  • Not sure why these monitors are simultaneously going for cheap all of a sudden 🤔

I’ll monitor the situation and let you know if I come to a resolution on your question.

Thanks for volunteering, lieutenant. I expect to see a report on my desk at 0800 hours sharp next Tuesday.

Make sure it’s screened for any inconsistencies.

@smartazz104: It's refreshing to see that kind of brightness and it helps to give us a clearer picture.

Sorry boss I won't be in. My children have 400 nits.

Pretty sure they're just surplus cheap laptop screen units with an added housing and control panel board.

    • Ppl think monitors are black magic but it’s just a thin layer of leds with led backlight

This one is really good value. Inbuilt kickstand, full sized HDMI, VESA mounting and a USB port for keyboard/mouse.

  • Touchscreen?

  • Ok I bought one. Just when I'm in the market for one and got $20 in gift cards laying around on Amazon, bringing this down to $50. Youtube reviews look fine enough.

    • Got one as well! Let’s see how this is.

  • Would be good for Raspberry Pi!

  • Sorry for newbie question how are these powered?

    • Voltage: ‎12 Volts (DC)

I assume there's a 12V power adaptor that comes with it

      • Can this be powered by usb-c?

        • from pics looks like so

        • I’ve got a portable monitor for my astrophotography computer and yes mine can be powered via USB (and display all through the same cable as well).
Computers port must be power/video out through which AFAIK is USB-C only

I’ve powered it with a USB-A cable but needed HDMI for the video. USB-C just works with the right cable

  • So would we say Yay or Nay?

      I was saying boo urns

  • Nothing 240v supply?

    • 2 x AA batteries. (not included)

Just got mine, wish I had gone for the touchscreen one. Had no idea you could literally just plug your phone into a monitor and it works lol Other than that, the screen appears to be quite white, there are four modes to select from but none is dark enough. For the price it’s definitely worth it though.

    • Yeah it's definitely worth it. I don't have any hang-ups about the touch screen as I'm using this on a desktop. The colour seems fine enough, build quality is ok.

It stopped working with my rog ally after being plugged in for a week. Still works with iPhone and iPad, not sure what to do tbh. I can imagine a long convo on how it’s my fault if it still works with other devices. There is a possibility that is true, just not sure how to diagnose it without having another unit.
