      Thanks for letting me know

      • -6

Just got price matched. Using my JB gift cards.

        • +36

Thanks for keeping us in the loop

        • +18

Did you get back home safely?

        • -2

          That's excellent news.

Please feel free to share any other exciting developments with the broader group.

          Kind regards,
          E

    • +14

I think i'd rather Amazon purely because there are no Targets in my area, and Amazon is great with returns if it is DOS etc.

      • -6

I think my experience in return with JB is fine too.

        • +4

I guess I find it easier to quickly get sent a return slip over chat rather than have to go to a store, wait around, etc. But they both have their positives and negatives, and Amazon obviously has delivery times (albeit normally next day) to factor in.

    • +15

So glad you shared this. Now I can get on with my day.

      • +16

        You are welcome.

      • -5

        Lol

    • +6

Amazon are much easier to deal with when it comes to warranty even after 2 years. Talking from experience, they accepted a return of an ipad that the apple store didn’t want to help with.

      • +3

Yes you are right. I had a Tapo link camera returned after more than a year. Not denying Amazon return is great as long as there are many other competitors still around.

        • How so you return something that's beyond the initial return window?

    • +2

Why. Amazon have an amazing return and warranty policy ?

      • +2

Their scum bag business practices is enough for me

        • -3

It’s easy to pick on the large targets. It’s actually the factory warehouse managers and supervisors

        • -5

So don't buy anything from anyone. Every business including your own have scum bag practices - it's just a matter of scale and who can hide theirs better than the rest.

There isn't a single successful business in the world that hasn't done something scummy.

          • +1

@Evanlet: Good to know E, thanks for letting us know your opinion.

        • Which scum bag business practices?

          • @Nillionaire: Amazon is horrible to everyone except customers (they are horrible to merchants, staff, delivery agencies, …). And Amazon destroys local economies by making all the local stores go out of business, causing less competition and a big tax loss, but Amazon don’t pay any tax themselves

Eventually Amazon they will be horrible to customers too, once their total monopoly is secured

For the time being they are still pretty nice to customers, but they are actually less and less nice over time (e.g. harder to talk to customer service now, harder to get refunds now, harder to buy genuine products now, there are misleading ads and promoted products everywhere). It will get much worse…

            • @zagadka:

harder to talk to customer service now, harder to get refunds now,

That is definitely not correct. It's as easy for both these as they always have been.

Try talking to eBay on live chat.

              • @Lucille Bluth: Agree that eBay support is terrible, but Amazon used to have much better customer support. Now they have made it harder to contact customer support and harder to get refunds or credits. And it will just get worse over time.

It used to be much easier to find the link or number to talk to someone at Amazon, and their support agents would give refunds without needing anything to be posted back. It was magical. Now you have to figure out how to actually contact them, send photos to some random email address, argue about how much of a refund you should get, argue about whether you really need to post back a broken or fake item, etc.

    • -1

I’d rather not get it all.

  • +2

    Play Returnal and Helldivers 2!

    • +9

One of these answers is correct Citizen

    • You mean ghost of Tsushima or HFW instead? 😁

    • +1

Play Astro's Playroom. For a freebie, it's really well made… and utterly unforgiving.

    • For Democracy.

  • +2

Wondering if we should wait for the ps5 pro

    • +5

      I’m waiting for GTA VI

      • +5

        I am waiting since 10+ years…

      • And the PS6 by that point too.

    • PS5 Pro and GTA 6 Bundle

  • Cash back also need to be factored unless you have discounted JB gift cards.

  • Discounting because ps5 pro might come out soon?

    • +4

      Slow down, I haven't even got a PS4 yet.

      • +1

        Get another PS3 and you’ll have PS6.

      • ok nice

i only ask because they went on sale just before the slim model was announced, so i thought they might be doing the same in preparation for the pro.

        • +1

They could be gauging interest. I reckon the Slim will drop to $699 permanently and the Pro will be $899.

          • @The Value: 899 for a console lol. If that's the case, will be a hard pass :(

            • +1

              @[Deactivated]: lol. At least!

              There's no way it's $799 - the current Slim RRP. There's no way it's a $100 difference between the 2 models.

              • @The Value: Yeah I think your guess is very accurate

  • Is it even worth getting a PS5 or PS5 pro, if your TV can't even do 4k?

    • yes, depending on how far away you sit, not all games are buttery good at 4K, so a mix of performance and fidelity are balancing. if you. have a high end 1080p set that you love gaming on now - then a ps5 will mean you will love gaming with less loading and waiting.

    • Yes. Mostly for access to new games and higher FPS (you still get improvements even at 1080p).

      I'm in the same boat.

But when your TV inevitably dies or you otherwise need to replace it, you'll get 4K.

  • rumor shows PS5 pro release in Nov 2024

    • Further discounts expected on this model?

      • +1

Not about the price. if PS5 pro release in Nov, i will wait for Pro. it has better hardware.

    • +1

Yeah but if it's anything like the PS4 Pro, not many games will actually take advantage of the performance gains.

  • How much are those scum bags at Sony charging for the plastic stand now?

  • +3

I feel like many of us will skip to PS6

    • Yep, this generation of consoles is the worst by far for a few reasons

      • +1

I find it has added a smoothness and refinement that last gen lacked, making it the best way to play PS4 titles as well.

        • That's the thing it's basically a PS4 pro plus because people are still playing mostly PS4 titles on it

          • +2

@lookingforadeal7: The jump to SSD makes a huge difference in usage and practicality, and there are a fair few current gen exclusive games that are worth it. I skipped Sony last gen, so it made perfect sense for me, but can see that if you had already played all the PS5 stuff it seems less exciting.

    • +1

      Just wait for the PSX.

    • There hasn't been a brand new gadget in a while so I'll be getting it to fill that void for the time being.

Or if EB Games have a good trade in deal.

    • Yup, i remember everytime there was a new playstation, all these mad new games would come out. So far for the ps5 all i ever hear about are spiderman and god of war…

  • -8

    Consoles. lol

    • +3

      PC GPUs. lol

  • PS5 really showing its age lately… PS5 Pro can't come soon enough imo

    • Showing its age? You mean it looks ancient now?

      • +3

I mean that the level of performance relative to PC is quite low imo.
Don't get me wrong - I have upvoted this as a good deal - however - at the RRP of a PS5 which is now $800 - you can buy one of the RTX 4060 prebuilts from Techfast or Nebula that pop up on here regularly and have an equally performing system with greater versatility and upgrade-ability.
PS5 was awesome value when it first came out - giving you RTX 2070 Super level performance + top-of-the-line CPU for $750.
But now the price has gone up and RTX 2070 Super level performance is considered low-mainstream on the PC front nowadays. So the value proposition is fading imo. I expect the PS5 Pro to be a great system though - similar to the PS4 Pro which was also a great system.

        • +2

Yeah that's right to an extent, however console games are also specifically optimised for the hardware in those consoles, which is how they can last so long. While PCs can have more brute force, you're left at the mercy of individual companies as to whether the games actually take full advantage of it.

        • You might be disappointed to learn that if the rumour mill is true, it’s barely considered an upgrade. I don’t imagine it’s going to be anything groundbreaking considering no game can even fully utilise the PS5 capabilities. As I said in the other deal, it’s just another money maker for Sony. No one needs to panic that their PS5 is going to be obsolete soon.

          • +4

            @Maths Debater: 45% GPU increase…

            • -1

@Dienk: GPU, sure but not the CPU. I can’t say I have any problems with the graphics as they are. Just another unnecessary upgrade IMO.

Unless Digital Foundry’s report is way off base, the PS5 Pro’s performance improvements will be minor at best.

              https://videogames.si.com/news/ps5-pro-specs-leak-confirmed-…

              • -3

@Maths Debater: What are you on about? That article you linked literally shows 3 times the teraflops in the ps pro (potentially). When it comes to gaming, cpu speed is negligible.

                • +1

@Snoopy113: Did you even read the article or are you just looking at the numbers? I’m literally talking about the CPU.

                  • @Maths Debater: They don't understand physics (especially with frame rates for CPU heavy games) and how the CPU is equally as important for a system.

                    • @Griffindinho: Show us some benchmarks where games get more benefit from a CPU upgrade than a GPU upgrade then…

                      • @Snoopy113: Open world games which require more CPU than GPU performance. Just look at the newest Dragon Dogma game for a recent example.

Just realised PS5 been out for 4 years now. I am still happy with my PS4 Slim.

    • -7

      Nov 2020 - March 2024 = 4y?

    • PS4 is completely fine for the casual gamer

  • +3

Also $685 delivered via Big W
Or $665.91 delivered via Kogan eBay with the spend and save code

    • $645 with eBay plus coupon

  • Anyone can tell me differences between PS5 and PS5 slim. Apart from being slim. (yes I can google but too lazy)

    • +3

      175Gb more on the Slim
1 more USB port on the front
      Smaller size obviously.

      Same great system.

      • thanks mate

      • +2

Quite a bit louder as well

  • Any deals on a second dual sense controller?

  • People gonna be waiting forever for the next new ps5. I bought mine 3 years ago, have been enjoying it weekly. Glad I didn’t wait for slim, pro, etc

  • +1

Holding out until November for a pro, my gf won't be happy in the meantime.

  • Don't buy this. Wait for a PS5 Pro

And then… wait for good exclusive games, or wait for a PS6

And then… wait for good exclusive games, or wait for a PS6 Pro

… I feel like I might never buy a Sony console again?

    Where are the exclusives?

PS4 had so many exclusives, at least until Sony started porting everything to PC…

The PS5 currently has… only 1 exclusive game? (Spider Man 2?)

  • +1

Reckon its worth buying this to watch Netflix and listen to Spotify? Thanks.

    • Nah, it's better as an ornament.
