    500/50 on Explorer primary only. Great offer for anyone with 500/150 and travelling. I've generally found QF hotels to pull same inventory and rates as elsewhere but, check the hotel costs before you book. Thanks for the deal post OP :)

      I've found them to have less options at much higher costs. I'm struggling to use $50 vouchers I have because they're always more than $50 above competitors.

        if your spending $500 on a hotel room on qantas hotels and only getting $30 back, its likely you are still paying more than shopping around

        is you get $150 back you might be marginally ahead

        just from my experiences when I am looking for hotels, Qantas hotels is always the highest price. cheapest always being some random website offering no refunds across the board with cc surcharges

      Nah I checked depending on the hotels and location the prices aren’t always so different but you have to compare so you do save.

      I made a booking directly with a hotel last night - cost of room was $900
      Checked qantas hotels today, cost of same room $897 with some other perks thrown in

      Worth the free cancellation and rebooking via qantas for me

      depend on the hotel, they use expedia, some are more expensive than expedia, but most of the time they are similar in price.

    Got 500/150 plat charge. I’ve been spending a lot on that card last few months. 5k a month for 6 months I think. If that means anything. Point is I’ve been using it and go the offer I think it might be one of the best offers for a long time.

        500 could go a long way towards food and entertainment. If you stay in your room all day then you may as well just stay home. No, I don't get resorts either.

                @ThePeterGriffin: 400 return airfare (Bali/Thailand), 25/night hostel, 20/day food allowance is plenty for a good time, and being able to absorb local culture and scenery. Flipping phones purchased on discounts, inc. TRS returns easily gets you close to break even. I also work remotely from the hostel or on the mobile so I don't lose annual leave.

                It's all about the challenge of paying minimal for a holiday that makes a holiday all that worthwhile.

    I looked at a couple of hotels in Europe, and Qantas was consistently $150 or more than the direct booking price. Also, direct bookings were refundable, Qantas website was not.
    Definitely shop around for the bargains.

      Nah I looked around for Southeast Asia and it’s almost always the same or tiny bit more. It’s the same with different booking platforms. Sometimes Agoda is cheaper sometimes Booking.

    Key thing to remember is it's one or more transactions. This means you don't need to just have the one booking, but can spread the 500 spend over multiple bookings.

      As long as you spend the $500 on Amex, eg $600 less $100 voucher for $500 spend. Did it in 2023, and no reason for it not too.

      As a side note, got points club plus and the vouchers were the only things i used (didnt even fly for the lounge 😞 )

    Annoyingly though it is advertised as an offer for "Qantas Hotels & Holidays" the fine print then excludes holidays
    • Payment can be made with a combination of your American Express Card and Qantas Points or voucher. However, the amount charged to your Card must be $500 or more to be eligible for the offer. Before making the payment, refer to terms and conditions for Qantas Frequent Flyer program to earn and redeem Qantas Points.
    • Incidental spend is ineligible for the offer. (Including but not limited to spend at hotel restaurants).
    • Excludes holidays and Airbnb bookings.
    • Excludes online gift card purchases.
    • Valid for payments made by 31/01/2025 to be eligible for offer.
    • Offer is limited to one credit per Card to which the offer is saved and only spend on this Card counts towards the Offer.

        Yeah… I assumed that's what the T's & C's meant by "Voucher"… But now you've referred to it (righly) as the Travel Credit, I think I am wrong!

        I haven't tried to book yet though so maybe I am wrong to think I can use the travel credit. I'll update in a few days when I book.

    If you've booked a 'deposit now, pay balance later' rate on one of their hotels, just jump on live chat and ask them to process the payment (expires 31 Jan)

    I got a $30 and a $50 - wouldn’t mind if it was on Qantas Flights but on Hotels and Holidays - no deal
