$25 Discount @ Luxury Escapes

360
DEBACLE

Hi fellow OzBargainers,

Received this generic looking code today via text which hopefully helps someone save a few duckets on their planned purchase.

Doesn't appear to be any conditions other than the code will expire in thirty days.
Please let me know in the comments if this is targeted.

Would be worth combining with this current Amex deal if you have the option; https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/829399

ShopBack are currently offering a discount of 4% on their gift cards through their app.
Had some luck combining that modest discount with their regular cashback offering in the past..

Happy travels!

Luxury escapes is a scam website

    • I am planning some spending there. Can you please clarify?

      • +2

Luxury escapes is definitely not a scam, although I know some people are unhappy with how they handled COVID cancellations. I’ve used it many times and gotten some fantastic deals.

I purchased a stay in thailand, and all over the website is plastered, FREE CANCELLATIONS etc and I check the date, its like 2 months away, so I buy and then change my mind after, and they said according to policy we can only give you a credit. I'm currently challenging it, but they are fighting tooth and nail.

        • Did the deal you purchased have free cancellation as part of the t&c?

          • @SydneySwan: yes, paypal cant help because apparently i voluntarily cancelled. they have this scam well thought out

        • So you cancelled and you have credit. Isn't that IAW their policy? It doesn't say Money Back.

          • @paddyo: it says 'free cancellation til x date'

in my book, and the english language's book, free means without penalty

            • @davidinho: Well, seeing as you are bringing up the English language book (did you mean dictionary, lexicon, theasaurus…not sure?) then tell me how you have been 'penalised'? Penalised means "subject to a penalty or punishment." yet I don't see how a credit "add (an amount of money) to an account' penalises you? It literally has allowed you to cancel, without penalty, by giving you credit, so you have lost zero.

              • @paddyo: i have lost my money. money = pixels in my bank account, not pixels in my luxury escapes account.

anyway, thats my experience, use at your own risk

  • So what was the debacle that triggered this promo code?

    • Customers were getting a couple of unexpected SMS due to technical issues.

  • will they charge Forex fee?

    • To the credit card? No. Aust based company.

  • Does it stack with referral codes

    • Unlikely - you can only put in one code per booking.

  • Any one know how many times we can use this code? Or is it just once per account?

    • Once per account
