  • Pretty competitive compared to Felix with the international calls included. With Boost not doing much lately, I’m tempted. Do they have the same coverage as Amaysim? I know they are both Optus.

Without factoring 4G vs 5G, all Optus MVNOs share the same coverage as Optus itself. That is, they have access to the complete Optus 4G/5G network. Where there may be coverage differences is if you have a 5G-enabled Amaysim plan, as this plan looks like it's locked to 4G (unless someone with experience can tell me otherwise).

      • Yep, they are 4g only.

      • +2

Thanks. Guess it’s a lot simpler than Telstra MVNOs.

  • These guys used to charge to port out from them, has that changed?

    • I don’t think they charge anymore.

    • Can verify that they don't do it anymore. I port out and port in again to buy the same package a month ago.

Can’t trust this company. Source: personal experience

No lock in contract but they do a credit check

    • Yeah from 2020.

I know there were a lot of issues when they first launched. One issue was something to do with account numbers from certain telcos just not porting over since they didn't take some Australia specific stuff into account when they setup their systems.

      Never had a problem myself.

Wow so when people tried to port out, Circles never closed their accounts and kept charging them for months. Then Circles referred multiple of these cases to debt collection? Wtf is wrong with these dogs?

Circles were absolutely awesome for my wife, son, daughter and me. Absolutely no issues at all and I would join them again without any worries. However I moved away as Moose Mobile had 5G and data banking, which I wish Circles would adopt.

If anyone tells you Circles isn't a good company, I cannot say I agree, because I never had any issues, however it's always good to hear different stories and make the right decision.

The thing about anecdotal evidence is that it’s anecdotal, the large amount of negative reviews should rightfully deter anyone from this company.

I used it for a few years without any problem. Changed because I bundle with Superloop and don't see the point paying for data I don't need.

    • +1

I've used them for ages too, but considering moving to Moose as well because of the 5G and data banking.

I've ported in and out of Circles a few times over the years and it was always smooth.

Circles seems to have moved to a higher per month plan with huge data, but personally 20GB or 30GB is plenty for me, and I value a cheaper plan atm.

    • Since when does Moose have data banking?

  • +3

    no MMS? how even

I think if your still using MMS, it might be time to upgrade your phone to use what they call, apps ;)

      • There are many instances that I sent an image to someone via mms without the need to invite that person to use an app. Especially tradesmen, salesperson etc - sometimes even to colleagues because we didn’t bother fiddling with MS Teams

    • +1

I am using circles life and can send MMS

    Moose mobile or circles ?

    • Moose if you want 5G - just remember they are limited to 100mbps, though 4G is as fast as available in an area you can access it.

Data banking is a great add-on, always nice to know you haven't lost unused data.

Otherwise both are excellent services at a low cost.

      • Moose 5g would provide better reception and penetration inside buildings I would think. Circle got eSIM?

        • better signal penetration doesn't automatically mean better reception.

5G is not 5Ghz. the higher the frequency, the more signal penetration, but weaker reflection. it's a YMMV situation.

          Optus 4G use: B1 (2100 MHz) B3 (1800 MHz) B7 (2600 MHz) B8 (900 MHz) B28 (700 MHz) B40 (2300 MHz)

          Optus 5G use: n1 (2100 MHz) n8 (900 MHz) n78 (3500 MHz) n258 (26 GHz) n3 (1800 MHz) n40 (2300 MHz)

          • @OMGJL: I agree, i was on Boost 5G and anytime i stepped into a lift, or a basement, reception GONE. Switched to Moose 4G, reception no matter where i go.

          • +1

@OMGJL: Think you have it wrong. Higher frequency means worse signal penetration. Compare 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz wifi.

  • Been with Circles since 2019, and never wanted to opt out as their plans are of great value, their customer support is also pretty fair. The only drawback atm is they don't support 5G yet, other than that all has been sweet.

  • +2

300GB may be enough for some as home internet.

    • bill shock warning, keep in mind they won't cut off your connection when you run out your data, but instead charge per MB basis.

  • +1

Ben with these guys the past 12 months or so, happy so far

  • +2

Yep, been with them since the early days and haven't had a problem…I even ported out for a month or so to try telstra and went back to Circles and didn't have any issues…

  • My experience with Circles was not good when compared to Moose and colesmobile. Customer service is where they failed compared to the other two. I would never recommend circles at all.

  • Using Circles for almost a year ago from their last “student” deal. Since my promo is ending soon, I’m looking to find another provider. I know this is very location dependent but my coverage on Circles is worse than Vodafone and unfortunately while their pricing is one of the cheapest (with promo), I highly doubt this is the full extent of “Optus” coverage.
