubs they'll give it to you a bit cheaper, just ask if they can do a discount. Their 10lb bags go for around $150 but they have limited flavors with those.

They say they will pricematch any other store but I am yet to take them up on that because they have pretty good prices anyway so if anyone knows of a cheaper store, let us know. :)

  • I am a total Vitacost addict, maybe I should start getting fit…..

  • will there be any probs getting these past customs?

    cheers

  • Nope. I've received 10+ orders from them' some boxes opened and checked others untouched. But they all got delivered.

    • Were they large orders or small? I'm thinking of buy a couple of tubs, around 5lbs all up

  • All small. Under 3 pounds. If you plan on getting 5 pounds might be cheaper to make 2 separate deliveries.
